《Lorian Ellins [Dropped]》Chapter 47 The final battle (Teaser)

The Harpies rained down like meteors, ready to tear the small group of humans apart.
- Rumble: Electric discharge!
But their courageous assault was met by utter failure. The electrocuted Harpies dropped like flies, only to be later finished off by the crew and the travelers.
Engel bit her lips. She was too impatient to leave and made a mistake, forgetting the electro guy. It was okay though, she was learning from her mistakes. So what if a few more Harpies were sacrificed? It didn't make much of a difference.
- I'm summoning my pet.
Before the battle, Lorian deceived others, telling them he'd be summoning his pet while he would be gone to make some traps. In reality, he would be morphing into Farax. His power level didn't drop in the morphed state, which meant the wolf king would be more than twice as strong as an original.
The silver card glowed in his hand and he turned into a gigantic silver wolf. He wasn't stingy and consumed the strength potion, which turned his silver fur reddish. He also activated the rune of brutality, which also increased his strength. Golden linings appeared all over his body, which glowed with bright light.
- ROAR!
Even his roar was strong enough to push the Harpies back in 10 meters radius.
Ice domain spread out, enveloping the Harpies. Their reaction speed and agility noticeably dulled in his presence.
There was no time to lose as this mode only lasted for 5 minutes.
Under the effect of integrating his power level with Farax, his attack power increased from 27-33 to 54-66. It was further enhanced by 2 due to strength potion making it 108-132, which further increased to 130-158 with the effect of brutality rune.
''Chilling fury!''
His eyes glowed with silver sheen, further increasing his base damage to 170-206!

His random bite or slash would have unimaginable 800-970 kgs of strength, which was about 1750-2150 pounds!
Even the guards, peak 2-star sub-elite warriors who were by Engel's side were shuddering in fear due to the power radiating from his body.
Even though Farax's body was massive, even it had trouble accumulating so much explosive influx of power as every muscle felt like bursting. He was even losing life force at a constant rate. Seems, he would not even last 5 minutes in this mode.
He gave a dreadful wolf howl, then turned into a blur as he started brutally slaughtering the Harpies.
Every claw swipe, lunge or bite took the lives of 3-5 Harpies. With his power, he could even jump up real high and easily crush anything in his way.
Engel was frightened by the bloody display and tugged on her guard's feather.
- I...I want to go. Let's leave, ok?
The guard was about to nod his head, but another guard quickly interjected.
- This thing's very strong but got a low vitality. There's no need to panic. I'll finish it off on my own.
Saying this, the guard took off.
- Arax! Come back right now! Our mission is to protect little queen! I'll tell the empress about your irresponsible behavior!
The guard to Engel's side screeched in Harpy's language, but Arax didn't go back.
He was peak 2-star sub-elite monster. He was above thousands and below tens in his circle. He genuinely looked down upon this monster with fake power level.
He flew in the sky at the speed of an arrow in a zigzagging pattern. When he found the right positioning, he acrobatically spun while his body glowed with green light.
The wind was stirred as tens of wind blades were consecutively generated, aiming at Lorian's morphed body.
So what if his strength was about half of this monster? His barrage of wind blades would be more than enough to dice it up into bloody pieces!
The wind blades flew unimaginably fast.

Tower of Somnus
When humanity first encountered alien life, we were judged and found wanting. The Galactic Consensus interviewed our leaders and subjected us to a battery of psychological tests to determine our progress as a society. They found us to be selfish, wasteful, impulsive, and boorish neighbors. Earth was blockaded and our collective encounter with our extrasolar neighbors rapidly faded from memory. All they left behind was a hypercomm relay and a handful of subscriptions to a massively multiplayer game that participants played in their sleep. The Consensus said that it would let us interact with our neighbors in a controlled setting. That it would teach us to be better members of the galactic community. The megacorporations that controlled Earth ignored the game until they learned that the powers earned from clearing dungeons were just as real when day broke. Magic, supernatural abilities and rumors exploded from nothing and a subscription to The Tower of Somnus became a status symbol. Katherine ‘Kat’ Debs doesn’t have much, but it could be worse. Born in an arcology, she was assigned a job in the megacorporation that raised her almost as soon as she could work. Despite the stability of her corporate life, she wanted something more. A chance to claw her way up the rigid social and financial ladder to make something of herself. A chance that wouldn’t come naturally to someone as familiar with dark alleyways and the glint of steel as she was with office work and corporate niceties.Book One is up on Kindle Unlimited as of 7/6/22 - https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B0B2X3L8H5

That must make it good. Right? Character-focused, low-stakes, post-death upload. Hard system: if the stats say she loses a fight, she'll lose the fight. Hello I am a first time author writing this because I was sick of reading books that I never enjoyed and it has always been my wish to do something like this, to act upon my imagination and create something I enjoy. I may not be good at this and there could be a lot of grammar problems, but please bare with me as I stride along the path of an author! Please be warned about my novel. The first chapters are the crystallization of my first ever attempts at writing, I believe the story flow gets better as the chapters progress.
