《Legacy of the Ancient》Chapter 8 - King Iligo Maxigun

Before they went to Aroum City Palace, Cain requested to visit Emerald Horn Inn first, to safekeep Lexa’s body. Ivela granted it after she ordered a soldier to notify the King and all of the Kingsmight.
They entered the inn from its backdoor to avoid a commotion. When Marion saw what happened to Lexa, she held her tears and said nothing. But Cain knew, she knew they were the cause of the commotion at Kingsmight West Pillar because he was accompanied by Ivela, a well known Vice Captain of Kingsmight.
Cain promised to tell what happened to Marion later and left.
Along the walk to the Palace, Ivela asked nothing to Cain, as he was just silent.
Aroum City Palace.
All of the Kingsmight had been gathered in the Throne Hall. Except those who were devastated by Cain and two other Vice Captains, they weren't in Arozora at the moment.
All of were summoned to discuss the matter of the destruction of West Pillar.
Before Cain entered the Palace, he was handcuffed with an Arcnomger by the guards.
“You know this means nothing to me, right? said Cain.
“Just try, that handcuff will cut off your hands if you try to use any magic," Ivela replied without looking at him.
Cain walked in the corridor with Ivela. The corridor was wide and brightly illuminated with lumines crystals on the wall. A big door to the Throne Hall awaited them.
The big door was opened by the guards.
When Cain and Ivela entered the Throne Hall, all of the Kingsmight eyes were fixed over Cain. The eyes of angry mob that ready to obliterate him at that moment if the King said so because of what he did to their comrades.
Suddenly, a stabbing aura leaked from Cain for a second. He saw what he expected.
But a sword touched his neck, Ivela reacted to his aura by just a split second. Most of the Kingsmight also got their hands on their weapons, ready to unsheathe them because of that aura.
“Don't try anything funny!” said Ivela.
Ivela knew the Arcnomger would react if he tried anything, but this man was dangerous. Who knew what might happen, maybe even when his hands got cut off, he would unleash anything until he ran out of blood.
Cain shrugged, responding to Ivela’s words.
She then retracted and sheathed her sword.
Cain was brought before the throne. A couple of stairs made Cain’s head looked up to the King who sat there.

He was there, King Iligo Maxigun the Mighty. He wore an asymmetrical crown made of translucent maroon crystal. With his King Attire, he appeared so majestic.
On his left side, stood Dios, and Bagulv on the opposite.
Cain felt so nostalgic when he saw his King in the eye.
“Where are your manner!? You're in front our King!” Ivela’s hand forced Cain’s head to bow down.
“That’s fine, Ivela,” Igo waved his hand. “It's been a while, Cain," said King Iligo.
The moment Cain heard his voice, flashbacks from the days he trained under Igo with Higa and Lexa were bursting out of his mind.
“O-oldman!?” Cain’s eyes widened.
Igo’s appearance was 180 degrees different from when he taught the Trio. That's why Cain did not recognize him by just his appearance alone.
“Watch your mou-!”
Igo waved his hand again to interrupt Bagulv’s anger.
“Haha… hahahahaha!” Cain burst into laughter. “All this time… you’re the King?” and end it with a bitter smile.
“Yes, I am King Iligo of Arozora. It's good to see you're fine but, not exactly “fine”," Iligo smirked.
Everyone in the room was dumbfounded. A young man was talking casually with the King.
“Your Majesty, do you know this young man?” Bagulv curiously asked.
“Yeah, but it's not the matter now,” said King Iligo. “Cain, from what the report said, you brutally injured and crippled many Kingsmight, also destroyed the West Pillar. Is it true?” he asked with a serious expression.
“... yes," said Cain coldly.
“Why?” asked Igo while rubbing his beard.
“Hah! You asking why!? Really!? Do you see Higa and Lexa!? No? Ask the Kingsmight I just crippled!” said Cain angrily.
Igo frowned. “Bagulv?”
“Your Majesty, from what we have just gathered from the group that assaulted Dorun Village, some Kingsmight mistook a new Hunter as a smuggler. When we confirm it to the Hunter guild, the victim actually was a legal new Hunter that just took his first quest," said Bagulv.
Apparently, Ivela told her brother to investigate her own group that assaulted Dorun Village by the paper she sent. Her brother responded fast with the report.
“And the name of the victim is Higa Grion," said Bagulv.
Igo’s eyes widened. “Are you sure!?”
“Yes, Your Majesty," Bagulv nodded
Igo simply didn't believe it, he knew what Higa capable of. On the report, there was no casualty on Kingsmight’s side at Dorun Village assault. There's no way Higa couldn’t bring down at least one Kingsmight. "(Heck, Higa could destroy the assault squad by himself except the Vice Captain.)" Igo thought.

“Huh!? That's it!? Just that!? No explanation how the Kingsmight used the kidnapped children as hostages to made Higa and Lexa can’t fight back!? No explanation how he got brutally tortured with seven big stab wounds on his body and left to die!? No explanation how they keep going on even when Lexa already plead they’re innocent!? No explanation how they took Lexa to the dungeon of West Pillar to rape her!?”
Cain panted out of breath. His burst of emotion made the Throne Hall went silent.
“Oh Goddess… Cain, where’s Lexa!?” Igo stood up from the throne.
“Your Majesty, you can't just believe what he sa-”
“Bagulv, you asked me if I know him? I don't just know him, he with the other two are my disciples. I never taught them to lie!” said King Iligo.
Everyone in the room was dumbfounded, again.
The Mighty Iligo who always refused the plea from anyone to become his disciple, just announced he had disciple, disciples.
In Ivela’s mind, now it all made sense, no wonder he could wreck an entire squad of Kingsmight, he was the disciple of the strongest man in the continent after all.
“Were. You left us, remember?” said Cain.
Igo let out a bitter smile.
“As for Lexa, She gave her life to protect me. That’s why I decide to blow up the West Pillar! Tsk! Kingsmight my ass! They swore to protect the King and his people, but just look what they have done. We just wanted a better life with an honest job!” said Cain.
“Oh Goddess… Lexa…” Igo closed his eyes while his hand on his forehead.
“But you have no right to persecute others!” Ivela grabbed Cain’s collar.
“Heh… does Kingsmight have rights to torture innocent people and rape? And don’t forget, the Kingsmight members that handled the smugglers wete under your command, Lady Caral," said Cain.
“Kuhh!” Ivela couldn't talkback, she knew Cain was right. She released Cain's collar in frustration.
Everyone was silent after Cain’s respond to Ivela.
“Your Majesty, before you pass me the judgement, would you listen to my request first?” Cain bowed his head a bit. He called Igo with his title to make it formal.
“What is it?” Igo sat back on the throne.
“I’d like to challenge him on a fight, right this moment," Cain pointed towards a Kingsmight that stood not far.
A tall Kingsmight. He held a weapon, a spear. There’s a white eagle ornaments on it. It was Eagle’s Talon.
“You’re the last of the target, the one who tortured Higa,” said Cain. “How do I know? Heh, Higa describes you perfectly on his sketches," Cain stared at him with piercing eyes.
The tall Kingsmight looked at Cain with a calm expression, then to the King.
“Your Majesty, may I?” The tall Kingsmight asked King Iligo for permission.
“Kirs, isn't it? Fine, do it here," Igo approved. As he wanted to smack this man by himself because of what Cain said, He remained composed.
The Kingsmight members gave them a big space enough to duel at their hearts content.
When Ivela was about to release the Arcnomger on Cain, the Arcnomger had been broken into three pieces.
“Told you," Cain cracked his fingers.
Ivela was just speechless, he just easily broke it and how.
“You… you need any weapons?” offered Ivela. After she heard the truth, Ivela now felt sympathy for him.
“Nope," Cain replied.
Cain and Kirs walked to the center.
“I am Kirs, rank 30th. The second strongest Kingsmight under Vice Captain Ivela Caral," Kirs smiled.
“Quit the pleasantries, I know you’re wearing a mask, hiding your sadistic nature. And that weapon, not yours!” said Cain.
Kirs smiled. “Then, let's fight!” Kirs dashed towards Cain.
He skillfully swung Eagle’s Talon, but none of them touched Cain.
When Cain was about to counter, Kirs took a step back, but Cain won't let him had an ideal range of spear. Cain narrowed the gap between them while evading the swings and thrusts.
Finally, Cain saw an opening, he slapped Kirs’s face. Hard.
“Guh!! Did you just slap m-”
Cain landed another hard slap to Kirs’s face. Kirs took a few steps back.
“As expected of the Kingsmight, you survived my slaps," Cain stopped his attack and praised Kirs with a sarcastic tone.
“Fuck you!” His face was red with hand marks on each side.
