《Private Academy System》Chapter 19: Paperwork

Upon realizing just how much money would be spent on the initial start-up of the school, Ensen felt already felt his bank account crying.
Deciding to head to bed now, he made his way over to his bedroom and flung himself onto the bed. Trying his hardest to stay awake, Ensen lifted up his blankets and went under them to get as cozy as possible and placed his phone on the nightstand. Then, he felt his consciousness fade.
Ensen slept soundly that night. Although there were countless elements of his future that he was unsure about, he tried to not let it bother him.
After a long sleep, Ensen slowly grumbled as he opened his eyes still feeling tired. He simply laid in bed, staring at the ceiling for quite a while in deep thought.
After about 30 minutes he realized 'I didn't check my phone last night did I?' He said not too concerned. He didn't really have any people who messaged him anyways. There was Jennifer who he messaged early in the day, but she was most likely beginning the process of transferring the land and didn't have much time for Jennifer. Not like she would make time for Ensen either way, it's not like they were close. They only met two times after all.
But still, he decided he should check his phone just in case there was something he needed to respond to. Grabbing his phone from the nightstand next to his bed, he slowly turned it on and looked at the surprisingly large number of notifications he had.
'Wait, most of these are for games.' Ensen thought slightly annoyed.
Quickly clearing all of the game notifications, Ensen was met with two real notifications.
The first as he expected was from Jennifer, informing him that she had just begun the process of transferring land and it would take a few days. She would also need him to come down to a local lawyers office to sign some papers for the transfer. Noticing that his theory had been on point, Ensen wore a light smile as he turned his gaze towards the other notification.
Surprisingly this message was from Emilia, his former boss. Curious about what she had sent, Ensen quickly opened the message up. After a few seconds, he finished reading the message. It wasn't anything urgent, Emilia simply wanted to know how he had been and how the process of setting up his Academy was coming along.
Looking at the time stamp for the message, Ensen realized she had sent it around one pm yesterday. Deciding he shouldn't make her wait for him any longer, he began to slowly write an appropriate response. Ensen wasn't particularly good at texting, so he needed to try quite a bit in order to construct a decent message.

Writing that he had been having a lot of fun the past few days, he concluded by saying how the establishment of his Academy was coming along surprisingly well and invited her to come to visit once it was all up and running.
Satisfied with his message, Ensen quickly sent that before turning his gaze back to Jennifer's message. Unlike his thorough and well thought out message with Emilia, he just responded with a simple confirmation.
Deciding he should sign those papers as soon as possible so it would be processed faster, Ensen forced himself out of bed. Once standing up he stared at the bed with a look of longing.
Knowing that he'll be back in bed sometime soon, Ensen began to throw some random clothes on. He wasn't really in the mood to be picky about what he was wearing. After randomly picking, he grabbed a black t-shirt, and light grey jeans. Feeling that it was good enough, Ensen quickly put them on while talking to the kitchen.
Not wanting to spend too much time making something, he slowly opened the fridge and grabbed a yogurt cup. Closing the fridge, he grabbed a banana that was resting on the counter and quickly ate both of them.
Making his way to the front entrance, he slowly pulled out his phone and checked the weather. Upon seeing it would be rather cold similar to yesterday he put on his shoes and grabbed his jacket. After Ensen had made his way towards his car, he quickly started it up and began driving.
Deciding he should get a coffee before signing any legal documents just to be safe, he pulled into the nearby businessmen park and got himself a black coffee through a drive-through.
Afterward, Ensen began to slowly sip on the drink and arrived at the lawyer's office after about 20 minutes. Pulling into a parking space close to the entrance, he quickly chugged the remaining coffee to ensure he was awake. Upon exiting the car and locking it, he slowly walked towards a nearby trash can and threw the empty coffee cup into the trash. Luckily after the coffee he had mostly woken up.
Entering the lawyer's office, Ensen was quickly greeted by a young lady and asked to sign some forms to give permission to have a property granted to him with the conditions previously laid out by Jennifer.
After reading the forms closely, he realized there were no errors or traps in the writing. Well at least none he could see which was good enough for him. He doubted that there would be any hidden in here anyway.

After quickly filling out the forms, Ensen promptly returned to his car and began to leisurely drive home. The traffic was pretty light today for some reason, so Ensen decided to drive around for a little bit to clear his head.
There had been a constant stream of big decisions lately from deciding to start an Academy, to finding the location and negotiating. That was not nearly the extent of his decisions either.
Ensen soon saw his apartment building appear in his vision. Deciding he would like to keep driving, he began making his way over to the plot of land. But he was not going inside the plot, but drive around the area and see what was surrounding it. It did not take him long to arrive near the area because of the light traffic.
After he had arrived Ensen began to drive around the area aimlessly, seemingly soaking in the area. There were old churches, homes, and many other buildings. They all had one thing in common however, they were all extremely old. This area just outside of town had existed for a long time even before the industrial revolution. When the industrial revolution hit many people immigrated to the newly established city, not that far away which led the area being in its current state.
Nearly an hour after he began driving around, he was satisfied with what he had learned and began to return home. Unfortunately however, the traffic had begun to become busier as it was later in the day. Taking quite a while to arrive home, Ensen didn't really mind it. He simply stared out of the window aimlessly.
He felt that this break from his now stressful life was healthy every once and awhile. Although he also knew that it would only become more busy and stressful from now on, after all running a private Academy is no simple task.
After a while Ensen managed to pull into his apartment building. Slowly getting out of the car, he began walking towards the entrance when he noticed a familiar person with a heavy wool coat and light-brown hair a few feet in front of him. She also wore black ankle boots.
'Oh It's Kaitlin.' Ensen thought to himself, wanting to approach her but slightly freaked out by her.
Curiosity and slight fear began having a battle in Ensen's mind while he was keeping just a small distance from her. After a few seconds curiosity won the battle.
Making up his mind, he decided to keep his current pace and just talk on the elevator. He didn't want to run up next to her like last time.
After a few more seconds Kaitlin approached the elevator and lightly pressed the up button. Waiting for the elevator to arrive, she began to look at her surroundings when she saw Ensen begin to approach her.
Seeing this, Kaitlin moved her gaze upwards as if she didn't notice anything.
Feeling slightly hurt by her action, Ensen still decided to approach her. Trying to act as confident as he could, he walked up and slowly arrived a few feet from her.
"Hey, how are you today?" Ensen said with a nice tone while waving his right hand slightly in a kind gesture.
Hearing Ensen talk, Kaitlin turned her gaze directly at Ensen and said with slight annoyance in her voice "What do you want?"
Taken aback by her unhidden hostility, Ensen smiled awkwardly and said lightly "I just want to know how you are today. I have no other motives."
Staring at Ensen directly in the eyes, Kaitlin said in a grumpy tone "I'm good."
Slightly sweating from her piercing green eyes, Ensen did a mental fist pump when she responded.
The elevator quickly arrived and they both entered. Since they lived on the same floor Ensen pressed the button on the elevator. Hoping that they could talk more, he turned his gaze towards Kaitlin who was standing in the corner. But quickly noticing her hostile gaze he decided to hold off on that until next time.
The doors of the elevator soon opened on their floor. They both exited the elevator and began walking.
Uncomfortable with the current situation, Kaitlin began hastening her steps towards her apartment.
As she was about to enter, Ensen said "Goodbye Kaitlin."
As soon as Ensen finished speaking the door to Kaitlin's apartment closed. Confused by her antics, Ensen quickly entered his own apartment and walked towards the living room after taking off his shoes and coat.
