《The Apocalypse Show - Dungeon Core》Chapter 23

The professor snuggled up against me and trailed a hand down my chest. Then she looked up at me. “I only have one regret.” She said with an exhausted smile.
I looked at her with a bit of a frown. “What’s that?”
“I know you told me yesterday, but for the life of me I can’t remember your name.” I couldn’t help but laugh. “It’s Arthur Anderson. Speaking of which, I know your last name is Hanson but I don’t know what your first name is.” I answered with a grin.
“It’s Jennifer.” She said and then snuggled up against me. A couple minutes later she pulled away and stood up. “That’s odd, I’m not even sore.” She said with a frown.
“Ah. I used a bit of magic to manage that. I have some basic healing spells.” I admitted and she gave me a slightly surprised look.
“You’re going to have to teach me that magic.” She said and then turned around and headed towards the bathroom.
I admired the view as she walked away. I could see my seed leaking down her legs from her pussy. “I’m going to take a shower and then get back to work.” She said and then opened the bathroom door and walked inside. I gave her a couple minutes and then rolled out of bed and followed her into the bathroom.
It was nearly an hour later before we managed to make it out of the bathroom. “How about I give you that tour now?” I asked. Jennifer nodded and smiled.
I started with the deepest part of the dungeon which was where the goblins were working on the eighth room. Then we proceeded towards the entrance with a slight detour for the goblin section. She was very interested in the garden and goblin sections.
We ended up at the entrance to the dungeon. Jennifer was staring at the entrance to the cave with a look that I couldn’t read. “Penny for your thoughts?” I asked her.

She looked at me with a wistful look. “Just realizing that I need to accept that this is the end of my world now. I’m used to being able to go anywhere I want.”
Ouch, that hurt a bit. I had kind of been hoping that she would adapt to being a part of my dungeon easier. I almost went ahead and removed the collar from her right there. The only thing that stopped me was that she had told me that the forest was no longer safe.
I wasn’t able to send any of my minions to escort her back home. My only option was to wait until the sheriff returned. She would probably be safe if they escorted her back. Probably wasn’t definitely safe though. Even the town itself wasn’t safe though. She had already told me that the townspeople had boarded up their houses.
My mind was working on how to make sure she would be safe when she suddenly seemed to break out of her contemplation. “Let’s head back. I’d like to start categorizing those plants in the garden room.” She said in a dispassionate voice.
A few minutes later she was busily working. I had helped clear an area in the garden for her. After I finished moving all her equipment to the new area I decided to give her some space. It wasn’t like my avatar didn’t have anything better to do besides stare at her as she worked. I could always practice magic more. Of course that didn’t stop the dungeon core part of my consciousness from watching her the entire time. I’d gotten really good at focusing on multiple things at the same time.
At the same time my dungeon core mind was busy coming up with ideas to help protect the professor. I finally came up with a plan a few hours later. It would depend on the answer to a few questions though. I’d also have to rely on the shop and my magic.

For ten points I purchased my fourth magic book from the shop. It was simply called basic enchanting theory. With it I’d be able to cast very simple enchantments on items. Unfortunately in order to create tier two enchantments like my Warhammer and necklace I’d need to purchase another book called mundane enchanting theory. That was a tier three item that would cost me a hundred points. It would be worth it though if I could create my own tier two items instead of buying them from the store. Once I created them once I could absorb them and then recreate them using my dungeon core mana.
The best part was that I could use my orc avatar’s mana pool to enchant new items. Considering my avatar had the same intelligence and wisdom as my dungeon, and therefore the same capacity and regen, this was excellent news.
I already knew a tiny bit about enchanting magic. For instance I had to use enchanting to create the plumbing system in the bathroom. However, all of those spells were very basic and casting them was like following a recipe. Without learning enchanting theory I’d never be able to create anything besides tier one items. Even then I’d only be able to cast the exact enchantments I’d learn from the other books. I wouldn’t be able to modify them in ways such as making them more or less powerful. Which was why the heating for the plumbing had been so hard to figure out.
It took hours before I began to create my first item. I created a ring imbued with a blood magic healing spell. Unlike me casting blood magic healing, it didn’t draw as much power from the wound itself. Because of that the enchantment would only last a day before running out.
Unfortunately it also lacked the same level of power. In effect it would only be slightly more effective than first aid. I suspected most people wouldn’t believe it was useful during a fight. In reality it was probably nearly as useful as my bullet deflecting amulet. Its power increased with how serious the injury was. It may not fully heal the wearer but it would be able to keep them fighting through most injuries. Most importantly it would eventually stabilize the wearer of anything that wasn’t instantly fatal, even if they were unconscious. The biggest limit was that it couldn’t do anything for broken bones.
The ring was just the beginning of the things I wanted to be able to create, and was underpowered compared to my ultimate goal. Eventually I planned to create something as powerful as when I actively used blood magic to heal. However, it was still a decent item, and a good test for the types of items I’d be able to create. It may even have some uses in my dungeon, with how injury prone goblins are, I was considering making copies of the ring for each of them. For now I had better things to do with my mana, such as making more enchanted items.
For the next hour I exhausted half my avatar’s mana making enchanted items. Everything from canteens that refilled themselves to a variety of rings. One of my favorites was a ring that provided limited protection against fire. It wasn’t as good as a firefighters suit but it was significantly better than nothing. And it was a simple ring instead of an entire bulky outfit.
I still had a lot to learn, but by the time I decided to wrap up I felt confident that I’d be able to create tier two items in a few days. I just needed to purchase that other book and practice a bit more. Meanwhile all of the items I had created so far would have cost me a point each in the store. And I could create more of them with either my core or avatar’s mana pool.

{The Dragon Within} (Completed)
Meeting his fate at the hands of seven great heroes, the wicked drake now stands in Death's hall. Met with the Grim Reaper itself. Defeated and its pride broken, the drake doesn’t beg or grovel, it simply awaits judgement. It waits for the God of the afterlife to send it on its way, to either the heights of bliss and peace or where it knew it would be sent. The depths of agony and torture, the halls of Tartarus, the father of monsters. Grim looked up from its oaken desk and down at the creature that would have otherwise, if grown wiser and older, matched the reaper itself in power. Its faceless guise, hidden by a black hood and whirling shadows, it briefly stared at the drake. “You are unfit for the sky yet also too fit for the abyss,” Grim spoke, its voice a cracking whisper. “Your time came too soon, the actions you have taken will lead your world to ruin…Be reborn, pitiful serpent. Yet remember what you have done, see what your actions have made that realm into. Let me show you, how your greed and gluttony have warped such a wonderful place and time.” Grim raised its black-feathered pen towards the beast “Be reborn, as the weak pitiful creature you should have been born as. Take this both as a punishment and…a learning experience. For failure, can be the best teacher.” The drake took a step back, hoping to escape this cruel fate. Yet none escaped Death, less so its embodiment. Screaming shadows engulfed his form, ripping away at his body and shape. Fangs of darkness sinking deep into his draconic flesh, warping it, changing him into something else… Opening his eyes, the wicked drake felt none of its power, none of its magic and none of its might. As it stood at the edge of a cliff, looking down upon a ruined valley of rot and miasma. It glanced down at itself, seeing none of its sturdy scales or sharp claws. The drake had been reborn... As a Human. Will also be posting on CreativeNovels found here; CrN Where chapters will be posted earlier than RRL.
