Howler legged it, not looking back, he ran and ran until he was deep in the dark forest, it was only now when Howler looked back at what was once his home. Except it wasn’t there, there were only tree’s and the darkness. Howler felt unsafe, scared, frightened and alone, and so alone, he remembered what Darka told him ’when you think you are alone, look around, not all animals want to eat you’ Remembering, Howler looked around, and he felt amazed at what he saw. He saw birds perched upon tree and upon tree, there was a fox digging in the ground and, the best of all bugs, lots of bugs, centipedes, millipedes, crochets and even some lizards.

Then suddenly Howler heard a roar, a mighty roar and every animal vanished. Howler stood there too scared to move when a tiger came in view and not just a tiger but 3 tigers. There all came at him, he tried to doge but only just escaped their mighty claws and managed to scramble up a tree onto the lowest branches were he stayed. The tigers battered and scratched at the bottom of the tree, after a while they gave up and went to find other food.

It was nightfall before Howler came down from the tree, he did he found a small shelter under a rock, where Howler had a very uncomfortable sleep. In the early hours of the next morning Howler decided to move away form the forest into the open land that was beyond, however Howler first needed food.

Howler saw a baby deer drinking from a stream so he decided this is his breakfast, so he creped up slowly not making any sound and picked the perfect moment to leap onto the deer and sink his teeth into it. Blood flowed down the dead deer as Howler dug his teeth into it, Howler was half-way through the deer and he heard growls coming closer. Light was coming through the trees and he knew the tigers were coming back for their food so he thought it was a good time to move out to the open plains.
