Volume 2 upgrade specialist chapter 22 - training cheats
Having finished sparring we all left to get dinner. In the centre of camp, two unranked were roasting a few deer's over a bonfire.
After a long day of training, the food made all of our mouths water. While eating our food we all sat and chatted with each other. Though it was not about anything important there was a nice atmosphere to it.
After eating Alice, Gareth and I made our way back to our tent. After bidding each other goodnight we went into our separate rooms. Sat on the bed I finally had the chance to use dragons fire. As usual, Pluvia was waiting for me.
Pluvia: welcome back.
Solomon: yeah, sorry it took so long. I had a lot to do.
Pluvia: don't worry about it, I have some good news for you. I didn't get the chance to tell you but because you have reached the 2nd stage of qi cultivation you have unlocked more features with dragons fire.
Hearing I had gotten even more bonuses with the book I was ecstatic. The book as it was had already let me cheat death.
Solomon: this sounds good, what have I unlocked?
Pluvia lowered her head close to my body. Speaking as quietly as she could. I had asked her to do this as her loud voice was beginning to give me headaches.
Pluvia: you have lots of benefits, for someone at your level this book has hundreds of things. however, I will just explain the key points. You can explore the rest yourself.
The most noticeable change will be the time you can spend in here. You can now spend two hours here twice a day, Or four hours once
For a second I stared at Pluvia, astonished. This meant that I had effectively quadrupled the amount of time I could stay in this qi beneficial environment.
Though Pluvia explained it was less beneficial later on the addition of 4 hours to a day was very beneficial. It meant that over these 13 days I would have another 2 and a bit days of training.
Considering being in this environment made training here ten times faster than training on the outside. If I took that into account I had the added the equivalent of 20 days of normal training.
This was a huge windfall for me. Having already been told this I had completely forgotten that there were more benefits.
Pluvia: the two other key points are the unlocking of the subspace and this enchantment technique.
Placing her snout on top of my head she passed over the technique. It was only a simple technique titled fire bequeathing enchantment, however, it was just what I needed. This would give me an excuse to take people's equipment. Then I could add my enchantment as well as Yunfei's upgrade.
Pluvia: though it’s a low-level technique it is a good way to start enchanting. As it does not use ay material and it is overly complicated it will allow you to practise your enchanting easily.

The subspace is an interspatial room within the dragon's fire. Though it is over 15 miles cubed in size, you can only access 5 meters of it at the moment.
This sorted out the majority of the problems faced when entering a mission. I could carry anything needed within it rather than lugging around backpacks.
Pluvia: to access it you just have to will it.
Wanting to test it out I tried to will it. Picking up on my intent I was instantly transported into the space. However unlike I had thought before, it was not empty. There were three piles of small red cores as well as one armour rack and two weapons racks. The racks all had what looked like expensive items on them.
Not wanting to mess with anything before talking to Pluvia I looked around me. The 5 meter cubed space was surrounded by an opaque barrier. Though I could make out rough shapes through it I could not tell what the shapes were.
Willing once again I appeared back in the training room.
Solomon: Is all that stuff in there mine?
Seeing me look like a child in a sweet shop she let out a small giggle, sounding surprisingly human.
Pluvia: hihihi, it's all yours. If you want to take something out just will it. It saves you entering the room every time.
Trying it out I pulled out one of the small red orbs I had seen. Holding it up I asked Pluvia.
Solomon: what is this?
After eying it for a second she replied.
Pluvia: it's the demonic core of a fanged panda.
Looking at it I inspected it in detail. It was a baseball sized pearlescent red orb that let out a slight gleam of light. It had no scratches or marks on it, making it look untouched. I knew that I could use it to cultivate, just not how.
Solomon: so I can use this to cultivate, right?
Pluvia: you can, it should be very useful to you. It can increase your cultivation speed by two times.
From what she said It looked like I had fallen into a goldmine. If I could double my cultivation speed from what it was I would be able to train the equivalent of 40 days worth before facing the chieftain. With this amount of time, I might even be able to breakthrough to 3rd stage of qi cultivation before facing him. If I did that I was sure I could defeat him.
Solomon: so how do I use it?
Wanting to not waste any more time I questioned Pluvia. Seeing me change from playful to serious she did the same.
Pluvia: I haven't explained everything yet. There are limits to it. You can only use it while in here. Without me to regulate them for you, you'll die.
Though this wasn't the best news it wasn’t unexpected. To use such a god like item would of course have restrictions.

Solomon: alright then. That’s not too bad.
Pluvia: also one of them will only last an hour.
Hearing this put a wrench in my plans. Based on the size of the two piles there was around 100 of them. Over 13 days I would use 4 a day. That was 52 cores. Though I had easily got enough for the mission I only had a limited supply. If that was so would it be better to save it till I was at a higher level.
After some consideration it though it would be better to save them.
Solomon: I think I'll save them for now. I'll use them when my training speed slowed down.
hearing my conclusion, Pluvia had a small smile on her face.
Pluvia: that would be a good decision if it wasn't for the fact they'll be useless later on.
Solomon: what do you mean?
It seemed she was happy that I took the more responsible decision but knew that it wouldn’t work.
Pluvia: the higher your level the worse the effect is. By the time you reach the 4th stage of qi cultivation it will be more or less useless.
It seemed I could only use them now as they would be useless later.
Solomon: alright then, let's get started. How do I use it.
Sitting down I held out the small ball to Pluvia.
Pluvia: you eat it. When it turns into qi in your body I will subdue it. Then you will have an hour to absorb qi through it.
Explaining it she came and sat down in front of me. Resting her head on top of mine.
Pluvia: I'm ready when you are.
Lifting up the ball I swallowed it. Like the pill from before it turned into qi as It went down. When it had reached my Dantian it began to spasm. All of a sudden the seemingly small and calm ball of qi exploded inwards. Aiming to invade my Dantian.
From instinct, I could tell I had no chance. If Pluvia didn't help me I would die within seconds. As the first wave hit me a wave of qi passed through my head into my body. It was unlike any energy I had felt before. Everything before, no matter how strong lacked volume. This new energy however, was both highly more concentrated and more abundant.
It kept seeping into me until it filled my entire body. Being surrounded the core became complacent. From nearby my ear I could hear Pluvia.
Pluvia: what you just felt was the monster cores will. Every monster core will carry the will of its user. When trying to absorb them you need to subdue the will first. If you don't the will can overcome you, taking control of your body.
Having experienced the will in these monster cores I took this warning to heart.
Pluvia: now, start training. When you bring your qi into your Dantian pass it through the monster core.
Following her instructions, I began absorbing the qi in the air. After gathering a decent amount I brought it to the monster core. As it passed through it grew stronger. Though the amount remained the same the quality improved a lot.
Seeing this I came up with an idea.
Solomon: hey Pluvia, could I pass the qi I already have through the core?
Pluvia: you can, but it won't allow you to breakthrough. As I'm sure you can tell it makes the quality better. If you don't add new qi in you won't progress towards the 3rd level of qi cultivation.
Hearing this I thought I would try something. I absorbed a small amount of qi. Then I took some qi out of my Dantian. Using my upgraded level of control I surrounded the new qi with the old.
Though it resisted at first I could just about handle it at this level. I could tell that if I didn't have the bonuses from both my race and my lucky breakthrough this would be impossible.
I tried to push the bundle of qi through the core. Though it took longer than before it qi and adding to it.
Pluvia: wow, it seems I've underestimated you. If you can keep that up your training will speed up by 4 times rather than two.
It seems the risks I had taken before were paying off. If my training was four times what it was before, I was confident in at least getting close to a breakthrough before I fought the chieftain. Hopefully, that along with the upgraded and enhanced equipment would tip the scales.
Other than these advantages I had one trump card on my enemy. I knew I would be healed when I finished the mission. That meant that if it was necessary I could let myself be fatally injured during the fight if it meant killing him first.
Concentrating now I continued to train. After the effect wore out I took count of my qi. I had transformed about a 40th of it and added 1% to the original. Though I would only have an added 52% on the original I would have would have transformed all my qi by then. Judging by the quality the new qi was 1.5x the strength of the old qi.
This meant that it would be equivalent to 228% of what I had now. That was not including the increased speed that my qi would increase at when I had transformed all the old qi. Taking that into account it could even reach 2.5x what it was now.
With this thought in mind, I concentrated on training. Focusing completely.

System Only Gives Me Useless Gifts
Li Yun grew up with a system that gave him useless gifts. He wanted a reward that could prove the existence of the system, but ended up with abstract gifts like culture. Without physical proof, he was stuck wondering whether his mind was truly sane, all the while dealing with the reality of life. How will the "useless" system help Li Yun navigate medical school, hospital politics, criminal cases, treasure hunting, farming and cooking? Author's Note: This is a slice-of-life novel about a doctor with a mission-type system. It's written as a faux modern Chinese novel, so there are many 1-off characters and episodic mini arcs. Just a bit of warning, the tone of the story is very different after the childhood arc and jumpy as it chronicles Li Yun's life. I'm trying to make it less apparent in the rewrite, but there are still a lot of time skips. RR is the rewrite version, no set schedule. See webnovel for OG. scribblehub is a combo of both . I recommend scribblehub since it has pictures. Copyrights of the novel and cover are owned by Chocomug. Novel is free to read and download for personal use, such as offline reading, only.

War Beast
The future is savage. Jenny Summer is a news reporter who hates her job. One day, an accident sends her through a time portal, straight into the distant future. A future of warring Beastmen tribes, deadly monsters, and magic from beyond the imagination. When the savage world is full of many threats, how will the average modern-day girl survive? Author's Note: This is a rewrite of my fiction with the original title. Instead of changing my chapters in my other draft, I made a copy with a different beginning and a few new chapters. The beginning will move straight to the fantasy world like most Isekai light novels. As usual, each chapter will go between 500 and 2,000 words. I deleted the other draft since this draft will be my focus. Enjoy and let me know what you think of this new draft. There may also be grammar and spelling errors too. This series is still in development.
