“What is this!? How can he be this strong!?”
“He’s on par with the Vice Captains! Or maybe even the Captain!”
“Look out! He’s coming to you!”
Cain dashed to a targeted Kingsmight.
“Shit!”
The Kingsmight tried to punch Cain.
Cain grabbed his hand and punched his stomach. Then he lifted the Kingsmight up with one hand while still holding his hand and slammed him to the floor. It was Beast Slam technique.
The impact made the floor collapsed, Cain fell into the underground dungeon.
He fell about 4 meters down and landed easily. The Kingsmight he slammed was half buried, unconscious.
“What the fuck now!?” a voice came from behind a door in front of Cain.
When the door opened, a bald Kingsmight appeared from the door.
“What!? Who’re you!?” said the bald Kingsmight. Surprised to see someone he did not know.
Cain’s gaze fell on a girl behind him, half naked, she covered her upper body with clothes. Her left face was bruised.
Their eyes met.
“Cain?” she said softly, a spark lit her gloomy eyes.
Ignored by Cain, the bald Kingsmight looked at the rubble behind Cain, he saw the half buried Kingsmight with his face sticking out.
“Huh!? Isn’t that Gar-”
Cain grabbed his face and squeezed it.
“What did you do to her!!?” shouted Cain.
“Arkh! Arkh!!”
He took a knife from his back and tried to stab Cain. Cain grabbed his hand and twisted it. The bald Kingsmight right hand was bent abnormally. And Cain squeezed his face harder.
“Akhh! Akh! Aakkhh!”
He screamed painfully.
“He hasn't done anything to me, Cain," Lexa stood up. She covered her body with her tattered clothes.
Cain smashed him to the wall, took the keys from his belt and threw him to the side. The Kingsmight fell unconscious instantly.
Cain went to Lexa and released the Arcnomger.
Lexa immediately hugged Cain and cried.
“It’s okay now," Cain stroked her back.
“Higa!? How’s Higa!?” Lexa released her hug.
“He’s… he’s okay, I left him with Aunt Germi," said Cain, he couldn’t let her know the truth, yet.
“Thank Goddess!”
“Come on,” Cain lent Lexa his jacket. “Let's go. Can you walk?”
“Yeah,” she replied. “Those stairs will lead us to the hall," she pointed to a staircase.
They proceed to the staircase.
“Cain, please don't hate all Kingsmight member for this," said Lexa as they went up.
“What do you mean?”
Lexa told Cain about Olsam and his group insubordination.
Cain went silent as he gave no response.
When they got back to the hall, the lumines crystals had already illuminated the hall. And the Kingsmight members were ready to go at him again.

But, when a girl who shouldn’t be there walked behind Cain, they were surprised.
“Where the hell did she come from!?”
“Is she the one he’s looking for? But I don't remember if there's anyone in the underground dungeon!”
“Either way, we cannot let them escape!”
The Kingsmight members took stances with their weapons and magic.
“Can you fight, Lexa?” said Cain while looking at the Kingsmight surrounding them.
“Yeah," Lexa nodded.
Three Kingsmight members started attacking them. Lightning bolts and arrows flew towards Cain.
Cain dodged them, then, a black hand emerged from black mist near his feet. Grabbed his right foot.
“Huh!?”
A Kingsmight with a tower shield charged at him. From above, a Kingsmight with a greatsword was coming down to cleave him. 3 arrows also flew, aimed at him.
Cain moved his body backward to avoid the arrows, then he forcefully pulled his leg from the black hand, pulling it farther out of the mist. The greatsword cleaved the black hand.
Cain’s leg was free, but when he’s about to dodge the shield charge, two more shield charges were coming at him from two different directions.
Cain ran towards the first shield charger. He stepped onto the shield and jumped. But suddenly a whip caught his leg in mid air.
Then, a huge lightning mace hit him from his left side. Cain body was thrown and crashed against a pillar. He fell to the floor.
“Finally! We hit him!”
“I bet at least he’s unconscious or something!”
said the Kingsmight.
Cain stood up while holding his left shoulder. That attack made his left shoulder dislocated.
“Damn! He’s tough! He’s still standing after receiving that attack!?” said the Kingsmight.
“Cain! Are you okay!?” Lexa hurriedly came to his side, two water swordfish were floating around her.
“This is nothing! Keep focus!” said Cain.
Two Kingsmight rushed to attack Cain.
From the second floor, an arrow aimed at Cain's left side was released. It turned into purple light in mid air.
Lexa intercepted the purple arrow with her two swordfish. But when they touched the arrow, the water swordfish were instantly evaporated.
Lexa casted Wind Twisting Lance and tried again. But it had no effect.
Lexa looked at Cain, his back was wide open. She did not have enough time to cast higher magic to block the arrow.
She jumped to the purple arrow trajectory. Shielding Cain with her body.
The purple arrow struck her chest.
Her body fell on the floor. She cried out in pain.
“Lexa!!!”
Cain pushed back his attackers. Then rushed to fallen Lexa.
Lexa was writhing in pain. Cain put her body on his arm. The chest where she was pierced was burned. The arrow already turned back to normal.

“No, no! Lexa!? Why’d you do this!?
Cain held her hand.
“Cough! I know you… lied, Cain…”
“W-what do you mean!?”
“This bracelet… knows when the pair is in danger… or… Cough!... Is gone… I already know… Higa is… Cough! Cough!” Lexa puked blood.
Cain was silent. The Kingsmight members approached them cautiously as they surrounding them.
“Listen, Cain… thank you… for coming… all this happened… never blame yourself… you hear me?... And… live happily… as always…”
She puked more blood before she stopped breathing.
It was Purple Break, a bow and arrow technique. When the purple arrow hit the target, the purple light would burn inside whatever it pierced.
“How can I… how can I live happily if you two are gone…”
Cain was crying weakly.
“You should surrender now!” one of the Kingsmight members pointed his sword at Cain.
“You… Kingsmight… of all people, the one that should protect people of Arozora…” said Cain, looking at Lexa’s face. “You took my brother… now you took my sister!” he said in anger.
Flame appeared from the floor, circling around Cain and Lexa. The flame rose up slowly.
“What! Flame!? He can use magic!? A creation magic!?”
“Doesn't that mean he was holding back from the start!?”
The Kingsmight members took steps back as the flame rose higher and turned into rotating flame pillar as Cain and Lexa were at its center.
The flames gotten wild. It was rotating faster and higher.
Suddenly, the flame pillar shot up and broke the roof of the base.
The civilians around the area could see this clearly, as the flame pillar rose up more than 20 meters high in the dark night sky.
Not far from the base, Ivela Caral was seeing this.
“What the!?” She just got back from reporting the smugglers case at Aroum City Palace. She heard there's a commotion on her base, but she didn't think it would be like this. She rushed to the base she’s in charge of, where the flame pillar was.
The flame pillar then dropped down fast and the rotation became much faster.
It was no longer visible from the outside. A second later, the base exploded.
The explosion was not big enough to cause surrounding buildings to become the collateral damage. But enough to obliterate the entire Kingsmight West Pillar.
The civilians fled from the area after the explosion. None of them got caught by the explosion.
Ivela Caral arrived at the scene. She looked at the burning West Pillar that crumbled to ruins.
“Oh Goddess…” she rushed to the ruins.
When she entered what was left of the base, many of the Kingsmight members were lying on the ground, writhing in pain because of the burns. The burns were not severe, but the pain won't just disappear with healing magic.
Cain used Deep Burn to enhance his Flame Pillar magic, a magic from Book of Gomara. It made the burn pain persist. Even when the skin was healed, the pain would still be there for six to nine months.
“What happened!?” Ivela tried to talk with the sprawled Kingsmight members. But the pain won't let them answer.
Ivela looked around and she saw Cain. She rushed there.
“You!? You were at the Kingsmight test! What are you doing here!? Are you the one who did this!? Answer me!” Ivela unsheathed her sword and pointed it at Cain.
Cain was sitting on the ground with Lexa on her arm. Looking at the ground, His gaze was empty.
“Yes… I did this,” he answered without looking at Ivela.
“Why you did this!?” Ivela put her sword on Cain's neck.
Cain raised his head, He looked into her eyes.
“Oh… it’s you… why, you said?” Cain laughed weakly.
“Your men, mistook my friends as smugglers! Brutally killed my best friend! And took her here to enjoy her! That's why!”
“My men won't do that!” she pressed her sword. A drop of blood slid down on Cain's neck.
“Well, Lady Caral, I guess you don't know your men very well," said Cain.
“As I really wanted to behead you right now, but if what you said is true!..." Ivela gritted her teeth. "Stand up! I’ll take you to the King!”
“King, eh?... Fine.”
Cain put Lexa’s body down. He held his left shoulder and carefully pressed it.
A crack sound came from his shoulder. He just popped his shoulder back.
Cain stood up and carried Lexa’s body on his arms.
“You can sheathe your sword. I won't go anywhere," said Cain, he looked at Ivela with weary eyes.
Ivela glared at Cain. “Move!” she sheathed her sword.
A small group of Kingsmight and soldiers of Aroum arrived at the ruins.
“Vice Captain Ivela, what happened here!?” a woman Kingsmight asked Ivela.
“We will find out. He’s the culprit, I’ll take him to the King,” said Ivela, then, she took out a piece of paper and wrote something. “You, give this to my brother and tell him it’s urgent," Ivela gave the paper to one of the Kingsmight members.
“And the rest of you, help the wounded Kingsmight there," she continued.
The Kingsmight and the soldiers nodded.
“I can't believe it! Someone actually dare to challenge the Kingsmight!”
“Yeah, and it seems they succeeded.”
The civilians started to gather around the crumbled Kingsmight West Pillar.

But when an object of great and malevolent power promises to make good on all the promises the mages broke to him Mar is thrust into the world of magic. Mar will find that fate had something more than a life confined to the library planned for him after all. Authors Notes: I consider this to be a comming-of-age Sword and Sorcery story based mostly on the style of classic western fantasies. So if that's your thing then I encourage you to take a peek. Something I want to mention though is that the main character starts of pretty wimpy, and that might not be your thing. That being said, if you stick with him he's got a long way to grow. Also, while this version of the story is meant to be fully readable, more dicerning readers may want to wait until I move out of rough draft phase. There may be some inconsistancies with character and plot while I am still in the rough draft phase. I'm sorry for this, but this is my first web novel and from what I've read the best way to get a good novel out is to write write write, and then edit ruthlessly after you're finished with the book, so that's the plan I'm going to follow. Again, this is a rough draft. Everything you are reading is subject to change, including the name, title, and cover photo. This may no longer be the case once I've decided I know where this fiction is going and I have a reasonable understanding of the characters and their behavior. You're reading what comes off my keyboard as it's made, with very limited editing. There will be mistakes in the text. I do a quick spell check to take out the worst of the errors, but there will be some I miss. You can point them out in the comments if they are particularly confusing or glaring and I will try to fix them, however I am not overly concerned about minor errors as this is not the final draft by any means.
