《The Demon and The Angel (Complete)》Chapter 46 Whipped into Shape

Training the fishermen is fun. I spent two whole weeks training them and raising several of them to get water based abilities. They all show signs that they are fatigued but since i go out and fish for them large quantities of fish every night and pay them the equivalent for their normal work they accept to just train.
Now after 2 weeks the first few demons began ranking up. I was happy when i saw what the mortal world lizardmen evolved into. Several turned into a variant of the Naga which is built specifically for the water. The normal naga looks like a snake with a human torso and a cobras head. These variants have blueish purple scales and large fins on their backs running all the way to their tail and on their arms. (http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140917173411/greyhawk-chronicles/images/b/b3/Naga.jpg)
A few of the remaining ones turned from [Minor Lizardmen] into full one Lizardmen but a variant built for the sea named a Sea Lizardmen. They are slimmer and the scales were similar to fish scales and much thinner but after checking everything i found it was much more dense and built to swim fast in the water. There was a slight difference as two of them came out as variants. The it was bigger and had a large fin on his back as well as his tail. The smaller but more common one only had the tail fin.

Variant http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/189/e/a/lizardman_fighter__uncommon__by_mictones-d56g7nq.jpg)
As for the demon lizardmen. For some reason all of them became demon beasts. Huge greenish yellow scaled lizards nearly 3 meters long with a kind of sponge around their long necks that filter oxygen in the water for them. The name of these beasts was called a Ludroth.
When they first woke up they ran wild but i made sure to completely tame them by intimidating them with my killing intent. After feeling the rush of killing intent the somewhat degraded brains of the small Leviathan made them return to their senses and they regained their previous personalities somewhat. They did lose the ability to speak proper human tongue but other lizard kin can still understand them.
Besides them, there were several demon goblins that ranked up into a water based demon called a Kappa. These guys are disgusting to look at but surprisingly powerful fighters. The have green skin similar to a frog, short messy black hair with the top have a kind of dish that holds water, on their back is a rather large turtle shell, their hands and feet are webbed and are made for swimming and on their face was something similar to a ducks beak.
Once enough of these guys were ranked up I allowed them to go fishing again. But this time it was much more interesting. The new boats that were upgraded from the small row boats had a nice hold space and would be used to carry the fish back to the port. All the fishermen would work as a team instead of individual as they used to.
I had the sea lizardmen mount the Ludroth. They were strapped with saddles around its neck just above the front arms.
These creatures walk like crocodiles and are on their stomach but have powerful arms because they way they entered had them jumping three meters into the air and diving head first into the water.
In the water they are surprisingly fast possibly a match for a few large fish. The Sea lizardmen strangely weren’t affected by jumping into the water like that. They had been trained to use harpoons so they could hunt better and faster. Most of the lizardmen gained a bit of water type magic and i taught them how to reduce the water friction so the harpoon could maintain speed.

Now what about the humans and elf? They were the boat riders. Trained to fight like experienced sailors to the point of being able to fight on the sea on a stormy day they were the ones that stayed on the boats and brought the fish into the harbor and maintained most of the guarding of the harbor.
Now if you remember there was an announcement about the harbor being a place sailors would come right. Well not one week after i remodeled the docks several large caravels arrived with crews of around 20 each. Most were small crews that worked tremendously well with each other. Thing was they were adventure groups and not fishermen but that didn’t matter because as more of them began appearing more money and trade began happening as they brought deep sea monster meats in and we began getting much more money from Oreana.
The lizard fishermen were also having a lot more success after they were trained. They traveled a bit further and also hunted a few larger monster fish species that lived a bit further.
It was only after about the half way through the second week that a squad of guards appeared at the docks. Unlike what they were before these guys looked much tougher.
Several dwarfs were much larger than normal dwarfs to the point i could only call him a bit shorter than a human. Their skin also had a strange metallic brownish color to it.
After talking a bit I discovered that they were a rank above normal dwarfs that are born gnomes and rank up. Its called Iron Dwarf. They gain more height and muscle and skin made of iron but at least 3 times harder.
Along with this they had Dok’s strange armor suit thingy which seems to improve their strength somewhat.
Seems that Flow has begun training the dwarfs and demons in Oreana and this group was a squad that should have been here. She made sure to have them suffer two weeks of intensive training in the lower levels of the dungeon before it reached the mining levels so they could get a massive level up and skill progression.
They said i was to continue their training from here since Flow needs to improve the city guard and then make it larger by recruiting more people to patrol the forest around both the docks and the city.
I was curious about the race since i’ve never heard of Iron dwarfs before. The conditions it seems is that they need to first be experienced miners with at least intermediate level 5 mining, the technology of the work place has to be above a certain level and they need to be born as gnomes and be able to rank up since those would be called wild dwarfs.
It was quite strange really they only got to this level because of Dok. Who knew it could be like that.
Anyway i get them started as soon as i can and make them remove that rusty metal suit so he can actually train his body. Its just as bulky as it was when they are dwarfs but now they have longer limbs and are able to move better than their shorter counterparts.
Besides them there were several brutes and imps with them. All of them were variants and not a single normal red brute. I’m guessing Flow and Lona didn’t want those brainless idiots walking about so they must have taught them well and made them study a lot.
With all of them training and the fishermen back in action and with much more strength than they every would have expected to have I fly off to Oreana to meet up with Flow after returning command of the docks to Peter Grunt the real dockmaster.

After i found the docks guard unit in the barracks i asked why they werent out there. They gave me some really lame excuse which pissed me off. It was something along the lines of, ”All the guards that go that way vanish so we are leaving that place alone”
I had to seriously hold myself back so i wouldn’t kill the guards in my rage.
I forced all of them to get ready and dragged them plus the first weeks team into the dungeon and made them fight masses of monsters.
Things like Rollers, round golems that are one large boulder that can hide its head, arms and legs in its body and roll to attack its enemies, Rock Rhinos, like the name suggests a huge rhino golem made of densely packed rock and minerals, and normal golems.
Besides these there were several other monsters all of which i forced all of them to fight during these last two weeks. I was able to get those lazy asses working until several ranked up over short period of 3 days making the group strong enough to go protect the docks without the Siren affecting them so much.
I sighed as they left and began training the last group this week which is the original third floor squad.
Half way through Lily returned and filled me in on what happened at the docks and i nod and compliment her for doing that.
To completely remake the docks was a bit out of my expectations but considering her personality it was still within range of her recklessness.
With both of us we each take a team from the third and second floor into the dungeon and force training them to get stronger and continue to spartan train them until they are presentable soldiers. I also send out a request for new recruits since it is really needed. We got a good number of unemployed people who came here looking for opportunities. It won't be long before the security of this town grows enough that crime rate will return to near 0.
We also want to increase public order. Its important to raise this because we noticed in the few towns we have in our kingdom that newbie foreigners appear only when security and public order reach a certain level. Though none of us trust them in the slightest, except for dok and his friends, we try to bring them because they come in large number and it bring in a lot of money.
As for the boss monsters in the Oreana Dungeon, well lets say me and Lily had a good workout fighting those. They brought in a lot of materials though. Both of them were highly packed with iron and other minerals. We took the magic cores they formed in their heart or head and left the mineral. This way new boss creatures and higher leveled monsters will be born. Any smart person would leave a high leveled bait for weakers creatures since it would benefit you later on as new species appear.
With that we both continue making this town better. Oh and if your all wondering now that we already interrogated the Siren we made them our citizens.
How? Well i felt they were evil by nature so with my experience as with illusion magic i learned in the underworld with the succubus i slowly brainwashed them and remodeled their personalities to be more passive. There are a few with stronger wills but most of them have already begun to change after i make several illusions play in their mind. High speed magic that makes several years pass in their mind as they “live” as something born on land and die tragically by their own hands.
It works like a charm as they have grown scared and formed a lot of guilt for killing so many land creatures. Its not a really pretty way to brainwash but it's a way to change them. The dwarves the guard the prison say several cry at night because of the guilt. Like i said it isn’t pretty but it is still working and soon they will be free to go.

We have been working on the draken leader for about three weeks already. We planned to make him paranoid because he can’t control his power without us. How was this done? Well it took a combined work from all of us.
The lizards are somewhat trained by him but most are pretty dull in the head. When he trained with them its mostly him sparring with them. When we began we took 2 days to learn about his abilities.
In short he is like a salamander with wings and walks on two legs instead of like a normal lizard.
He can fly, he has above average strength, i guess it would be on par with a mortal hobgoblin that was moderately trained, he breaths fire but it's not so powerful like a real salamander or dragons breath.
In short he only has a bit of fire magic control.
It made it quite simple to do then. Whenever he was about to use his breath he would let it fire out once every 3 attempts while snuffing the rest by Aiden momentarily draining the air around his mouth after he breaths out. The first few days he was just a bit annoyed but soon it began to affect him mentally. The second part was that while he slept. me and Aiden made him remember see himself losing control much more often and start losing to his minions
At the end of the dream it was always the same, a short phrase whispered in his ear saying, “Search for the Gods and demons less you lose your power”. We then made him feel a falling sensation that felt almost real and he would kick and jump around waking up from the nightmare which we made sure would stick into his mind.
After we began to make him experience nightmares it didn’t take 2 days for his movements to begin to dull from the lack of sleep and anxiety. He was also slowly losing control of his magic without us doing anything.
I let the twins take a few days while i watched to make sure they do it properly. They really took it far though. They made him dream of fighting his sister while she was a minor lizardman while he was a draken and lose pathetically.
After that he actually lost to his vice and began trembling. This was at the end of the second week. For the last week we began making him have the nightmares but then it would show us helping him regain his power. Slowly but surely he regains his power but then at the end if it shows him abandon us after we help him he would lose control again.
Its now the end of the third week and we are in our small cave with the draken on the ground.
Alduin: PLEASSSSSE!!! HELP ME!!! EVER SSSSSINCE THREE WEEKSSSSS AGO MY POWERSSSSS HAVE BEEN GOING CRAZY!! I’M GOING CRAZY!!
He was on his knees with his face in the ground begging for help.
Kumi: Will you and your tribe willingly join our kingdom. We can train all of you.
Alduin: YESSSSSS!! ANYTHING WE CAN DO IT!!
Kitsu: Well if that's so then return to your home and have everyone pack up. Have a good rest we will help and your powers will return to normal with training.
He brightened and bowed deeper and then they all ran back. I had Aiden follow them and after they are packed and sleeping to give him a good nights rest. Tomorrow we will be leaving here and returning to the kingdom with a good number of new troops.
Medusa PoV
I hate physical training. I’ve always liked reading. In my tribe i always took the books we got from the humans and learned to read.
I’ve been under hell training and constant combat against powerful creatures that i never thought i would see.
Thankfully though i had gained a lot of affinity to earth my magic in this area has also grown. Because the forest has gotten safe so sometimes I’m even ordered to kill something by myself if its safe enough.
The training finally led me to finally rank up. I’m finally equal to my brother.
You have reached level 100. You can now rank up into [Lamia (Variant)]YesNo

Dungeon's Path
The only places I have posted the story and allow it to exist are on RoyalRoad, Scribblehub, and my Patreon. So the world ended. Whoopsie? We didn’t even see it coming. Quite literally as it came at us faster than the speed of light. Don’t worry though, it got better. Also, I am not joking about the world ending. Most people say that and mean humans are inconvenienced for some reason. Nope, all matter disintegrated at the atomic scale there for a few moments. Apparently the local universe wasn’t actually stable? Don’t ask me to go into too much detail. It would require both of us to have a few more college degrees than sense, and I at least lack them (both the degrees and the sense). Anyway, the energy/matter/wibbly wobbly strings were at a local minimum and not the universal minimum. Basically, what we took for sea level was actually a nice little mountain lake and when the dam busted so did, well, everything. Now here is where things go a bit off track with what normal meant before. You see magic is real, qi is real, gods are real. Not on old Earth mind you but souls pay little attention to time and space so we dreamed of it. In fact, the closer the shift in reality got to Earth, the closer our dreams got to the new reality. This is basically me tip toeing around the fact that it was a ‘System Apocalypse’. Reality became a video game, I became a dungeon, and this is my story. Doyle Huxley just wanted a normal life but as the above might clue you in on that just isn’t in the cards. He gets to experience a “Path Based System Apocalypse” and some early paths he takes, both literally and figuratively, lead to him becoming a dungeon. The aim is to release chapters once a week on Friday. Cursing will be avoided and no naughty adult action will take place in the story.

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.

Immortal Shards
In the boundless multiverse, all possibilities, no matter how remote, exist somewhere. Universes are born, or are created, and die, or do not. In the vast Myriad Heavens Cosmos, a reality far away from our own, a mysterious energy called Mana provides the basis for both physical techniques and magical techniques, and interweaves and is part of all matter, all spirits, and all energy. Mana is the lifeblood of the world, and those who channel and cultivate its power are called cultivators, for they strive to grow along the myriad paths of power and enlightenment. There are many such paths, known as Dao, but they all feature Shards! When a being, man, beast, or otherwise, gains a large enough Mana sea in their body, a crystal core, known as a shard, containing the essence of their power, the ideals and emotions that motivate them, and the essence of their soul will form. A beast which cultivates to the level of forming a shard is called a Magical Beast. A human or other being that does is known as a Mystic. A shard may be a Mage Shard, allowing one to use mana to attack with the elements and produce fantastical, reality bending spells. A shard may also be a Warrior shard, channeling elemental and mana power into one’s physical form, shaped into projectiles, or various other uses; or it can be a Immortal Shard, with the abilities of a Warrior and Mage shard both, and others besides. Anyone who forms an Immortal Shard has the potential to shock the vast planes of reality! In the eternal struggle between the living, who will gain advantage, and for how long? Who will live and who will die? Who will protect and guide the commoners, and fight rogue Mystics and Beasts? Into this world, a child with a potential beyond his wildest imaginations is born. This is the story of Alexander Grandstar, and even the gods may not know where it goes! Current release schedule is 1 chapter a week, on whatever day I decide to place it (usually Saturday or Sunday)
