《Sorainella》Cultivation

"First you have to detect the World Energy. This is the hardest part. After you do that you have to absorb it into your body, then drag it through your veins in this path." Farn explained animatedly.
He then pulled out a manual and opened the pages. On the first page was a diagram. It had a person sitting cross legged with their hands on their knees and arrows showing the energy path in the person. With a glance, the person and all the arrows and the entire path were imprinted in Aurelie’s memories.
Mellana looked at Farn with surprise. Cultivation Manuals, in which Cultivation Techniques were written, were considered very precious. The technique he had pulled out was the best one in the entire village. The reason the library was guarded was because there were cultivation techniques in it. She considered saying something to him, her teachings as the child of the Library Keepers coming to the forefront of her mind, but recalled Aurelie's story and stayed silent. Farn went to turn the pages of the book, saying, "The diagram is explained in later pages..." but cut himself off upon seeing that Aurelie was already in position. He considered stopping her and telling her to read the manual, but told himself that there was no rush. It had taken him and Mellana an entire day to detect the World Energy, and they were considered geniuses.
For her part, Aurelie was putting herself in a meditative state, stretching out her senses and awareness. As a job hazard, she had the ability to immediately give up all her worries and clear her mind. But after a minute of searching, the only thing that stood out to her was the already noted strange electric feeling, the prickling against her skin. 'Wait a minute... , don't tell me...'

Aurelie popped out of her meditative state and asked Farn, "World Energy feel prickly? Like lightning?"
Stunned, Farn nodded and looked on as understanding flashed across Aurelie's face and she went back into meditation. He probed the Energy around Aurelie and gave a start as he sensed it begin to be sucked into Aurelie. Aurelie, on the other hand, was feeling great. She could cultivate after all! She quickly dragged the Energy into her, carefully following the path on the diagram. All her pores opened wide, dragging in all the energy they could. She finally completed one cycle and a small ball of pure power was deposited within her.
Aurelie stared at the ball with her mind's eye, poking at it with a mental finger. It curved around the finger, then rebounded off, as if she had poked a bubble without breaking it. 'That. Is. So. Cool.' Excited, Aurelie absorbed more and more, watching with fascination as the ball grew larger and larger.
Suddenly, it stopped growing. Frowning, she sucked in more Energy, and with a small shattering sound, the ball's growth surged again. Satisfied, she continued to suck up the World Energy in her surroundings. After a little bit, the same thing happened. She gave the same response of dragging in more power, and with a louder sound, the invisible barrier gave way once more, though it lasted a bit longer this time. Slightly bored now, Aurelie continued her cultivation. Finally, she hit a third barrier. 'I'll stop after this one,' Aurelie thought to herself, licking her lips in anticipation of the challenge.
Farn and Mellana looked at the girl in a meditation posture in front of them with something akin to terror. Less than a minute to sense the World Energy, ten minutes to get to the third stage in the Apprentice Realm, less than two minutes to break through the bottleneck, half an hour to become a seventh stage Apprentice, less than five minutes to break through that bottleneck, and now, one hour fifteen minutes after she started, Aurelie was attacking the bottleneck to become a first stage Master Realm practitioner. This speed, was she a monster? When would she stop?

They got their answer fifteen minutes later. One hour and thirty minutes to go from having no cultivation to a Master Realm practitioner. If they told this story to anyone else, they would be considered as crazy. They would've called themselves crazy one and a half hours ago. But it had just happened. They were currently considering whether to go and applaud her, or to pummel her. It had taken them thirteen years of painstaking cultivation to reach their current rank of Master Realm second stage, and most of their peers were still stuck at the bottleneck of seventh stage Apprentice. They were rarely seen geniuses in their village, but they felt like trash in front of Aurelie. If they knew that the only reason she had stopped was because she was bored, and not because of mental fatigue, they would have torn the branches off of the neighboring trees and hit her with them, while screaming, "Give me back thirteen years of my life!"
As it was, they just hobbled home, shell-shocked and wondering if they were dreaming.
