《God Blade (Hiatus)》Chapter 28: The Miracle

Theo returned to his room. He was elated. The previous night was one of the best night he ever had. It was rare enough to sleep with more than one women at the same time, but four? That was another thing entirely. Theo laid his body next to the sleeping Vivi, rubbed her cheek, and kissed her. She woke up. "Ur... Sorry. Didn't mean to wake you up." He said. She replied his kiss. "It's fine. You have fun last night Theo-Sama?" "Of course. I won't miss a night with you unless I have fun." She hugged him and played with the necklace on his neck. She took the pendant. "Theo-Sama. Please tell me about your other woman. Especially this...."She looked at the name on the necklace. "Mary." It was early in the morning, he has a lot of time. He told her about his women. He talked a lot about those in Aeston in great detail, especially Mary. "So what is so special about this Mary?" She asked. "I.....don't know honestly. But that is love, isn't it? When someone is so special to you, so important to you, yet you don't even know why." "What about me? What is unique and special about me?" She asked. "Well, you looked cute and innocent, on the outside." He answered. "But deep inside... "He ran his finger from her chin down to space between her breast. "Is an animal." "Between all of us, who is your favorite?" "No one. It's my policy not to take favorite." 'Liar.' She thought, but she didn't say it. "Now that I have told you about myself, tell me about you, Vivi. The world you used to live in before this one, how is it like?" Vivi put a finger on her chin to act cute."It was a lame world compared to this one. There's no magic there, only technologies. My everyday activities were very monotonous. I woke up in the morning, worked in the office until night, returned to my apartment, then watched TV in my homes or played some games until I fell asleep. No families, no friends, no lover." "I don't know what apartment, TV, or computer is, but I get your point." "Until one day, something called VMMORPG was invented in my world. I won't tell you what it was, explaining it would take ages. It was the only fun thing in my life for years. Until the server crashed and instead of logging out, I was sent to this world. Which somehow, make my life a lot more entertaining." She then grabbed her own breast. "Except for this. In this new world, it becomes small." Theo grabbed her hand and moved it from her breast. "Why? it's perfect for you. Also, aside from magic and me. What make this world more interesting for you?" "Hmm." She took her time thinking. "I guess, Lyana. She's a more complex and sophisticated person than I thought. She has a lot of thing going on in her life lately. Also, the inhabitant of this world. Compared to my previous world, the standard of beauty here is really high. Even the average people here can be considered attractive in my original world." "Well, that is a boring world indeed." "Speaking of Lyana, are you really won't try to make any advance toward her Theo-Sama?" "I won't make any advance, I'm true to my word. But that doesn't mean I've given up on her. It's a reverse trick. I was nice to her at first, then when she said she won't be my girl, I became an ass to her. Then you come, which I showered with praise, approval, and everything I once gave her. Consciously or not, she will try to seek my attention and my approval. Usually it won't work because the woman could just get away from me, but in this case, she couldn't." "Hoo. That is a nice trick you have there Theo-Sama." "Well, being charming and handsome alone is not good enough to have a harem of women with diverse personality." Vivi took his hand and placed it on her collar. "Won't you take this off already Theo-Sama?" "No. Not yet." She sat up, abandoning her previous cute act. "Why?!" She shouted. "Are you still don't trust me?" Theo averted his gaze from Vivi toward the ceiling. "Hmm. How do I say this? It's not that I don't trust you. It's just...... the recent event makes me doubt my judgment." Noticing his troubled face, Vivi laid her body back next to him. "Is something wrong?" "It's Aria, the princess.....have you ever met someone that truly impress you, Vivi?" "Yes. You." Theo chuckled. "Of course, I shouldn't have asked. But for me, it's rare, aside from the obvious Sir Arslan who is my life-long idol. After meeting so many people, I rarely get impressed by someone on our first meeting, but Aria....... She's different. They way she spoke, the way she acted, her body language, everything about her seems out of this world. My mind, my body, and my heart told me that I can trust her. I found no lie in her words and I have double checked it. But deep inside, somewhere deep in my heart, something feels....off and I can't put it into word. It's strange, I never felt like this before." -------- In the afternoon, Theo wanted to show Vivi his work, the adventurer guild. They didn't need any money. They still have a lot from the reward of saving the princess. Since they didn't have anything productive to do and Theo has no plan with the princesses, they might as well finish some quest. Lyana didn't follow them to the adventurer guild because there was a chance some adventurers could see through Lyana disguising magic. They couldn't take the risk. Theo and Vivi entered the adventurer guild. The building was more grandeur than the one in Aeston, but it was expected. The capital offers more opportunity for stronger people after all. The lounge area was crowded, it was lunch time after all. The foods and drinks sold inside were quite cheap and they weren't that bad. Unlike most occasions, however, Theo and Vivi wasn't the center of attention. There was only one possibility, someone really famous was there. Theo was correct. There was a group of really famous people there. A group consisted of 3 people, women, beautiful, and very, very powerful. They were the members of 'Miracle', a dragon-ranked adventurer party. One of the only three in the kingdom. Dragon ranked adventurers were considered to be among the most powerful people in the continent. They were also considered as heroes and celebrities by the masses in the continent. They received only the most dangerous and important mission and quest. Because of that, they usually went away for a few month to complete a single quest, then spent another few months lazing around without any quest fitting of their power. The payment they got was astronomical. Completing a dragon-ranked quest was enough to pay enough nice meal for the rest of each member's life. It was quite the sight seeing them hanging around in the guild. "You're aiming for them too Theo-Sama?" Vivi asked after noticing Theo looking at them. "What? O-Oh, n-no no. Not now at least. After their last male member left them, they became super protective if anyone tries to get close. I need a plan if want to get close to them and right now, my hands are full because of the succession war. Now, let's get a quest and get out from here. Fast." A voice interrupted him. "Please, the people need help. Please, this is for the better of the city." A female guard was trying to get the attention adventurers, but none heed her. She looked tomboyish with her short hair and because of that, no one cared about her. But not Theo. Theo could imagine how she would look like if her hair was long, she could be cute. Her body wasn't that bad either. She got a nice muscle tone and she wasn't overly muscular. Despite wearing men's uniforms, there was still some feminine side about her. Theo approached her. "Hey." She was startled by Theo. "W-What?" "Sorry to surprise you but you said something about helping the people." "A-Ah yes It-" She stopped speaking. Her gaze moved from the paper in her hand to Theo's face. She jumped and saluted. "S-Sir Theo! I'm sorry I didn't realize it was you." "Relax. Speaking of which, you know my name but I don't know yours." "A-Ah yes. forgive my rudeness. I'm Cissy Dilon, Sir." "Nice to meet you Cissy, and stop with the formal manner. I'm not so different than you Cissy, I can call you that right? I'm a commoner who just so happen to be at the right place at the right time." "A-ah. Okay, Si.... okay uh... Theo." Her face turned red from embarrassment. "Wait, aren't you a Redmound Keep's guard. Yes, I saw you during my ceremony." "Y-You notice me Si-...Theo?" "Of course, there's no way I wouldn't notice a cute girl like you." She went silent and her face turned serious. "I am not a cute girl! I'm a proud guard of the Redmound Keep and a soldier of the Royal Army! A soldier must not be cute!" She shouted. There was a strong emotion akin to anger behind her voice. After a few moment of silence and staring, she realized that she was inside a building full of people. She quickly bowed her head. "I-I'm sorry fo-" "Anyway!" Theo interrupted her. "You said that you have a quest. I want to hear it." "Y-Yes!" She stood up straight again and handed Theo the paper in her hand. It was a request to kill some monster in the Sewer below the city. Their number had been increasing these past few months and they began attacking those who live near the Sewer entrance. It was a normal quest paper, but looking a the difficulties of the quest and the reward, he understood why no one bothered with it. The quest was under-rewarded. It has a chimera-rank difficulty but only a reward of tiger-rank. "It's very low reward," Theo said. Cissy sighed and looked down in disappointment. "I'm sorry to bother yo-" Theo grabbed her shoulder before she could walk away. "No, that's not what I mean. Who requested this quest?" She looked around, embarrassed. "Me. That's why the reward is so low. I....I'm using my own money." "I'm in." he said promptly. She opened her eyes in surprise. Theo could see the hope inside her eyes. "R-Really?" "Yes. Yes, I'm in. " Theo looked around "Now, now, let's talk about the detail outside, okay? We need to get out from here fast." -------- In the lounge area, three women sat around a table. Around them, adventurers of all rank were watching them, some even walked to them and asked an autograph. They thought it was a good idea to have a lunch inside the adventurer guild. Oh, how wrong they were. "I'm really starting to lose my appetite." One of them said. She was a Nipponese woman a long black hair that tied in a ponytail. A man approached them out of nowhere. "Hey, I'm your biggest fan! Can I get an-" Before he could finish his sentence, one of the three, a woman wearing a red cloak and a red hood, faced the man. "FUCK OFF! WE'RE HAVING A LUNCH IN HERE YOU TWAT!" And screamed right in front of his face. The man back off and the red-hooded woman sat back on her chair. "I agree with Tomoe. Vex, we should get out from here. These, self-proclaimed weak adventurers have no manner." She said to the last of the three while throwing her food off the table. The last of the three, however, was staring at the crowd and moved her head in a strange way. She was looking for someone. "Vex, what are you looking at?"`The Nipponese woman named Tomoe asked. "A person. Someone I know." "Someone you know in this heap of trash? You must be joking Vex." The red-hooded woman replied. "No, there's no way I've mistaken him for someone else. His face is... how do I say it? Special." Tomoe raised her head. "Him? One of your ex, Vex?" "No. He's a friend, a very special friend." "But if he's your friend, won't he approach you?" "Well, he's been avoiding me for the last few years." "Why?" "Because.... I hurt his pride, I guess. He thought he was so good in bed that no women could dominate him. I proved him wrong. I proved him to be very wrong." She said with pride behind her voice.

Starlight Antiquities
There is a place in the galaxy that deals in antiquities of all kinds, human and non-human alike. Its inventory of artifacts is colossal as is its inventory of mercs who they hire to acquire any artifact a client may wish that is yet to come into their possession. The ill-reputable business is constantly rubbing against the changing tolerance of the Union's government, and there are many security officers who would love nothing better than to vaporize the whole place with its owners inside. Yet, there are many tasks that nobody can do better, especially in the vastness of deep space where Union law is worth less than the energy needed to display it. One of its jobs involves finding an artifact that may not only hold the future of the human race but may also disturb the balance of the whole galaxy. *** While waiting for the next season of Mandalorian and the Witcher, and rewatching Firefly for the gazillionth of time, I decided to write this space-based series. The series has some litRPG elements in it, but it does not read like one. So, you won't run into any blue screens here. Yet, I wanted to use litRPG to give another dimension to this whole story and make it as unique as possible. This is a work-in-progress. Hope to keep on improving and fixing my mistakes as I go along.
