《Grandpa Sweet Fist》V2P48- Reunion (3)

Not knowing the attention the system was giving him, Takuma continued. He walked towards the mansion and entered via the main entrance. The double doors were broken, and the inside of the mansion was no better than the outside facade.
“Look at that big hole above. Maybe there was a fierce and terrible battle here before.”
Takuma said as he looked up at the broken roof of the mansion and gave his viewers a view of the rays of sunshine that shone through. Takuma slowly walk through the mansion, pretending to be fearful of whatever that was around a corner. He was trying to add some suspense for his viewers, but it was a tall task in the bright sunshine. Reunion had to wonder why the man didn’t come at night. With the sound of whistling wind blowing through the broken walls, this mansion should be an eerie place in the dark. Maybe this descendant wasn’t that smart, or desperate, for viewers.
As the show went on, some viewers got tired and began leaving. Seeing the lowering numbers, Takuma finally admitted defeat. He walked out of the mansion and headed towards his truck while speaking to the camera. In the future, some would call it fate, others would call it luck, but for a moment Takuma Niwa glanced to his right and saw something.
“Wait, I see something sticking out of the ground.”
Takuma informed his viewers as he approached the object. Something about the objects called out to him and Takuma easily dug it up from the soft ground. Takuma swiped away the dirt and saw that it was a black scroll casing. The weight told him there was something inside, but with no wordings or markings on the scroll Takuma had no way to know what was stored inside. Hopeful of finding something interesting, Takuma opened the casing and found that there was a scroll inside. His viewers began scolding him again. They believed Takuma had buried the scroll beforehand and was just trying to drum up faked interest for his channel.

Takuma ignored the comments, and he opened the scroll. Science, magic, and martial arts were considered primary education subjects on Nexus, and like most people of Nexus, Takuma had some basic knowledge of magic. He immediately recognized that it was a spell scroll but he couldn’t recognise the spell written on it. The centre of the scroll was dominated by a squarish formation she had never seen before, and there were some weird symbols written on the top left of the scroll.
“Wow! Guys, I think I scored big here. Don’t know the spell on this scroll but it could be valuable. I’ll need to get it-”
Takuma never got to finish the rest of the sentence. The scroll shook in his hand. The formation in the scroll lit up and released some black mist into the air. Takuma dropped the scroll in surprise and back away. The black mist rose into the air and slowly condensed. A few seconds later, Takuma saw the mist forming a strange creature that resembles a wolf. It had a wide mouth with four sharp fangs and there were two small horns on the top of its head. Its eyes were big and attentive, and it had two long tails at its back. It looked kind of cute, but Takuma only felt fear at the sight of the puppy. The floating puppy was surrounded by a purple haze, and it was transparent!
It was a ghost! One strong enough to appear in broad daylight!
Takuma slowly stepped back from the ghost as his viewers exploded. They now realized that it was not a setup. Their streamer really found something, and it was dangerous. Most of them were telling Takuma to run and for once, the young man did not ignore them. He turned and ran in panic. He had taken only three steps when he felt the coldness in his chest. Takuma Niwa fell to the ground and saw the comments of his viewers. They said that the ghost had entered his body! That was the last thing he remembered before darkness took him.

Reunion looked on as Takuma’s viewers began spamming the chat. All of them were worried and Reunion tracked more than a few calls to Takeout Broadcast to inform the platform that something had happened to one of their streamers. Reunion was not worried. Unlike the viewers, Reunion knew what the spell scroll was.
It was a ghost summon spell. When he opened the spell scroll, Takuma released the ghost that was trapped inside the scroll and when the ghost entered him, Takuma became the host of the ghost. When Takuma woke, he will realize that the soul of a ghost had taken up residence in this body. He will need to live with it or try to get rid of it. As the magical art of Ghost Summoning was generally frowned upon on Nexus, the latter was more likely.
Takuma would need to reach out and seek assistance. As ghost summoning was considered a dark art on Nexus, it was more likely that said assistance would come from the villainous side of Nexus. Like from a father Takuma had never met before. When Takuma finally reach out to his father…Reunion smiled.
It was almost too easy. Like putting out a job on H.A.V.E to destroy a diner or giving a nudge to a young assassin to take a job beyond his capabilities. Reunion was still smiling when it returned to the Void, the space between dimensions. However, it found that someone was waiting for it.
A vast darkness. In its own plane, Reunion was a black ball of energy. and before it was a gigantic mass of slimy darkness a million times greater. A leviathan of coiled tendrils, cold scaled skin, and sharp claws. An eldritch horror that was the stuff of nightmares in a thousand worlds. A thousand eyes suddenly appeared on the horror, all of them glaring at the system known as Reunion. The ancient eldritch horror was not happy, and although it knew the horror wouldn’t hurt it, Reunion felt a shiver of fear. If it had a throat, it would have gulped. A small black tentacle appeared from the body of Reunion, and it gave the leviathan a shaky wave.
“Hi, mum.”

Cycles of Ruin
Civilizations rise and fall. Kith build them up and monsters, led by powerful dungeon keepers, bring them to ruin. For three thousand years the cycle has been maintained by the Guild of Chaos and its endless hordes of minions who—in absence of their long lost creators—have taken it upon themselves to keep the realms of the universe in balance. The Guild has grown efficient at this task, but some among its ranks have begun to ponder the utility of a universe that has been robbed of the very possibility of change. Basil von Doom is one such dungeon keeper working for the Guild, leading an army of loyal minions from one conquest to the next; burning civilizations and sifting through the ruins in search of forbidden knowledge that the races of kith were never meant to possess. But having spent more than half a century in pursuit of glory and fame—trying to live up to the legacy of his father—Basil has grown indifferent towards his work. Desperate for a worthy challenge, but bound by his duties as a dungeon keeper, he has turned his mind towards uncovering the ultimate fate of the previous master of his house and the secrets that were buried with him. Now the young Master of House Doom must balance his growing interest in pursuing the trail of his father with the responsibilities that come with running a dungeon in service to the Guild of Chaos. To remain in good standing with the Guild, Basil has even accepted the task of mentoring an apprentice dungeon keeper, a young succubus named Elnora. It is at the tail end of her apprenticeship that the story begins; with a civilization poised to fall—its greatest heroes gathering for one last assault on the heart of darkness—and Basil striking up a conversation with his apprentice that will set into motion the unraveling of the universe. ***This is a rewrite and continuation of my story that was first posted on RoyalRoad a few years ago.

Perhaps. =====Summary Over===== Yo, if you are reading this then (like me) you like to read pretty much anything, including some guy's random rambles. Well you could read this story if you want but what's the fun in that really? I'm pretty much writing this (my first) story on a whim so it is certainly not perfect nor is it likely to be good (but what do I know maybe I'm secretly talented). It also might have tons of tons of errors beacuse I'm dumb and sometimes it's just so boring to proof read and you just wanna send a chapter out y'know. Regardless, whether this story brings you the most euphoric delight or illicits the most intense abhorrence I wanna know what you think and how I can improve, reader person, especially if you read this far!
