Chapter 72 – A Week
Besides a lake, a youth was currently seated with his eyes closed. On his legs, a small book filled with explanations and images was opened.
Only a bit of sunlight fell between the threes’ leaves, but it was enough to warm the youth and relax his body. After a day of traveling through the forest, the small rest could be considered well deserved.
It had been a week from the day when Aiden and Lia left the town of Cali. The pair, following Old Fern’s advice, decided to travel through the lost forest towards the place where the ancient tomb had been discovered. Though the place was deep inside the lost forest, the pair had around two years to reach there, so they were pretty relaxed during the travel.
As the old man said, the lost forest was a pretty good place to train. After all, a great number of demonic beasts inhabited the forest together with abundant natural resources. It created a perfect place which allowed to fight and gather resources constantly, increasing the battle experience and speed of cultivation greatly.
For Aiden, such a place was perfect to increase quickly his strength. After all, He and Lia lacked the resources available in large clans, so they only could opt to search for them inside the forest. Besides, only enough combat experience can help Aiden to possibly have a hope of completing his cultivation method.
Of course, they had to be able to survive inside the forest before it.
Fortunately, though the tomb was located in the forest, it wasn’t in the most dangerous part of it. Instead, it was in a relatively safe area.
But though the place was relatively safe, Aiden knew better to not underestimating the forest.
After all, it was normal for a powerful demonic to beast appear suddenly in the forest’s outskirts; and such cases were even more frequent the deeper you were in.

The last few days spent in the forest could be considered pretty relaxing to the pair. Aside from a few reckless beasts who attacked them during the travel, they didn’t find any problem.
Aiden, of course, welcomed such situation. After all, though the main reason because he entered the forest was to train, he had to admit that their current relaxed travel had helped him to calm his emotions after the events in the town.
Feeling the soft breeze caressing his face, Aiden relaxed completely his body while feeling the afternoon sun in his skin. They had reached this lake a few hours ago, and after seeing it, the pair decided to use the place to camp during the night.
A few minutes later, Aiden finally set the camp up. The task of setting the camp had become easier after receiving a few gadgets from the old smith. The fact that the camp was very comfy added a few plus points to it.
Lia, for her part, was currently preparing dinner. The lost forest wasn’t a place lacking in food, so the pair only brought a few seasonings with them during the travel. Aiden had to admit that a spacious storage space was very convenient when traveling. After all, they simply had to store the things they were going to need during the time traveling without fear of being unable to transport it.
Opening slightly his eyes, Aiden drew a deep breath before exhaling lazily. He already was able to smell the food. Lia probably was going to finish soon.
With a small smile in his face, Aiden looked towards the place where she was cooking. Currently, she was wearing serious expression while testing the food’s taste
His relationship with Lia was another thing going well lately. After that night in the city lord’s mansion, Aiden and Lia had become even closer than before. They practically spend all the time laughing and teasing each other.

It would be good if such days could last forever. With such thought in his mind, Aiden looked towards the book in his legs.
The book that Aiden was currently reading was the one given by the old man the night before leaving the town. Aiden had been studying it every time he had a bit of time. He had read the book two times, but even so, he continued finding it interesting.
The book didn’t have a title, and neither was it very long. However, its content was very profound. Aiden was sure that the book’s worth was incredibly great; even comparable with a top cultivation method.
The book could be considered a blacksmithing manual, but its contents were enough to leave Aiden astonished. He wasn’t sure about the number of times he ended lost in thoughts after reading a bit about it.
Unfortunately, the book wasn’t very useful to Aiden.
After all, though Aiden learned blacksmithing for a short time, it was only with the purpose to investigate about spirits. Currently, he doesn’t have enough time to delve into blacksmithing, no matter how profound it is.
The only reason because he continues reading it, is because of the old man’s words.
Giving a last look at the book, Aiden closed it before storing it in his spatial ring.
At some time, Lia had appeared behind him, waiting for him to read the book. She was carrying the food with her. Apparently, she had finished cooking the food while he was reading.
With a soft smile on her face, she sat beside Aiden before handing a plate of food to him.
“I’m sorry for the wait, young master.”
Receiving the food, Aiden smiled slightly towards Lia. “Thanks, I was already hungry.”
The pair began to eat practically immediately. After all, a day of walking through the forest was very taxing to the body. Even Aiden and Lia, being cultivators, found themselves hungry constantly.
None of them spoke a word during the meal. The atmosphere, however, didn’t become awkward. Instead, Aiden and Lia ate while smiling softly, enjoying the company of each other.
Half an hour later, when the pair finished their meal, they began to wash the dishes.
Looking at the scene of Lia washing the dishes with a smile on her face, Aiden again thought about how nice it would be if they could live like this forever.
“Y-Young master, don’t stare so much…” With a small blush on her face, Lia spoke after noticing Aiden’s gaze set in her.
Smiling softly, Aiden simply caressed Lia’s face softly. Then, moving softly his head, he kissed slowly her lips.
“You were very cute just now…”
“… Young master, at least wait until later…”
“… Now that you said it, I think we can finish it tomorrow.” And with an evil smirk on his face, he carried Lia towards the tent.
That night, the pair didn’t sleep until later.

The Stars Have Eyes
The universe was a vast, empty, dark, and uncaring place. Then life happened, and the universe was changed forever. Only a teeny-tiny bit, but definitely different. Then again, the universe changes a teeny-tiny bit every second of every day. For instance, if someone were to get off the couch and randomly drink a glass of milk? Bam! One less glass of milk in the universe. Changed forever. Well, excluding any time-travel shenanigans, but anyone who puts a big old hole in the time-space continuum just to un-drink a glass of milk should really reevaluate their priorities. Unless, of course, they were attempting to prevent some massive catastrophe vis-a-vis said glass of milk. Such a scenario is by no means impossible, as one should never underestimate the importance of calcium. Another important tip for any life forms out there is to keep things in perspective. Some look at the vastness of creation in relation to themselves and go, ‘Man, this sucks!’ These people really need to narrow their focus. Sure, they will never affect anything happening on the other end of the galaxy, but so what? That’s way the heck over there, where it doesn’t matter. Therefore, in order to maintain a healthy mindset, it is important to narrow one’s perspective to the things and people that affect them, and that they can affect in turn. But what happens if one is an unfathomable cosmic being from beyond the veil of reality? What happens when such an existence is capable of influencing entire swathes of the universe just by its presence? A creature such as Magh'rathlak the Observer? That particular entity is only about average as far as reality-warping creatures from the dawn of time go, so its influence over the fabric of reality is rather limited. And it still struggles to keep things in perspective. That, among other things, is why it decided to narrow its worldview a bit by compressing the maddening vastness of its being into a single corporeal form. Magh'rathlak had never tried such a feat, but that wasn't about to stop it. After all, how hard could being human possibly be?

Another World's Homunculus
Ellis Murrin died an unexpected death, but before he could experience the sweet bliss of eternal rest, a God-like being whisked him away. The God told a tale of another world in grave jeopardy and the need for a hero (or several heroes) to go there and save the people. It was looking to be a typical story of transmigration when suddenly, something unexpected happened. Now, he finds himself standing in the middle of an ancient tomb, with a lineage that wasn’t exactly normal and a body that wasn’t entirely human. Reincarnation of a Businessman
A businessman is betrayed by those he holds dearest and reincarnates into a mystical world of cultivation where the power of a single person can split the heavens. However, his reincarnation does not go smoothly... ******************** This is a xianxia (cultivation/progression fantasy) story which fuses a lot of western fantasy elements. This story includes POV's of different characters which are all going to be developed in the future and will have an effect on the story. The novel is named after the reincarnation of the businessman which serves as a cataclysm in the world of cultivation, and while the MC uses some of his business knowledge, this novel is not centered around the MC creating a business empire. I plan to extend the story into at least 2 books, both taking place in the same world. ******************** Updates will happen once every 2 days, but this is often going to change to once every day or once every 3 days because I am not currently writing full-time, and neither is my editor.
