《The Harmless Sweetie is Far From Harmless [CANCELLED, REWROTE IT IN ANOTHER BOOK}》Side Story 2: Oh... A Six Foot Wave

Lilianna, age fifteen.
"Hello? Hello!? Stop pretending that you can't hear me. I know you can! Come on, just a contract please? Just a contract that would last until my deal with that big dumb himbo is done. I just need your cooperation." Lilianna yelled from outside a magical barrier brought up specifically to keep her, and only her, out.
Her black hair bounced as if it were alive each movement Lilianna made. She was currently wearing a simple black sundress and a hat to cover herself from the seething sun. Her tan hands knocked on the magical barrier several times, never stopping and only knocking harder the longer she was kept out. Her lips curled into a slight frown and her brows furrowed to create a worried expression that distorted more the longer she is left unanswered.
"Go away." A spirit dressed in a servants' clothes shooed her away from inside the magical barrier.
"Alon, that's your name right? I heard that priest call you that yesterday. Hey, I swear I didn't mean to cause trouble for that creepy old ma— Noble, I mean noble. We were on the verge of making a contract. Help out a poor orphaned child please?" Lilianna said, her hands on the magical barrier, smooshing her face onto its surface.
"No. Absolutely not, you have almost doomed the future of the people of this settlement because of your odd obsession with equality and justice." Alon's brows scrunched as she looked at the unsightly girl pressing her face onto the repelling force of the barrier. "I was only making a contract with you out of pity, but because of your actions I will not be helping you. Go away, or I will summon a wave to take you away."
"You wouldn't dare. You wouldn't hurt a cute innocent angel like me!" Lilianna dared the water spirit, who let out a heavy sigh. She smiled, thinking she finally hit Alon's weakness. Though a dark shadow caught her attention, her head moved, staring at the thing obscuring the sun's light.
"Huh." For a few seconds it didn't register in Lilianna's mind what the thing was, but when it did…
"oh… Oh… OH! OH SHIT!" Lilianna yelled out as she quickly ran away, seeing the six feet wave of water forming behind Alon. She used her water magic and covered her dainty feet in liquid and glided along the ground at an incredible speed. "PSYCHO!" She yelled out in divoniac so that the mana in the area would carry her voice to Alon's ears.
"What do I do now…" Lilianna wondered, sitting by a campfire alone. She didn't really have any companions, she was still new to adventuring stuff and hasn't joined a party yet. Plus, she was the lowest rank, a G-Rank. Despite being a divorakk, it was still mandatory for newbies to start at the lowest rank, it was a flawed system that would be rewritten in a few years time.
"Dale that dumb muscle-man...beast...thing! God, this is sooo not slay queen." Lilianna smiled at her misuse of slang, her way of talking was extremely confusing to the people of Magamundo, another factor as to why she was so lonely. She was pretty much a social outcast due to her odd behaviour and way of speaking. "Can't he just give me the medium for free… Woe is me, I don't have money."
She stoked the fire in front of her, deep in thought.
"What would Mama and Papa do when faced with this predicament… hmmmm… well they'd pull through that's for sure. Unfortunately I'm not as smart or as strong as them… I can't just sew an outfit for every single spell I have. Magical arrays are confusing… I should probably develop a spell that could let me quick-swap through outfits. God, my medium is so weird, I can't wait until it evolves and changes form." She monologued.

She stared at the moon and reminisced about her beloved parents, she's long accepted their deaths. She knew that her parents wouldn't want to see their little girl sulking and wasting her youth and life away mourning their deaths. They would want to see their little girl blossom into a beautiful flower in this garden of a world.
"If this was a musical, this would be about the right time for a musical number." Lilianna kept staring at the moon, dianians were naturally attracted to the moon and loved gazing at it, it was their natural instinct. "The moon waxes, the rivers flow, and love grows. Your beauty and ethereal glow is like none other, Lady Diana." She muttered the small prayer and adoration for her guardian goddess.
"I want a girlfriend…" she whined, the beauty of the moon reminded her of her single status. "To be fair though, I don't think normal humans my age would want to date someone who looks twelve. I can't even date other divorakks cause I'm not part of a nest…"
"This sucks major fucks… and Dale is making everything worse! I'm so close to just becoming some sort of villain because I'm obviously not a chosen one like those three!" Lilianna whined even harder, the three people she was referring to were the three newest champions of their respective tribes.
Gracci of the danzians, handpicked by their Guardian God Danzel.
Que'ele of the elizabethans, chosen by the church of their Guardian Goddess, Elizabeth.
Gaierra of the gregorians, blessed by their Guardian God Gregory.
Diana still hasn't revealed her champion yet, however, they were apparently already undergoing training and is being taught by the higher ups of the Great Lunar Convent—the official name of Diana's church—the basics of being a deity's champion.
"Life is tough for the side-characters. I wasn't even given anything by that bratty reincarnation goddess. Just a shit load of mana." Lilianna complained. The god of reincarnation that she was faced with was an annoying little girl that didn't give her the gifts that she was supposed to receive because she just 'didn't like Abigail's vibes.'
"Still though, I can't believe she tasked me with helping develop this world using my ridiculous mana pool. Still though, could've given me a more useful Sandata or something..." Lilianna bounced a ball of mana around her, entertaining herself. She was amazing at using magic without a medium because her Sandata was really just a sewing kit that let her sew magical things. It wasn’t practical, she thought, so she just learned how to use magic without mediums.
She was amazing at magic without using any type of medium, unfortunately medium-less magic can only be so powerful. Using her medium to stitch together a spell was always miles better than using spells medium-less.
"I just have to wait until I look like a proper adult and not a scrawny twelve-years-old girl. Then I'll bond with my magic and let it evolve so I can mature. I don't wanna be a kid forever after all." Lilianna yawned, it was almost time for her to sleep the night away. "I won't be able to get all the ladies and men out there if I look like a child. The most I'd be getting would be old creeps and weird nobles."
Lilianna had two main goals in life, her number one goal was to open up some sort of window into modern worlds and copy their slang and use it to annoy the people of this world. The other was to build up a harem of beautiful men and women. The former was always prioritized, the latter was more or less just an optional goal. She wasn't that confident with her physical appearance, but she definitely had a lot of faith in her amazing outfits inspired by Magamundo's current fashion trends.

Though, if she was being 100% serious, then a nice and slow life in the countryside was a good alternative too. She was the lazy type that liked naps, so she would prefer to be in the peaceful farmlands of the country than the bustling royal capitals where noise is rampant. Her Sandata allowed her to create mannequin-like servants and seamstresses so she didn't have to toil away at fields or make her own clothing. She could just live a nice and slow life, napping her immortality away.
But, though she would like that kind of future too, right now, she is young and full of energy. She wanted to explore and adventure while she still can. Maybe in a few decades time she would settle down and live out her immortality in peaceful bliss, but right now all she wanted to do was know more about this new world she was thrust into.
That, and her parents always told her stories of far-off lands. She wanted to see them herself, especially the northern isles and the elizabethans plays that they would hold there in the biting frost.
"So many dreams, so much time… I'll live this life out to the fullest! That's what Mama and Papa would have wanted." Lilianna smiled to herself, but a few moments later, the smile wavered and disappeared. "That's what the children would have wanted for themselves too… I'll carry their dreams for them, I'll make sure that I'll atone for my sins by living for them. I'll protect those weaker than me with what power I have, and build a place where humans wouldn't have to gouge out divorakk eyes to live. A nest where everyone is equal… I'll try my best so that there won't be another like me." Lilianna vowed. The guilt she felt for killing those other children was still stabbing at her even now, though it was an accident, she couldn't help but still hate herself for burning her friends along with those bandits.
"I'll carry their wishes, and I'll stitch together a happy ending for them, and for everyone around me. Even if it means I don't get one myself… God why the fuck am I being so sentimental, corny, and cringy right now!?" Lilianna joked, she giggled as she solemnly swore to herself that she would do everything it takes to build a place, a nest, where everyone would be happy.
Maybe this was her truest, and most genuine goal. To make a place where everyone is safe, where everyone can receive a happy ending.
"God, I'm such a Clailip. Mama and Papa really should've just named me Clailip. Lilianna isn't a fitting name for me. Im neither pure nor beautiful."
And so she slept, dreaming of the moon, the stars, and a nest where everyone would never encounter hardship.
"Magical array, Flutterghast!" Lilianna yelled, a black pentagram was used for her array's mana arrangement. A pair of wine-dark wings of water tried to sprout from Lilianna's back but ultimately exploded into tiny needles of light.
"Fuck! What did I do wrong this time???" Lilianna's voice rang out through the empty field, carrying with it heavy emotions of confusion and disappointment.
"I nailed the amount of mana, maybe it's the sigils? God…." She sighed.
"Can't you practice your magic somewhere else?" Alon, the water spirit from yesterday, said from inside the magical barrier. "If you're hoping to get our sympathy by using failing arrays then I'm urging you to stop now because it will not work."
"What? No. I'm only practicing here so I can get back to begging you, or those two other spirits, for a contract. After what happened yesterday I don't think you would care if I was being torn apart in front of you, so I won't even try to use my shortcomings to try and convince you guys. I may be dense, but I'm not brain-dead." Lilianna went on with her training, adjusting the black pentagram she arranged on her palms with magical threads.
"Flutterghast!" Deep-sea hues of blue sprouted from Lilianna's back and formed into wings. It grew bigger and bigger until it was two times the size of Lilianna's body. A hallowed pattern that had a calming memetic effect. One that made anything that stared at the swirls and patterns hang open, aghast with its beauty.
"YESSSS!!! SUCK ON THAT DALE! I FINALLY GOT IT RIGHT, HAHA!" Lilianna yelled out, fluttering her new wings made out of water. It glistened in the light of the seething sun and gave Lilianna a place to cool down as it was big enough to give her some sort of shade. "I can finally show him the fruits of my training, ehe."
Alon watched the little girl as she excitedly danced in happiness. She jumped, twirled, and laughed as she played with the butterfly wings she created using her magic. A slight smile crept up on her face, she was starting to waver and actually consider giving the little girl the chance to make a contract with her. After all she has been coming to this place for two whole moons straight, begging for a contract, and even helping some of the settlement's people when she could. That doesn't change the fact that she almost ruined this settlement's future by fighting with a noble that handled the place's financial needs.
But, she was in the right. Alon knew that, and so did everyone else. In truth they had forgiven her the first few weeks she was visiting the barrier erected to keep her out. They just didn't want her inside as per the nobleman's orders. Alon didn't want to make a contract with her, not because of the incident, but because the nobleman told her not to. Of course it could just be kept a secret, but Alon didn't want to take any chances and risk destroying the developing town just to help some random orphaned dianian.
Still though, she was developing a fond feeling for the little girl. She was earnest, honest, hard working, and kind. If she wasn't being stopped by the nobleman, she would definitely take her in and act as her guardian and teach her how to properly harness magic. The water spirit sighed, she was bound by duty, unless the settlement could be freed by the corrupt nobleman's hold, then she wouldn't be able to help Lilianna.
"VICEROY FERDINAND HAS FORSAKEN THIS LAND!" A short man huffed and puffed, it was one of the town's higher-ups. It was the sheriff and in his hand was a contract. "Lady Alon, I found this in Viceroy Ferdinand's room while I was clearing and cleaning it out. What do we do!? He's sold us to bandits, he's sold the whole town to bandits! He took with him Glacies and Aery, we do not have the proper firepower to fight back…"
A certain dark-haired dianian smooshed her face onto the barrier, her eyes glistened as she listened to the woes of the town sheriff.
"You know… I can fight really well." She smiled, it was an opportunistic smile. She wiggled her eyebrows at Alon, expecting her to say something.
"...Am I supposed to say something or…?" Alon's tone was genuine.
"Asking for help never hurt anyone, you know I'm just saying that I can maybe help with your conundrum, ya know, in exchange for a contract." Lilianna's face was smug as she looked at Alon, "The contract really just has to be until I smash Dale's ego in. Don't worry."
Lilianna and Alon had a staring contest, they stared deep into each other's eyes, one was waiting for an answer and the other was contemplating whether it would be okay to enlist an almost stranger that was currently banned in their town to help defend it from bandits.
"Fine." Alon half-heartedly said, she watched as Lilianna's smug expression turned into a genuinely joyful one, her lips curled upwards and turned into a smile big enough that it was almost ear-to-ear..
