Chapter 423: [ Battle against the Firebird ]
The flames continued to scorch the entire cavern.
Amidst this terrifying flame world, Allen and the others could vaguely see a huge shadow within the monstrous flames. It was elegantly stretching its large body as if it was resurrecting from Nirvana like a phoenix rebirthing from flames.
Or possibly… was this the Phoenix from legend…?
“This appearance… is this really the Phoenix…?” Allen watched in shock at the massive creature stretching its body elegantly in the monstrous flames. Although he was not able to see its appearance clearly, the somewhat vague outline already feels somewhat familiar.
“This fluctuation…”
Allen closed his eye at the vague outline and immediately gulped. This powerful pressure probably wasn’t something that a Lesser Deity or even an Initial Mid God powerhouse could compare with!
As Allen and the others stared at the flaming bird, its appearance slowly turned clearer.
The Firebird was dozens of feet tall and its entire body was covered with an invisible flame seeping out from it. A majestic energy that caused one to be shaken until they could not bear it appeared in the solemn gaze that was directed at Allen and the others.
CRYAAAAAHHH!!!
Having broken through the enormous fireball, the enormous transparent firebird lifted its burning head and stared at the unwelcome intruders in front of it.
A sharp sonic wave that was sufficient to convulse an ordinary Emperor Stage expert until he died on the spot was swiftly spread out.
As that sonic wave spread, a countless number of bombs appeared to have been thrown into the magma world. Low and deep explosive sounds repeatedly resonated. The magma shot out explosively and flames gushed out wildly in all directions.
After venting out in a near-insane manner, that enormous transparent firebird appeared to have sensed the focus from the ground. It abruptly lifted its head. That hawk –like pupils that contained an invisible flame focused intently on Allen at the very center of the crowd!
If a bird formed from flames can show a smirk, it might have probably done right now. The flames covering its body suddenly shrank abnormally. It was as if all the flames wormed itself into the Firebird’s body, making its real form clear.
Allen felt the pressure but he ignored it as his own aura exploded. His Monster Dragon King's aura exploded, creating a barrier that covered the entire group from the Firebird's unusual pressure. He then stared at the Firebird that was looking down at him and finally saw its clear form.
He thought it was the Phoenix but it seems like it wasn’t. Rather than a Phoenix, it closely resembles a heron but has flame-colored feathers.

Allen felt uncomfortable as he was locked on by that invisible flame.
That manner was as though his entire body had been scanned from inside out by the other party. It was extremely uncomfortable as if he was stripped naked.
Allen snorted in such a displeasing stared. Then he wore his game on expression and stared back at the bird, and said; “… What? Don’t look too much, you might fall for me~” Allen grinned.
“… …” Hearing Allen’s words, anger flashed from the Firebird.
Cryaaaaaahhh!!! –Another wild, violent, sharp sonic wave erupted. The enormous wings of that invisible firebird suddenly slammed on the magma.
Immediately, that gigantic wings that were nearly twenty to thirty feet long, carried a high temperature and extremely violent energy as it charged explosively at Allen’s direction, much like an invisible lightning!
Allen frowned and hastily ordered everyone to scatter around and dodged.
Allen ordered Dakna to carry Lama towards the right while Xinghong and Lan accompanied Allen who dodged into the left. However, the wings suddenly turned direction and chased Allen.
“This bastard without a sense of humor!!!” Without panic and anxiety, Allen took a deep breath and let out his own dragon breathe. The two attacks canceled each other. However, the Firebird was even more furious now.
The Firebird flapped its wings and then the entire cavern was burned with a red flame, instantly submerging both itself and the group. Seeing this, Allen couldn’t help but snort in anger. This bastard bird brain… much less attacking him, it didn’t even try talking to them and just directly attacked them with the intent to kill!!
That's why he hated people without manners...!
As for whether it was capable of talking, Allen never doubted it! This bastard, although it didn’t know what table manners were but Allen was certain that it was the mythical bird – Bennu. The mythical bird similar to Phoenix in Egyptian Mythology!
The Firebird was extremely angry and it let out a violent roar. Then red-hot magma surged and shot towards Allen in the sky.
Before Allen could counter, Xinghong and Lan appeared in front of him. Xinghong throws out a flamethrower from her mouth while Lan flapped her wings and a tornado of blue flames occurred, scattering the magma.
The Firebird’s eyes locked onto the monsters that protected Allen. A mere instant later, the being which had quite a great intelligence appeared to have recognized them as its opponents.
Immediately, a frightening energy fluctuation suddenly rose from its enormous body.
The degree of its majesty, filled with wildness and violence, immediately caused even Allen to feel a chill in his heart.
This bastard…!!
As the three of them were landing, the gigantic Firebird looked in their direction with furious eyes. It let out a deafening cry and a blood-colored magma pillar that was dozens of meters large immediately came surging out explosively in all directions. Finally, it moved along the surrounding energy and violently rushed towards Lana and Xinghong.

Allen frowned after seeing this. His hands moved but before he could do something, Dakna in his Demi –Dragon form appeared right in front of the Magma pillar and struck with her fist.
Rooooaaarrr!!!
Dakna let out a roar and her aura exploded as it clashed towards the pillar of boiling magma. However, neither party seemed to have retreated. Gritting her teeth, she put all her strength in her fist and raised her fist upward!
The magma pillar moved alongside her and the magma struck the cavern ceiling. Following it, the entire cave started to shake violently. Large boulders started falling from above.
Seeing this, Allen immediately throw the fire spirit and the trembling Grim into the Grimoire world and teleported beside Lama who was attacking the firebird unceasingly. At this moment, a large stalactite was falling above her. She immediately tried to summon her flame barrier but before she could finish her spell, she saw a large shadow engulfing her.
Allen.
Her eyes slightly widened and saw Allen with his back turned on her. He was spreading his arms and his hands started crackling with electric sparks. “Get Lost!!!” Bang!!!
The large stalactite was destroyed in an instant. Allen then turned his head and takes a deep breath. RROOOOOOAAAARRR!!!! – Water breathe covered with lightning sparks shot from Allen’s mouth.
Seeing this, the fire bird’s eyes flashed an alarm light and it immediately hides behind her fiery wings like a little ball of fire.
BOOOOMMM!!!
The low, deep, furious thunder-like explosion suddenly rumbled beside everyone’s ears. During this meteorite-like collision, Allen had sensed that the entire cavern had shaken violently once again. This place wouldn’t last long if we fight here…
Looking at this situation, it seems that fiery red magma was about to erupt out like a volcano eruption and cover the sky. Allen turned around and saw Lama staring at him with dreamy eyes.
Seeing this Allen can’t help but smile wryly… seriously women... no matter what situation, their heads are always prone to be filled with marshmallows…
Allen shook his head as he embraced her and teleported away.
Lan, Xinghong, and Dakna were still fighting with the Firebird--explosions rang out one after another. However, as they were fighting, Allen suddenly noticed something wrong.
The attack seemed to be useless…!!
Allen’s eyes widened. Looking at the brawl occurring before him, Allen reminded of Marco, the Phoenix in One Piece world. This bastard monster can regenerate any wounds with the fire it .generates.
This bastard monster…!! Its body was like the body Marco or Ace–made of Flames!
Lama looked towards Allen and the latter just chuckled and shrugged his shoulders. “Love, I think you should return to the Grimoire –”
“No! I will fight as well!”
Lama's enchanting big doe eyes clearly showed her intention, which was, she would absolutely not leave Allen even a half step.
She was a prideful lamian! She would never retreat from a fight.
More so, leaving Allen and the others behind!
That is something she would never do!!
Allen felt a headache. He really didn’t want Lama to join this kind fight.
He was just about to say something when he heard a rumbling sound, and the entire cave collapsed. Allen’s eyes widened in shock as he immediately hugged Lama, and afterward, both of them were instantly buried alive within rocks.
As they were about to really be buried, Allen’s wings spread out and then with a boom sound, he bore out from the pile of rocks with Lama, directly shooting towards the sky. After that, silently floating in midair, he glared at the firebird standing on the wave of magma.
This bastard…!!
“Are you alright?” Allen turned his head and looked at Lama, whose delicate hand was gently pushing away a thread of black hair that was on her forehead. His voice was soft as he asked and his concerned tone could not be hidden.
Lama felt Allen’s care and concern and her lips curled upwards, dazzling Allen. “I’m fine,” She answered. Her red slitted eyes became gentle and soft as water.
Allen smiled. He was just about to speak when “Master!!” Seeing Allen out, Dakna who was about to rescue them let out a sigh of relief. Along with Lan and Xinghong, they stood up beside Allen.
Allen, floating in the sky and the Firebird looked face to face. Its powerful aura made Allen slightly apprehensive.
Merely looking at how it was treating several thousand degrees magma as a hot spring, he knew that the strength of this beast was in no way inferior to the Mummy Lord, perhaps was even higher by a level.
This moment, FireBird had already locked on to Allen, and its hawk-like gaze were looking at him and for some reason, Allen felt as if it was showing an interested expression. The kind of look you used to see your new toy…
And this angered Allen so much…!!

Alex must use whatever resources he can to escape from under the thumb of a ruthless corporation, while keeping those he comes to love safe. Chapters will stay up on RRL until Aug 10. It'll go up on Kindle Unlimited after that. How do you get those extra chapters I didn't have planned for RR? If you want them, they'll be in the published book. Book 2 will still make sense without them - I made sure of that. But... isn't $3 a lot for extra chapters? Think of it as tipping me for a good job and you'd also be getting my eternal thanks. If you enjoyed it so much that the idea of missing out a few chapters haunts you, I did my job as an author and made an engaging story. What's in those extra chapters? Resolving a few issues, set up for the cybernetic revolution, a rather intense sex scene with a new partner, revelations of who's really pulling strings, and a bit of set up for book 2. Complaints that people missed out on it when it was published here won't help (sorry!). I posted this for the folks who helped me shape the book, which is you all! (Again, yay!) But... Why! Why not keep it all on RR forever? My editor likes being paid for one. For two, I'd like the ability to get broader readership. If I break even on editor costs, I'll be incredibly happy. What about book 2? Drafts for Book 2 will go up around Sept 10. My draft of Book 2 is done, and it will be handed to the editor once Book 1 is published. Feedback has been even more positive. Beta readers devoured it and wanted more. I'll add a link to Book 2 once it's up on RR. I'm more or less, using you all for Beta Readers, so you get it before it's "canon" and edited. I invite active and meaningful feedback during this process. In return, you get early access to chapters. That does mean that the book content or plot might be adjusted before it gets published as I refine it. Sex Y/N? Yes. I heard the feedback, 90% wanted it explicit. You all will get the "full" experience. Will I dump all of book 2 here? Honestly, I'm not sure yet. At a minimum, it'll be up to the 75% mark as we collect feedback, much like what I did with book 1. It really depends on how good the feedback is and how nice people are. Lots of support + meaningful feedback to make it better = higher likelihood you get all the book. Will be it up here indefinitely? No, it'll probably go up on KU at some point, but I'll make sure there's enough time for a large readership to grab it here. Then we move to book 3 which already is around 60K words already. What about other adventures in the same universe/characters? Yep. Absolutely. Nothing ready to share yet though. I plan to keep those side chapters and more slice of life stories as RR exclusive. Since I'm carving this off in book-sized segments, I'll have to figure out where those disconnected story arcs belong. I'm open to suggestions.

GLADIUS // Eret X Reader
PHANTASM SERIES BOOK 4---Gladius, (noun): (in ancient Rome) a short sword.---Eret perked up as soon as you and Simon walked into the room, a wide and welcoming smile coming onto his face. He was softer looking than his father had been, but you could still see some of the similar traits. He had a head of thick dark curls, and the same sharp jaw that his father had had. He wasn't as bulky though - he was tall and thin - and his face was a lot more open. What separated him most from his father's likeness though was the colorful cape, and the large mirrored glasses he wore - swirling with colors reflected from the room. He stood from his seat when Maven let the doors swing shut behind her, that wide smile still on his face. "You must be the embassy.""And you must be King Eret." You said, stooping into a bow. "Oh, there's no need for that." Eret said as you rose from your bow. He stepped down from the dias where his throne sat - colorful cape trailing behind him - and came to stand in front of you, taking your hand instead. "I'm not really one for formalities." He grinned, shaking your hand. His palm was warm against yours, and you could feel some slight callouses - most likely from practicing his sword work.
