Chapter 65 – Departure (I)
Aiden and Lia were guided by the youth to the rundown store where Heavens’ Net was located. The place was the same as always, filled with junk of all kinds and strange artifacts whose use was unknown. The only difference was the youth currently guiding them. After all, he was normally sleeping; but now, he was speaking enthusiastically without stop.
Aiden could not help but question the reason of his behavior. After all, the youth had never spoken more than two phrases with them every time they came here. However, he had been trying to speak with them from the moment when he went to the city lord mansion. Aiden had lost count of the number of questions the youth had made during this short travel.
Though for some reason, he found his behavior a bit familiar.
Probably, it was because he had spoken with him before when he came to the store, even if shortly.
Putting such thoughts on the back of his mind, Aiden followed the youth downstairs to the place where the old man in Heavens’ Net welcomes customers.
It didn’t take long for the group see the door of the room.
“Master, I brought them here.” Said the youth.
“You can enter.” Answered a voice from inside.
Opening the door, the youth signaled the pair to enter while himself walked towards the old man and stood behind him.
Likewise, the pair entered too; Aiden seating himself on a chair and Lia standing behind him, like she always did. Then, the pair looked towards the old man.
The old man’s appearance was the same as always, and a simple candle continued being the only source of light in the room. Aiden only smiled calmly towards it, but Lia, who was behind him, frowned deeply. For some reason, she always had something against the old man.

“I find it hard to believe that you succeeded.” Said the old man. “And in such impressive manner. I’m very curious about the method you used to breakthrough. Are you not interested in telling me?”
Aiden frowned deeply on the moment when the old man spoke, but at the end, he remained silent. On the other hand, Lia brows twitched immediately, and with an aggressive tone, she asked.
“Is it the reason because you called my young master here? Don’t you think you are very shameless!?”
“Hahaha, calm down missy. I don’t have any reason to call you here if I need get such information. There are more suitable methods to learn about it after all.”
“… Are you threatening us!?” Asked Lia, a bit of red glowing in his eyes. However, the old man only waved his hands ignoring it.
“Is it like you see it, miss?”
“You…!!!” Seeing Lia about get out of control, Aiden gripped her hand strongly. Then, with a calm tone, he asked to the old man.
“The city lord told us that you knew about the matter of my breakthrough. It means that you probably know about the method I used too, right? What reason you have to send someone for me then?”
“Hahaha, you are right youngster, I more or less understand the method you used. I must admit that I’m impressed though. Where did you get the idea? To use saber manifestation like catalyst to connect the body and the soul. Truly an innovative thought.”
Ignoring the old man’s words, Aiden simply furrowed his brows and spoke bluntly. “Get to the point.”
“Mmm, you are not funny.”
“Anyways.” Said the old man. “I think it’s better if we get to the main point quickly.”

With a serious expression, the old man extended his hand towards a drawer in his desk and took a stack of documents.
“You are probably thinking about leaving the town soon, right? You see, I have a bit of information that you will probably find useful. The reason because I called you was because I thought you probably would be interested in it.”
Giving a quick glance, Aiden noticed that the stock of documents in the old man’s hand was pretty big. Frowning his brows, he could not help but ask in doubt. “Why are you giving it to me? I doubt you are doing it for free, right?
“Smart.” Replied the old man. “I need something from you.”
Looking towards Aiden deeply, the old man signaled to his chest and spoke “I need your method to breakthrough without a spirit.”
The doubts in Aiden’s mind increased even more, and he noticed Lia’s mood becoming worse, so, he asked quickly. “Don’t you have it? You were able to see the process, right?”
“I’m not speaking about it.” Said the old man. “I’m speaking about the method to break beyond the realm of core-fusing.”
“I don’t understand.” Aiden shook his head. “What do you mean for it?”
For a moment, the old man looked fixedly towards Aiden, but when he didn’t see any reaction from him, he simply sighed. Then, with movement of his hand, he pointed to the place where Aiden’s energy core was located.
“You probably noticed, right? Though your saber manifestation helped you to break through to core-fusing, it cannot carry you to the next stage. After all, spirit awakening consists in nurturing your spirit. How can you nurture a spirit when you don’t have it?
“My request is precisely it. I hope that you can give me the next step to breakthrough without spirit when you discover how to do it.”
“… Why do you think I will be able to do it?” Asked Aiden after remaining silent for a moment.
“It’s simple.” Answered the old man with a sly smile in his face. “If you were able to do it once, you will probably be able to do it twice and thrice. You can say that I’m betting in your future success.”
Aiden didn’t speak after hearing the old man words, and the old man didn’t urge him either. Both of them knew the implications of such decision.
Although it wasn’t completely certain, the method to breakthrough without spirit could mean creating cultivators in mass. After all, the biggest factor limiting the number of cultivators was the lack of spirits.
Aiden kept his silent for almost two minutes, but finally he spoke.
“I’m curious old man, what information is so valuable that you think I will trade the method to cultivate without a spirit for it.”
“Hahaha, the truth is, this information is not very valuable to a normal person.” Smiled the old man. “However, I think that you will be very interested in it.”
For a moment, a mysterious smile appeared in the old man’s face.
Then, like finding something entertaining, the old man laughed.
“It’s information about the missy behind you, and the method to cure her.”
