First Chapter of Next week Chapter 22 – Yue Qiujian

When cultivating, one needs to have a sutra, which is a means of building up and geathering the heaven and earth qi into ones dantian. Using the sutra, one can cultivate without impediments and constantly draw qi into their body.

In the human body there are typically 8 meridians. These are like channels which control the flow of Heaven and Earth qi inside the body. In the Nascent Spirit realm when someone awakens these 8 meridians are all simultaneously activated.

By they help absorb the qi of heaven and earth and can gather it into the dantian. A break through in the Nascent Spirit Realm essentially happens when one has sustained enough qi in their dantian for a decent amount of time. This feeling of being stuffed full will cause the dantian to feel like it bursting open and the qi will rush into the next layer. Think of it like an egg inside another egg. When there is enough matter inside the small egg it will crack open and leak into the next egg. When that egg has also ben filled it will crack and go into the next one.

This is essentially cultivation. When someone enters the Spirit Profound Realm, then it is like the dantian has reached it largest size and becomes capable of exiting the dantian and reaching to things outside the body. When one is able to release a sufficient amount of qi then they can practice martial skills. Usually this occurs when they are at the 6th step of the Spirit Profound Realm.

The Spirit Aura realm is when the Qi inside one’s body permeates the air creating an aura around the practitioner.

Under normal circumstances, a person will use a sutra to cultivate the Qi of heaven and earth. For example, the Ocean Heart Sutra is divided into three parts. The first part gathers lots and lots of Water attribute Qi and equal amounts of Life and Death attribute Qi, while completely neglecting Fire attribute. This causes an imbalance in the body as the Water attribute Heaven and Earth Qi inside the dantian will attempt to put out the Fire attribute Qi which is part of his body. Once that is eliminated then Hai Yun will die.

For this reason, it is important for him to have dao partner that pass some Fire attribute Heaven and Earth Qi into his body.

The benefits of this is that he doesn’t have to cultivate an additional attribute. If he did, then his cultivation speed would slow down tremendously, using this method he can speed up without destroying his foundation as he is borrowing his Dao partners foundation to help bear the brunt of his own attributes.

The 3 part sutra is called as such because the first part requires both parties to simply chant the words to gather qi. The second part is to allow them to pass qi to each other. And the third part is to fuse their bodies. This is not limited to just a husband and wife relationship, but even fusion down to the cellular level until the two can fully become one person.

Thus a single being with two foundations, one in fire and the other in its polar opposite. This is the fearsomeness of the Heaven Defying race!

If a normal person like Hai Yun were to have both the Fire and Water attributes it would spell disaster, because even a single one element become stronger than other will cause it to start attacking the other. By borrowing another person foundation, allows a finer control of how much qi should be inputted.

However, the self combustion due to the two attributes destroying each other only occurs when one steps out past the Spirit Fusion Stage. So as long as he finds a dao partner before then, it will be alright.

Currently, the 3rd step of the Nascent Spirit Stage Hai Yun and Qin Cheng at the 2nd step of the Nascent Spirit Stage rapidly approached the central plains of the continent.

After nearly a month, all the powerful influences had walked off the central isles, and in order to not alert anyone the duo had a quick conference with their fathers before setting out.

“Father, I actually have one more issue to speak with you about,” Hai Yun called out before departing.

Sensing his son become solemn, Ha Cang Qiong immediately took off his smile and listened intently.

“Father, there is a good chance that I am going to infuriate many people from the peak powers. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if anytime I beat someone up I get called out for being the evil incarnation of the Dragon King’s of the 4 seas. So I don’t want those people to ever come here seeking revenge, is it ok if I pretend to go by another name?” Changing ones name was similar to changing ones origins. Unless it was absolutely essential, no martial artist would be willing to do so.

“That’s a good idea! As your father, I will personally pick a name for you!” Hai Cang qiong’s response was completely unexpected. Hai Yun, who had been expecting to have a strong debate was left with his mouth hanging open.

“What? Did you think I would be against something like this?” Hai Cangqiong grinned. “You know, I used to sneak around doing all sorts of things with an alias! When your grandfather found out he wasn’t mad about anything I did, he only got irritated that he couldn’t pick which name I used…”

Hai Yun felt a cold trickle of sweat run down his back. I thought these people… were normal…

“I have selected! When you go about adventuring, your name should be, Yue Qiujian!”

Lunar Sword?!?! Hai Yun pondered for a short moment. Wouldn’t this be an odd name… oh well, why not?

Seeing no substantial reason to reject he agreed.

With the final thing holding him back relieved, he departed. Naturally, with a different face…
