~Amos PoV~
'Hey, Fin do you have some sort of illness with numbers?' I asked Fin telepathically as I sat in my seat looking at the ceiling.
I was seated in a dark room all alone so I could absorb the Qi without being disturbed...At least that was the plan but alas there was nothing I could do about this mental ability.
I mean it's very useful ability in many cases especially in our situation this kind of ability is to die for but, right now I have more negative comments about it than positive.
'It's not that I have illness with numbers, I just love numbers.' Fin Objected.
'To the point that you dream about numbers?' I Questioned and he went silent for a while 'Leave me alone, none of the others are complaining so why are you?' He Whined.
I put my hands over my chest 'I don't know, maybe because I am the one who has to deal with you every night.' I said in a sarcastic tone.
'Well, I have things I have to do now so let's talk later.' He said and disconnected from the server.
I also disconnected from the server. To be honest, it's not much of server but that's the only way I can put it in words, I don't know what it is really.
Sigh
I stood up from my chair and turned on the lights and went to the mirror and looked at it.
I looked at my short blond hair and blue eyes as I put my hand over the scar on my forehead. A cold deadly flashed through my eyes as I thought about my past.
I close my eyes for a while before I opened them and went to the table. I picked up a gun and put it behind me as I put on a leather jacket and left the house I was in.

..............................................................................................
After leaving my house I went towards my bar and took the keys out to open it. Just before I opened it I saw that the door was already open.
I Frowned as I took out my gun and hide it behind my leg as I walked into the bar without making any sound or leaking out any of my presence.
The moment I got into the room the light turned on and in front of me an old man was sitting in a chair looking at me with wine in his hands.
"Not bad, if I was any other normal person I wouldn't even know whether you were here or not." The old man spoke, I could clearly see that the man was whispering and yet his words reached my ears as if he was right next to me.
'This old man's aura is similar to the boss's.' I thought as my killing intent rose higher and I took the safety of my gun.

"If I were you I would tread carefully with my action's, don't let this face fool you. If I wanted you dead you would have been already." The old man said in a cold tone and my body froze as the old man let out a terrifying killing intent.
I could no longer move, it was as if my body was no longer in my control. I gritted my teeth as I could only look at this man while being at his mercy.
"Who are you?" I asked the old man.
"I am someone who is here to clean up the messed you made, but seeing that you are not that weak I must say bravo, most people faint when I release my killing intent." The old man said in a mocking tone.

I smiled at the old man "Clean up the mess I made? Then may I ask what this mess is?" I said as tried to get control of my body again, this is the third time in my life that I have been suppressed like this. The whole reason I went after strength is so I would not be in this kind of situation.
The old man tilted his head as he put down the glass he had "Resisting is a futile young man, you won't be able to get lose." The old man said as he walked towards me.
As he came close I could hear my heartbeat get louder and louder.
The man stopped right in front of me "I came here because I was told you not only killed my men but you are also creating your own group in my territory. To be honest I would have just killed you already but seeing you made want to give you options so make sure to choose the right one." The old man said as he put his hand behind his back.
"One, You can die by my hands right here right now or two, you can join me and I will open a whole new world for you." The old man said and I laughed at him with a mocking smile on my face.
"Kids these days are so prideful they don't know what is good for them, fine I will grant your wish, you can DIE!" The old man said as he moved his hand towards my heart.
Halt...
His hand came to halt just before it touched me and the old man frowned as he looked behind me.
I raised an eyebrow as to why this man stopped but then I suddenly felt a huge amount of qi and killing intent being released behind me.
I looked towards where the qi was coming from and a silhouette could be seen.
"Why did you stop didn't you say you would kill him?" A deep cold voice could be heard as a silhouette emerged from the dark side of the room and stepped into the light.

The Core And The Wardens of Eternity
What is the Core, they asked me... It's the light that pushes the darkness away, a bastion of justice, a safe keeper of life. It grooms love and tolerance, embraces science, fights ignorance, sentences it to die a slow and tragic death. The Core... it's something that can't be destroyed for destroying it is to terminate the time and space itself. When the stuck-in-a-dark-age world of Zanria goes offline, the Core sends one of its experienced agents to find out what is going on and to try to reestablish a mysteriously severed connection. However, all his training and experience might come way short as the world sinks in war and chaos with different races and clans fighting for the Star of Bardan, the ward rumored to possess enough supernatural power to create and destroy entire worlds. *** I just changed the name of the series, from 'the Nexus' to 'the Core'. Somehow it just sounds more right to me. This is the first story, and it has a medieval fantasy setting. But, eventually, this is going to turn into Isekai series with elements of LitRPG. So, my future books might include worlds with advanced technologies that might be more in SciFi, including Steampunk, genre. The first book might start slow, but after a few chapters, it should all be properly set up, and by then you should get the feel of how it will all flow. Also, I plan to introduce different story threats that should spread out and criss-cross in the future. Hopefully, I will not complicate it too much, and that it will all read good. I am planning to continue to add chapters to the main storyline here, but I'm also starting a new story threat in the Core series called The Recordings of Raan. There is also a side story The Memoires of Eisen that's exclusive on Patreon for those who would like to support me.
