《Dimensional Paradise》Chapter 115 – Claire’s Illness (1)

London, 12:01 pm.
Aleen was seated in the waiting room of a hospital.
It had been ten minutes from the moment when Claire was admitted to the hospital after she was brought in by an ambulance.
She was immediately brought into the emergency room, and a middle-aged doctor began to check her situation. But Aleen did not hear anything else about her from then.
Currently, he was waiting to hear the doctor’s diagnostic.
Due to her illness, Claire had been hospitalized more than once when she was a child; and sometimes, she had to spend many days inside the hospital.
However, her situation had improved in the last few years.
With the help of medical treatment, the doctors had reduced the symptoms and allowed her to live a normal daily life.
So, though she was still ill, and the symptoms sometimes returned, the last time that she fainted was a few years ago.
This was the first time she fainted in a long time.
While Aleen was worried waiting for news about Claire, someone touched his shoulder.
“… Are you alright?”
Aleen moved his gaze and saw that Aya had appeared beside him without him noticing.
“… How come you are here?” He asked with a bit of surprise on his voice.
“I heard someone in the ambulance saying that they were going to bring Claire to this hospital, so I came here. Lily is waiting outside.”
Aleen nodded briefly.
He noticed that Aya’s clothes were slightly tattered. Aleen changed his clothes while waiting for the ambulance to come, but Aya continued using the clothes that Claire lent her yesterday; the same clothes she used in the game.
“… Claire... Is she alright?” She asked concerned.
Aleen shook his head with a worried expression. “I don’t know. The doctor has not said anything.”

At that moment, the middle-aged doctor that attended Claire came out from the emergency room.
“Doctor, what happened?” Aleen stood up instantly and walked towards him.
“You are the familiar of Claire Kane, right?” He said while looking at Aleen. “I must say that the situation was a bit dangerous when she came, but fortunately, she already is out of danger.”
Aleen sighed in relief.
The doctor then continued. “Your sister is a special case, and our hospital has access to her medical record. We hydrated her and used 2mm of Tylenol to decrease her fever, but her situation is still delicate. Though she is out of danger, we still need to observe her a bit more.”
Aleen nodded in understating.
The middle-aged doctor stared at Aleen and sighed. “To be honest, miss Claire was very lucky this time. She had fainted for more than one hour when she was brought here; twenty minutes later and her life and death would have been in the hands of God. If I can ask, why did you take so long to call the ambulance?”
Aleen put on a complicated expression and shook his head slightly. “I was not at home when she fainted. When I reached home and realized the situation, I called to the hospital immediately.”
“I must say that it was a negligence of your part!” The doctor frowned and spoke harshly. “Your sister suffers from a dangerous and strange illness, and she cannot be left alone for long periods of time. How can you be so careless to leave her alone while you go out? At least, ask your neighbor to keep an eye on her!”
Aleen wanted to say something, but he realized that there was no way that he could explain the reason because he was out, so he simply nodded guiltily. “It's my fault, I'll be more careful next time.”

“It’s good if you understand. Currently, she is still unconscious and under observation, so you cannot see her; but when she wakes up, we will call you.”
“I understand. Thank you, doctor.”
The doctor nodded and dismissed himself. Aleen then took a deep breath and calmed his mind.
“It’s good that she is fine.” He muttered.
He then turned around and saw that Aya was behind him. She had heard the doctor’s words and despite her expressionless look, Aleen could see that she was visibly relieved.
Aleen looked at her tattered clothes and tired face and felt a bit guilty. Aya had entered the game early in the morning with him; there, she fought and ran constantly for four hours straight and afterward, she followed him to the hospital.
Until now, Aya had not eaten breakfast, and though Aleen gave her a few snacks during the game, he knew that she must be hungry and tired after going through all of that.
But despite it, and though she was not very familiar with Aleen and Claire, she came to the hospital to accompany him.
“Do you want to eat something?” He asked with a tired smile.
Aya was briefly surprised. “… Are you not going to wait until Claire wakes up?”
“The doctor said that she is fine and I don't think she will wake up soon. Besides, I’m sure that you are tired and hungry after the game. Don’t worry, it’s not a bother.”
Aya hesitated slightly, but in the end, she nodded.
“Thank you…” She said softly.
Aleen just smiled and walked with her towards the cafeteria.

Magic-Farming
A thought experiment gone out of control, inspired by kosnik4's popular story, Magic-Smithing. What would life be like for someone else who was transported to the world inside Magic-Smithing? Someone who wasn't as prone to encounter incresasingly dangerous people, whose life was a little less chaotic? What if this person was content with a simple life of farming? Tending to the plants, sowing seeds, and reaping a great harvest at the end of the year. Of course, he's also a data scientist, so he can't help but squeeze out the maximum possible efficiency of his time and the potential of his attributes. Who doesn't make excel spreadsheets in their spare time? This is a slightly more "Slice of Life" esque version of kosnik4's story. Hopefully lighthearted, funny, and as enjoyable to read as it is thinking of increasingly ridiculous skill progressions. Thanks to kosnik4 and Magic-Smithing for providing fertile grounds for creativity to thrive. NOTE: THIS IS A FAN FICTION, AND ALL INTELLECTUAL RIGHTS BELONG TO KOSNIK4. I'm a patron of his story, and love reading about what happens next in his story. I've tried my best to be as accurate to his canon science as possible, though it's not 100% feasible. Afterall, the story isn't even done yet! My plan for the releases is to release a single chapter a day until 3/7, and then release 4 chapters a week on M, W, F, & Sat. P.S. If anyone can figure out what the EXACT formula for Level XP is, I'd love to hear it. I'm starting to doubt my math and excel capabilities. I have an equation that is fairly accurate and stays close to his values, but not exactly the same.
