《Life Zero》|Chapter 4| Horizon

Warm colours melted into the horizon as the songbird’s song they pretty tone. Even then the quietness of the morning made Celest shiver. Wandering around the blood stain village, she finally made her way back to Erix, who was still standing like a statue. He kind of look like the died bodies around them but the moving of his chest said other wises. Roughly, she punches in the shoulder making the man turned sharping to her. “Finally,” she sighed, “You’ve being standing there for so long~”
“You didn’t need to punch me!” ‘He sorts of sounded like a whining kid then’. Internally she laughs; very hard. After the whining man stop whining, he glared the Celest. “You’re quite a brave one” his eyes darken as his eyes linger on Celest. “Eh, I just to care”
“So, you’re reckless?”
“I don’t know” she shrugged as she handed him a Lomin. “Why a Lomin?”
“Cause you look like a corpse and we don’t want any crows eating out your eyes”
“Ha ha you’re so funny”
Erix wandered off his eyes catching all the shinnies, quickly pocketing some of the more important stuff. Overall, there was little as the village was small and was far off to any other villages. Lomin flower were placed on the dead bodies. Did she care for them? Her eyes had no remorse though so maybe a weird send-off, he guessed. Many questions linger in his mind as to what the girl wanted or who she was. She obvious a monster those sharpen teeth and the thin pupil was no doubt a trait of a monster. But the ears were a dead giveaway. Suddenly, he turned to see the young girl still standing basking in the warmness of the morning sun. He really didn’t know why he had such a pull towards her, but she seemed like a fun travelling partner. She probably could fight and it just a joke.

“Hey Celest,” quickly she turned towards him, “want to be my new traveling partner?”
She really didn’t know how to process the word that came out of the stupid man. They had just meet last night and he tried to kill her at first! She was screaming internally with how stupid that idea was. “Yeah sure” ‘wft just came out of my mouth… FUCK!’
‘Why did she say yes I she might be fun traveller, but it was still a joke’ “Great then!” ‘WHY WHY! What is this conversation!’ For a few minutes the awkward now new traveling partner screamed internally as they wander along the path. Soon the crashing of the ocean drowned out as the sun raised shining upon them. Buzzing of the bugs become the only sound other than the weirdly pace walking. Erix had very long legs naturally had a fast pace while Celest had short legs making them have to wearily walk to be at the same pace.
Long pale grass surrounds the barren rocky road that led to the town of Asin. Celest personally hadn’t been to anything larger than a village the thought of all those eyes made her heart speed up. Mountains laid on the horizon mocking them of how far they must travel to reach Asin. Time moved by so slowly as the heat of the sun made Celest’s siren side screech and complain. Celest felt her legs grew weaker as pain spike up her each time she steps. Pain was nothing new to her but the constantly of it made her bite her lip to stifle a whimper.
Erix was used the sun unforgiven heat as walked the earth for a long time. But occasionally he shared a glance to Celest seeing the sweat that fell from her. She looks like a dried-up fish oh right…. He was stupid well not in smart other creatures culters but Celest was obvious a siren a water creature fuck… “Are you going to die”

“Pain yes, death no” she slurred her words, but he still understood. Carefully, he swopped Celest up as she sighed in the release of the pressure on her legs. Celest knew how large but being close you cloud tell how defined his muscles were. Without a warning, she laid limb in his arms catching Erix off guard. “Are you dead?” he questions. “No” she replied like it was obvious ‘Well okay… it’s not like you look like a corpse or anything’
Looks like it will take some time before they arrive at Asin.

Sexy Sect Babes
“One in a billion.” Jack kept repeating the mantra in his head. “One in a billion.” That was the number the Omni-Corps liked to cite whenever someone stepped onto one trans-mat pad and then simply… never stepped off the other. “Safer than a car,” he repeated as he slogged through the snow, his mining overalls doing at least a passable job of keeping out the cold as he brushed aside a tree branch. “Safer than a plane. Or a starship. Safest form of transport in the Star League.” He slammed his fist into a nearby tree, exo-empowered strength shattering it into little more than scattered bark and kindling. “Yeah, well I never heard of a car ride stranding some prick in another dimension!” He roared, his voice echoing through the seemingly endless forest around him. Then he kept marching. He’d seen the fire off in the distance. And given all the snow around, he sincerely doubted it was natural. Which left the unnatural. Which meant people. He hoped. Because even if the trans-mat had screwed up, he doubted it had dumped him too far off the central finite curve. The fact that the air was breathable and that he could recognize the trees around him as oak told him that much. And if the dimension he was in had trees native to Earth, chances are it would have animals too. Of which humans would hopefully be no exception. “Because I’ll be damned if I spend the rest of my days talking to goddamn squirrels.” No, if there were humans on this mudball, he was going to find them. One way or another.
