Intermission 1 – A World Beyond Mortals
In a mountain somewhere in the continent, a handsome man was seated while drinking a cup of wine.
Around him, an expanse of green extended towards the horizon. No human had ever reached this place. This was a beautiful virgin forest untouched by civilization.
While drinking the cup of wine, the man observed his surroundings. His eyes seemed to look through the most profound mysteries; and his hair, as dark as the darkest night, waved softly on the presence of the chilly wind.
On his laps, a pair of beautiful swords emitted a soft crimson hue. The swords emitted a soft and calming presence, completely different from a normal weapon. But it only helped to increase the gentlemanly mannerism of the man.
With a smile on his face, he raised the cup to his mouth and spoke with a casual tone.
“Come out if you are already here. I dislike people observing me in secret.”
“… I apologize, your highness. It was not my intention to disturb you.”
Looking at the chubby woman appearing suddenly from nowhere, the man only gestured with his hand for the woman to sit. Then, looking towards the captivating scenery, he waved the cup in his hand and sighed softly.
“Truly a captivating world. I find hard to believe that such a world remained unknown for such a long time. Tell me, is it your doing?”
Feeling the man set his gaze on her, the chubby woman trembled slightly. She didn’t dare to answer his question nor face his gaze. Instead, she only lowered his head.
“Don’t worry.” Said the man. “I don't have interest in making things difficult for you. Instead, I’m more interested in the changes you made to the world. I can only sigh in admiration to the laws behind such modification… It was also your doing, right?

This time, the pressure behind the man’s gaze increased suddenly. The chubby woman felt her soul leaving her body. Though she was powerful beyond imagination, compared to the being beside her, her strength was as good as insignificant.
In the end, she could only nod.
“Interesting.” Smiled he. “Though I’m stronger than you, I find impossible to use my strength to do something like it. Sowing seeds to share the laws and harvesting the laws once they have grown enough. Such method to comprehend the laws is something bordering the impossible. Perhaps, the only reason because you were able to succeed, is precisely because your true form is not a human.”
Hearing the man words, the woman shuddered in fright. To think he was able to see through her disguise so easily.
“Don’t be surprised. Through your disguise is flawless, you cannot deceive fate. I was able to see through you from the first time I came to this world.”
Smiling softly, the man looked at the clouds floating around the mountain. Then, with a sip of his wine, he asked.
“What is your name?”
“… Erde.” Answered her. “My children gave me that name.”
“Is it so? Very fitting.”
Staring at the woman seated behind him, the man smiled and signaled with his hand.
“You see, Erde. That boy has a bit of relation with me. Because of it, I cannot allow you to hurt him. So, I must forbid you from acting. I don’t mind the method you use to cultivate or how you go harvesting the seeds you sowed around. However, the boy is off-limits.”
Hearing the words of the man, Erde sighed in obvious relief. Then, looking beyond the mountains, she spoke, this time noticeably calmer. “You misunderstand, your highness. Though I certainly interfered with the natural laws governing this world and gifted seeds to both beast and humans, in the end, I can be considered a nature spirit. My personality is kind by nature. What reason I have to interfere now?”

“Is it so?” Smiled the man. “Even if the boy grows outside your system? If he reaches transcendence, it’s possible for him to fight you, you know.”
“That is not going to happen.” Said Erde. “After all, I never hurt anyone. Even if he dislikes the seeds inside his companion, he hasn’t a motive to attack me. After all, I didn’t intend to hurt her. I have enough time to wait. The seed will eventually return to me; even if I have to wait thousands of years.”
Looking at the chubby woman expression, the man smiled softly. “You are right. I don’t know of any creature able to surpass the lifespan of a world.
“Very well, Erde. You can go now. I guess I will wait for my wives for a bit.”
Tera looked the man’s back after hearing his words. Then, standing up, she bowed slightly.
“Many thanks, your highness. If not for you, I would have to wait for a long time before getting an irregularity. With him, perhaps I will be able to perfect my system.”
“… You don’t have to thank me, I did nothing. The boy has the talent, I only gave the last push… Besides, he is not the only irregularity in this world.”
“You are right.” Said the woman. “But he is different from the others. In the end, the first irregularity was born from the world, so I’m unable to give her my seed. As for the second… She was an accident. She is inside the system yet…”
“… Is it so?”
Smiling softly, the man gulped the last bit of wine in his cup. Then, with a sigh, he stretched his body.
The chubby woman, Erde, had already left the place.

To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. However, there’s little hope for survival in a tournament designed to have demons do the work of the executioner, especially for a human. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. Small Pond
In a world without systems, levels, or any standard power levels, Faust is a naturally skeptical person who always asks questions first and accepts after he gets confirmation. A lot of it. With some information unknown to the reader, represented as [?], Faust is left to discover who kidnapped him, where he is, if magic exists, and what to do while the reader silently observes him. And as for the YOU dear reader, I'll need your help choosing some things... Small Pond isn't meant to be a high-paced action light novel, but instead, there's a greater focus on world and character building in order to create a greater narrative. Expect the unexpected in this story ;) The release schedule will be paused, for now, I'm going to try and spend some time rethinking the intro and work on school.
