"What are saying?"
"D-D-Don't ever do the mistake of going against him. S-Stay far away from him....far far away"
"What about the girl?"
"You can't take away the girl from him!! Y-You can never ever take her f-from him"
- a mentally scarred martial expert on Zayer.

Chapter 13: Awards
The sword laid on the ground shattered and to make things worse, Orange had fallen unconscious. Zayer swung his sword in the air and made a gesture to Apple saying he's next.
The whole arena was in an uproar as they hadn't expected something as outrageous to happen. Carl had gotten up from his seat confused as to how did Zayer completely crush his opponent in a single blow.
"W-What the hell? He's just too monstrous!" Taylor exclaimed as Joran smirked.
"Zayer is just on a whole new level. To think I was boasting in front of him" Joran sighed he began to think of how behaved earlier.
As Apple saw Orange unconscious, his legs began to tremble. He rushed to Orange's side and fell on the ground.
"Tian Yu! Are you alright? Wake up!"
The Referee rushed to see his condition and waved his hand to the medics for help.
"The fight will continue!" said the referee as he realized that Orange had just fallen unconscious.
Apple and his teammate stared in silence as the events began to unfold, they simply stood motionless.
Zayer could understand they were too terrified of him but he didn't give them a moment's notice and began to charge towards them.
"We forfeit!" Apple shouted out loud as Zayer stopped in his tracks.
"Excuse me?" Zayer was stupefied.
"Hmph. I guess prodigies amount only to this much. I must say, the decision was very wise." Bai Jan said with a poker face. Caesar couldn't help but look at Carl's embarrassed face and laugh.
Zayer's face became red in anger as he looked at the referee who gestured to stop the match.
"The Victor is Team 106!"
Zayer couldn't contain his emotions because he had thought he would finally get to fight a decent opponent. As he walked past Apple their eyes met. He looked back at said in a calm voice
"This isn't the end"
The outrageous display caused the audience to roar in applause. Today a new genius had appeared in the Academy who would one day shake the whole Gaspra Realm. There was no final match as the opponent team had forfeited in fear. The tournament had ended and the new freshman rulers were born. The result of the tournament made everyone realize that there were no one who could match Zayer in the freshman and that he was the undisputed king of the freshman.

It was now time for the award ceremony and all the winners from the duo and trio category had gathered.
Bai Jan and the associate teachers were present as he held five brown boxes with him. Everyone understood what the box contained. It was certainly a beast core!
The eyes of the seniors contained greed and envy as they knew exactly what it was. Bai Jan gestured the whole crowd to be in silence.
"The freshman tournament comes to an end. As promised earlier the winners will each receive an award and certain privileges"
"The winners are in front of you. A big round of applause for these students and the rest of the students who gave their best!"
The audience once again began to clap and cheered for the winners.
"Finally,it is time that I hand over the prize of the tournament! An Earth Profound Realm Beast Core!"
"Whoa!"
"Amazing! It's an Earth profound beast core!"
Once again the students began to chatter amongst themselves. The freshman commoners and most of the nobles included had never seen an Earth Profound Beast Core.
Bai Jan gestured the teachers to hand the beast cores to each of the students.
"And finally, the winners will be granted access to five floors of the library and will be given extra medicinal pills for a year. They will also be favored in the tournaments to come"
Students were busy thinking how privileged the winners were. The winners would get extra medicinal pills every month for a year. This would make their cultivation rise much faster. They would also get to access the fifth floor of the library where high grade martial skills would be found. They felt these really were privileges and where almost on par with getting a beast core.
Bai Jan congratulated every winner and finally came to Zayer.
"Lad,you are just too much of a monster. Even your old hag of a grandmother wasn't on this level in her age. You have good talent!"
"Thank You, Principal"
"Well, lad I think you have what it takes to qualify for The Three Great Heavens. You must work hard and persevered for the next three years. I'm sure you if you give it your all, then you may barely qualify!"
"Yes Principal! This junior will keep the advise in mind."
Zayer had no idea what the Three Great Heavens meant. Nevertheless he was happy to see these privileges would open up more opportunities to break through to him. The main concern of his was not to raise the cultivation but to increase his battle experience. Only by fighting out more would make him more comfortable with his new body and would stabilize his cultivation. The three boys made their way back to the room.

"Zayer, your battle skills are just too amazing! Tell me, do you have a master!?"
"I'm sure it was his grandmother who taught him fight!"
"Zayer, could you ask your grandmother to give us some pointers if we were to meet?" Joran asked rather in a sheepish manner.
"Zayer,I'm just too sure you have a master right?" Taylor was really envious of Zayer's battle prowess.
Zayer looked at both of them in a rather calm manner. He could understand their emotion because he too had felt it a long time ago.
"A man is his own master. People like me believe in only this. We can never get a master and that is what we believe in as the Art of War"
"You may find it hard to believe it but it is the truth"
"Huh? You're not joking right!? T-Then can you teach me a little of your techniques. It is okay if you teach me even just the basics!" Taylor asked earnestly.
Seeing Taylor's serious expression, Zayer couldn't help but sigh.
"F-Fine. I will give you some pointers but the training regime will be very harsh" Zayer replied with an indifferent expression.
"No problem. This junior agrees!" Taylor clasped his hands and bowed in respect.
A smile of satisfaction crept across Zayer's face. He understood Taylor's circumstances and his determination was unwavering.
"Okay. We will begin tomorrow"
"Yes!"
"Look at you too all friendly. I guess I'm being left out" Joran made a sad face.
"You can join if you want to"
"Relax, I was just kidding. If you don't have any problem, then I Joran would like to join as well. I think this will be my first step in becoming an offensive mage!" Joran roared as he felt excited once again.
"Calm down Joran!" Zayer and Taylor tried to calm Joran down and began to laugh at his expression.
After the three calmed down, Taylor thanked Joran and Zayer for winning the tournament. He said it was the achievements of the two that made them win the tournament. Zayer and Joran were rather moved by his down to earth nature and didn't rebuke him. Then the boys were excited to look at their beast cores. The three opened up their boxes to find an Earth Profound Beast Core!
"This seems to be a Core of a Wind Profound Beast! This will surely compliment with our Wind Affinity!" Taylor exclaimed as Zayer stared at him in confusion.
"So what's the advantage?" asked Zayer.
"Well,we can absorb any beast core but if it has the same affinity as us,then the result will be much better. As you suck in the Qi from the core, it compliments with the affinity and doesn't receive much backlash from body.
"Hmm. I'm sure this will let us breakthrough to the True Profound Realm!" said Joran.
"That depends on one's talent! A person can only absorb 20-30 percent of the Qi from Core. Also, relying only on beast cores for cultivation will make you go insane or cripple your cultivation because of the berserk Qi it contains" Taylor gave a detailed explanation as he understood that lack of understanding could give path to great problems in the future.
"That sums that up. What about the five floors of the library?" asked Zayer.
"That indeed is a privileged for us! We can study high rank martial skills! The freshmen with a decent achievement only get to go up till the fourth floor. For them to access the fifth floor will take them at least two to three years!"
"It's good to have a good head start" Joran smirked.
"Indeed. This will give us great opportunity to stay ahead of them"
Joran and Taylor began discussing while Zayer's mind was filled with certain thoughts. As he began to think, Zayer asked
"Taylor, would you mind telling me something about the Three Great Heavens?"
"Three Great Heavens!?"
Please bear with me for the spacing.

Royal Guard (Complete)
I was an ordinary worker ant of the Kingdom, one of the millions populating a spread of land ten kilometers long. I had an ordinary life: I dug, I ate, and I slept; and a dream that was shared by all workers who wanted to live a life of adventure. I was on the last day of my mandatory community service, a day from becoming one of the harvesters --the crown jewel of our society-- when fate played its sick joke on me. I broke my mandible, lost my dream, and was almost forced into slavery as a result. That’s when she came into my life, a princess. That’s when the adventures ended. She was mocked for calling the termites a threat. However, she remained determined to protect her kingdom, and I, to protect her. After the Long Burn
After the longest exodus in human history, a terrible accident threatens to turn the salvation of humanity into its most desperate struggle for survival. From the ashes of calamity rises a new human story. A frustrated scientist dedicates her life to recreating the Earth in alien soil, while another is gunned down for his sin and sets off a chain of events culminating in a desperate escape across the void for an opportunity at redemption. Around a distant moon a deep space miner stumbles onto a secret, the key to which lies buried inside his own tortured mind. After the Long Burn is an anthology of short science fiction stories set in the distant Ionad System. Author's Note: I thought I might try something a little different with this story. Rather than one story, it is six stories of varying length, each taking a slightly different perspective to tell a larger story. Some are more actioney, others more cerebral but I hope there will be something for everyone. Stories over 7000 words, with the exception of the titular After the Long Burn, will be published in two parts. I anticipate an upload schedule of one part every other day.

Parallels
Parallels are a constant in life. Our friends' lives often run parallel to ours; we share similar experiences or tastes- perhaps even both. Sometimes, however, opposites attract- and our lives run perpendicular. In that case, we are not attracted by similarities; rather, we are attracted to the differences in others. So, what happens when two parallels are broken apart? What might happen to them? Are they forever doomed to run alongside each other, never seeing one another, never meeting? Or, perhaps, might they be spun about? Could these lines that formerly ran alongside one another meet? Could they possibly be set perpendicular? Any feedback is welcome, so long as it is constructive. Also, you may not use any characters, ideas, places, or what have you that I present here without my explicit permission. A note: This is a story which I began over a year ago, but never got around to finishing- it feels about time to really get it going. Now, there are a couple of things about the story, and myself, that need to be said. First and foremost, there's a slow start, but by the third-fourth chapter things should be speeding up a bit. Secondly, in regards to release speed and/or word count per chapter, I make no promises- my schedule is fairly random, and in regards to word count, I will cut off any chapter at any point that feels appropriate to me- that may include cliffhangers, if necessary. I'm not trying to reach a specific word count, I am trying to create a cohesive story, with pseudo-appropriate chapter breaks. This means I will also not rush a half-baked release for the sake of getting a release out. Thirdly, I will make any edits, anywhere in the story and at any time, that strike me as necessary- typically being wording and/or formatting changes, but I may also decide to change major plot points- in that case I would put a notification in the next chapter released. Finally, and most importantly, I am a Christian; this story is intended to at least moderately reflect those values. So, if you particularly dislike any of these things, feel free to look elsewhere, and don't let the door hit you on the way out. God bless, friends.
