《Heretical Oaths》On the future of HO (IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS) (not a hiatus) (not a chapter)

Sorry, no chapter today. Some explanations as to why are below.
Boring personal stuff:
Hey guys. Slifer here. It's been a crazy few months, going from someone who'd never touched RR before to where I am now. I've learned a lot, written a lot, and made a lot of mistakes. When I started, I was just slapping what little I had and posting it--back then, I was almost about to drop this story before we even hit the first scene at the Sinlen Pass all the way back in chapter 6.
As I reach the 6-month mark of writing and posting, I'm realizing something rather important. Yes, I still love my story, and I swear to complete it (so worry not, this is not a cancellation post). However, I am definitely suffering from some level of burnout. There was a time when pumping out three 4-5k chapters a week was nothing to me (interestingly enough, this was during exam season). Now, though, after travel and illness and more travel, I'm realizing that trying to write so much is really starting to weigh on me. Combined with my anxiety, it's a real bitch to deal with, especially on days where I either can't write or just am not in the mood at all.
Less boring Q&A segment where I pretend to know what you're thinking:
But Slifer, aren't you writing the same story as before? What happened?
Well, I'm not just writing this story anymore. It's a pretty poorly kept secret, but I'm also writing System Error, a decently popular litRPG. Also, I've got a third project going on the side that y'all will get to see in a month or two (or now if you look up Slifer274 on Reddit).
Yeah, I decided to write more in general. Whoops. I promise I'll finish HO! It'll just be slower.

What does this mean for us?
I'm changing my schedule to 2 chapters per week. One on Sunday, one on Thursday. Hopefully, this means I can get my Patreon up to 3+ chapters ahead again.
Also, Heretical Oaths will be going to Kindle Unlimited in about a month.
Wait, KU? Why?
Because as much as I hate capitalism, I like having money.
As an author, you have an obligation to let us have all your content for free!
I mean, you've got a month to read it for free...
Full disclosure, I'm going to stop writing if it becomes unviable to continue because of how much time it takes vs. what I get out of it, even though I do love writing for writing's sake. Going KU is a means to an end, and the end is me continuing writing.
More boring stuff:
Thanks for sticking with me through all these chapters. I know I've been inconsistent lately (the drastic drop in views/chapter and patrons certainly make sure I never forget LOL) and I'm sorry that releases will get further between.

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★

Ashen Reign
In a dark & psychedelic world the tribes of this land tread pace with gods & muses, alive in course of their thoughts. A promising oracle, Azarra, is sworn to a life of seclusion and severe vows of chastity for communion with the fateful powers that marked her. When an upstart warlord imposes on her shrine and forces her to break those oaths, she inverts a sentence of death and disgrace into one of ambition & retribution. Proclaiming her son as the incarnation of their pantheon's progenitor, Drakkon. Azarra shapes this child, borne of unwanted union, into a tool of vengeance against all who wronged her. Swathing Drakkon in illusion of deification, she casts him as a Living Light to set her foes aflame. The cult they cultivate comes to ordain a new Aeon, a reign of Thunder. But the fiery storm of their imperium falls as rain of ash. (Fantastical elements inspired from Greco-Roman & Germanic/Viking influences in a fictional setting of war & woe.) Cover art & design by Lyria Key. Title font/logo by Dark Saturnus Eventually aiming to release as amazon paperback and kindle e-book. May conjure up a discord and donation link. But for now hoping to generate some interest and entertain as many readers as the work reaches & speaks to.
