Chapter 540: [ Lightning Vulture ]
“Don’t worry, Big Brother Ma!”
“We will definitely save our partners first!”
The group of youths gritted their teeth and shouted in reply. Their breaths were stable and they were evidently battle-hardened; definitely not some fledglings that were out of their nests for the first time.
With a cry, several of the Lightning Vultures became even faster and directly swoop down, passing down a large tree. An electric arc jumped from their bodies and immediately setting the trees around on fire.
“This is bad! They want us to be surrounded by flames!!” Li Ma immediately noticed what the monster birds were planning as he stared down at the quickly spreading fires.
Monster and beasts that lived together in herds like the Lightning Vultures would take revenge for even the slightest of grievances. The moment one of their kind was killed, it became inevitable that they would pursue vengeance until their deaths!
With the existence of the five vulture corpses, the battle reached the peak of hostility. The only possible outcomes were either the utter destruction of the eight youths or the complete erasure of the twenty-plus condors from existence!
Chrrriiiiieeeeekkkk!!!
The majestic, piercing cries of Vultures echoed out from even deeper within the mountain. Before long, more than a dozen Lightning Vultures arrived with furious screeches, joining the others to attack the youths. The flames had also already spread throughout the trees, almost surrounding them.
“Damn it!” Li Ma’s expression finally changed. “Looks like this rotten place is the nest of those feathered beasts! Now, we are also trapped due to the flames, we can’t afford to stay here any longer! If we took our attention towards the flames as well, some of us will surely die if this goes on! We must hurry and find an opening to escape or else we’ll be in serious trouble!”
“While defending, we can still somewhat manage to keep our formations. However, once we move to break out of here, how will it be possible to stave off the combined attacks of the vultures?” asked a young girl valiantly in her delicate voice, as her almond eyes glistened. She looked to be at most eighteen, with a smoking-hot figure complemented by her tight, black, full-leather attire, carrying a quill of arrows on her back whilst wielding her longbow.
“Lu Shiyi! We have no other choices left! We will eventually lose this battle of attrition if we do not extricate ourselves from here now! God knows if there might be more of those beasts rushing towards here? The longer we delay, the more danger we’re in!” Li Ma hardened his face in a spur of determination and hollered, ”Everyone prepares to break out together with me!”
They really didn’t know why, just the moment they came, they immediately encountered Lightning Vultures! One must know Lightning Vultures are at least fifth rank monster beasts and worst was that they attacked in big groups!
Li Ma had already come here before and somehow understand the terrain quite well compared to others, and from what he had known, Lightning Vulture’s habitat should be within the deeper central part of the third mountain… but why is it here? Isn’t this the second mountain?

This is unbelievable! What bad luck they had? Li Ma couldn’t help but cursed inwardly in anger.
“Understood!” The group, including Lu Shiyi, replied resoundingly and prepared to break out with their lives on the line.
When in front of them and the rushing Lightning Vultures, the empty space had suddenly become distorted. Thereafter, a hurricane burst forth from the distortion. Bright specks of light were flashing within the hurricane.
Boom!
With a loud explosion, the hurricane fell apart and a slender figure appeared within the magic array constructed with light.
“Hm?” A sound so soft and mellow, like a breeze making one, calms their mind just by hearing at it resounded. It was soft and seems more like a whisper and yet, it resounded throughout the entire area, as if the owner of the voice was just beside them.
“It’s not them…?” The slender man turned around and faces the crowd of surprised people.
Beautiful clean snowy silver hair, enchanting red eyes, and indifferent handsome expression. A black fur coat that seemed to be made out from a large black bearskin, and a thin white V-neck shirt underneath as well as black pants and long boots.
All the eyes of the eight martial practitioners stared shock at the sudden appearance of this handsome youth.
Who?
How did he appear?
In fact, it wasn’t just the group of cultivators that was shocked but the crowd of monsters as well.
Crryyaaaaahhhh!!
With an angry cry, the Lightning Vultures speed was not inferior from before as it charged toward the slender figure that suddenly appeared. It was still a fifth-grade monster beast after all. Even if its combat abilities are weak, the force of their lightning would still be devastating. Besides, their talons and beaks could pierce through metal, much less this frail-looking youth!
Of course, that was just a naïve thinking of a beast…
"Hmm? These idiots are looking to die, aren’t they?" That slender figure seemed to still be in a daze. When he raised his head and noticed a crowd of Lightning Vultures fiercely rushing toward him, he immediately raised his eyebrows and indifferently spat out the sentence.
“I thought I’m going to meet with at least one member of the Sect but it seems like it was wishful thinking,” the youth sigh. Then he suddenly turned towards the crowd of martial practitioners and asked, “Well, how should I put this? Are these ugly monsters flying there, your pets?”
“Huh?!” Li Ma and the others stared at the youth in a dumbfounded expression. What did he just say? Pets? Is this guy’s head cracked?
Ignoring their expression, the youth shrugged, “If so, then discipline them properly and be good girls ~”
“What the heck are you saying?!”
“Are you out of your mind!?”
“Are you an idiot?!”
A barrage of insult came over. Then, the group of monster bird swooped down in a dangerous manner towards the youth.
"Be careful!" Even though the Li Ma did not understand how the slender young man suddenly appeared, he still threw out a warning out of goodwill.

“Are you a fool? Get out of there immediately!!”
“You trying to die?”
“Dimwit! What on earth are you doing?!”
The other people following behind Li Ma had also turned pale from fright. Some girls covered their eyes with hands as they did not dare to watch the tragic scene that was about to occur...
Lu Shiyi withdrew her beautiful slender legs, rolling her almond eyes in anger. “Where did this bastard come from? Must you insist on rushing to your death?! The Lightning Vultures are already here and yet he was still standing there idiotically? Is he an idiot?!”
The group did not expect someone to suddenly appear in front of the crowd of monsters. Even though the combat power of the Lightning Vulture was not strong, the fact that its number was already close to thirty was already terrifying.
With their terrifying lightning attacks that numb and worst paralyze their victims before tearing them to pieces with their claws and beaks, even an Ancestor level Cultivator would be seriously injured by this fierce charge. An ordinary person would most likely be immediately squashed into minced meat.
Lightning Vultures were extremely savage and have extremely fast speed. It has sharp black claws and beak and scarlet feathers which were as sturdy as iron. This monster could easily see anything within a ten-mile radius and goes crazy after seeing blood. Its favorite food was the blood essence of formidable beings, which increases its battle prowess as well as strength!
If there is a group that contains more than seven Lightning Vultures, then ordinary Emperor Realm Cultivators would not be their match. If they move in large groups, then even Ancestor Realm Experts must stay away.
If they number more than a hundred, even a Half-Saint must run away as soon as he notices them.
—that is how terrifying Lightning Vultures were!
Even though their sole power wasn’t that impressive aside from the lightning attacks that could kill King level cultivators easily and turn them into roasted meat, but the moment they flocked together, that was when the enemy started!
However, the scene that occurred in the next moment caused the expression of the group to suddenly freeze and their eyes to be filled with incredulity.
Despite facing the charge of the crowd of Lightning Vultures, that young man seemed to be completely unfazed. There was no change in his expression and his eyes were as calm as water.
Cryaaaahhh!!! One of the Lightning Vulture was quite quick as it immediately left the others in a just a minute and was already two to three meters away from the youth. It brandished its claws, wanting to tear the youth apart. And above them, amidst the crowd of monster birds, concentrated blue lightning flashed down like a net, and the sizzling sound of the electric current struck terror into anyone who could hear it.
It was crackling ominously as if wanting to entrap the youth inside it.
He’s dead for sure!
The group of cultivators watching from the sideline, preparing to leave at any given moment—revealed uneasy expressions as they were certain that the youth was about to be diced into multiple parts and swallowed cleanly by the vultures.
It was already too late. The first vulture’s sharp and menacing claws were already swung down on the youth’s shoulder. And yet, the youth was still unperturbed and eerily calm… however, when the group of humans and monsters alike expected a torn limb flying across the air—
Suddenly, their faces revealed disbelief in the next moment. The sharp claws that could tear metals apart as easy as a hot knife through a butter, although it hit splendidly …
“Wh- Why doesn’t it pierce…!” Li Ma exclaimed in shock!
However, such a question received no answer at all.
After looking uninterestedly at the claws that were stopped at his shoulder, the youth only snorted and pushed out his hand in a very natural movement and carelessly pierced the Lightning Vulture’s heart.
Giik?! The vulture soon crumbled down to the ground while issuing a cry. Its eyes wide open as if it couldn’t understand what just happened. The electric sparks only run through the youth’s arms then to its body before disappearing, like water being dripped into the center of the ocean.
“Well, I heard this bird’s skin was thick… how come it was soft as butter?” The youth muttered, his hand dripping with red blood and holding something… like a heart. “A fifth rank monster, what a letdown~” The youth sigh as he nonchalantly tosses the heart on the side.
“Now then, it seems like a menu for tonight’s dish was decided… let’s go with chicken wings~” The youth smiled faintly as he turned his head towards the sky where a group of KFC was waiting to be roasted.
Giiiyaaaaakkk!!! The Lightning Vulture saw their comrade died, but instead of anger, chilling fear crept on their bodies when they saw the eyes of the youth. It wasn’t that of a prey… but a predator!
Worst fear they felt was when a large scythe materializes behind the youth which was smiling at them.
Not good! It’s a monster!! The Lightning Vulture thought as they hurriedly turned around, wanting to flee. Although they didn’t know why but their wild beast instinct was screaming—leave! Escape! Such fear was the first for them and yet—can they leave? Can they escape?
Of course no!
“Where are you going?” A soft and gentle voice rang out behind them and before, the Lightning Vulture could react, a massacre had occurred.
