《Grand Magus》Chapter 12 Alchemy Set

As Fraser opened his eyes he immediately noticed that the headache vanished.
'AI, what information does the black substance contain?'
[Sorted the information into one separate folder, named Alchemy. It contains the information on how to let basic materials react with each other, extract basic materials and let prepared or raw materials fuse in to a potion]
'So what do I need to buy in order to produce a potion? Is there anything special I need to procure?'
[In order to create potions normal flask and materials are needed, it is recommended to go to the market section in order to search for a steady supply of resources. It will also enable the host to gather data in order to maximize the income percentage]
Thinking for a while Fraser moved out in order to look at the market section. It felt a little bit suspicious but the older apprentice didn't showed the new students the market.
While walking towards the market Fraser also looked into the schedule of the free lessons and their content. As Fraser had the AI he didn't care what lesson was free as the AI would get more Data in order to analyze things better.
Surprisingly there was a free lesson every day. From basic botany to controlling particles everything was there.
Sadly Fraser already missed the free lesson for today and thus continued to the market section.
As soon as he stepped into the section gate he felt as if entering another world. Teenager, young adults, adults and old people hurried around doing their stuff.
Some people even opened their shop simply by sitting in front of a carpet with things on top.
Naturally there were also normal shops with attendants sitting or standing in the shop. Though the prices were probably higher than the one selling with a carpet.
Not only that, Fraser saw people haggling with each other or shouting their respected goods. The question was if they would really sell real products.

Fraser even heard one shouting out that there was a brilliant sword which could cut through anything being sold on his carpet.
Shaking his head inwardly Fraser walked into a real shop with a flask sign on top of it.
A lazily looking fat teenager sat on top of a chair, clearing looking at every female butt that passed the window.
"I would like a Basic Alchemy set, how much does it cost?" asked Fraser immediately as he entered the shop.
Without even looking at Fraser the Fatty replied:
"Another fool trying to learn Alchemy, a new set cost 10 magi stones, the second hand sets range from 1 to 5 magic stones. A basic potion recipe costs 5 magic stones."
Ignoring the way the fatty treated him Fraser continued to ask questions: "What are there for recipes that can be bought? And can I buy the materials in this shop?"
"One magic stone for materials enough for 10 potions. We have the recipe for basic strengthening potion, basic wound mending potion, basic explosion potion and a lot more, though if you want to sell your potions then try to use these three. They are always in demand and if you manage to somehow create a miracle and create one of these potions you can sell them to our shop." replied the fatty immediately as if he had repeated this information countless times.
"How much do these three potions sell for?" asked Fraser, not knowing which one would be the most profitable.
With an annoying voice the fatty replied while at the same time turning towards Fraser.
"It's really hard to make a potion, you know that if you fail then we won't return the magic crystal for the materials you used. Also we won't buy failed products as they are mostly poisonous."
As soon as the fatty glanced at Fraser he looked shocked.

"Do you even have enough magic crystals to buy anything?"
'Something is suspicious, why does the fatty think I don't have enough magic crystals? I do think that not many children would have a lot of magic crystals but the twins each possessed ten of these magic crystals and the tuition only cost me three of these magic crystals.
After a short moment of silence Fraser spoke: "Is there a reason why I shouldn't have magic crystals?"
The fatty stared at Fraser after the question, still with shock.
At the same time Fraser also asked the AI to look for a reason.
'AI, is there any reason why the fatty thinks I have to possess zero magic crystals? Or is something wrong with me that the fatty looks so shocked.'
[Searching the recent memories. There could be the reason because of the yearly tuition fee which consists of 10 magic crystals. They probably have not been paid yet and still have to be paid]
Quickly the fatty calmed down before asking: "Do you even have a chance of making a potion?"
"My mentor is Magus Sept and I chose the topic of Alchemy." replied Fraser in a steady tone.
As soon as the fatty heard the word "Magus Sept" his eyes shone and quickly coughed in order to hide his reaction from earlier.
"How about you allow me as a senior student of the Howling Abyss Academy to gift you a second handed Alchemy Set? Containing the basic set necessary in order to create a potion. Also the first ten dozen flasks are free. If you are able to create one potion with these ten dozen flasks then you can apply for another ten dozen flasks."
Fraser accepted the proposal with a poker face and even chose the second handed Alchemy set which in his opinion as well as the opinion of the AI looked the best and probably performed the best.
Naturally Fraser needed one recipe and thus after considering the selling prices of each potion chose the basic explosion potion which could be sold for five magic crystals instead of the other two potions which would have sold for four magic crystals.
Thus Fraser ended up spending six magic crystals, for the recipe and the ten materials which were black stones.
After visiting the shop Fraser immediately moved back to his chamber, not seeing anybody on his way.
Arriving at his Chamber he immediately put the Alchemy set on his wooden table which he acquired for free.
Acquiring free furniture wasn't a right that belonged to Fraser alone, instead every student of the howling abyss academy had the right to acquire free furniture. As Fraser had the necessary strength he even carried every furniture alone and thus didn't used the free workers.
Who the "free workers" were? A bunch of children that probably couldn't pay the fee in order to register as a student.
Fraser had to thank the twins for dying as he would have become a "free worker" if he wasn't able to procure the three magic crystals for the registration.
Glancing at the recipe Fraser saw his future money source. Future as Fraser still wasn't able to create a potion as he wasn't Apprentice level 1.
So instead of drooling over the flasks, the free Alchemy set and the ten black stones Fraser meditated in order to increase his spirit and feed his AI with more Data.
As he hoped that the AI would eventually be able to create a Meditation Technique better than the Basic Meditation Technique. Or at least increase the Basic Meditation Technique.
Closing his Eyes Fraser started his meditation.

AOT: Boats
I know, the title doesnt seem to make sense. Its an acronym. For what? Hm. T means True. Up to you otherwise. Oh, right. The acronym actually does have an impact on one of the themes of the "story". At the same time I mixed it up with a reference to the original plan for this when I started, so yay. A double. Well, actually, a triple. Again, up to you. I should also mention that, as the rhyme that starts the story probably tells you, its gonna get kinda disturbing. All kinds of disturbing. Just to let you know.

RED
Valley City. Up until around twenty years ago, it had been a nowhere place. Just a bunch of towns with no real reputation. Now, though, it's known for its progression in medical science. The Medical Technologies Company. It seemed to suddenly appear out of nowhere in the middle of what's now called City Center. Once just a manufacturer and developer of medical equipment, it eventually started to dabble in medical research. Before anyone even knew it, they were the leading research entities, with five seperate buildings in Valley City alone, all towering above everything else in the area. Some say they even swayed the local government into combining the old towns into one city and popularized prosthetic limbs as fashion themselves, but that's just gossip. Matthew Vega. A 25-year-old college dropout, tricked by MediTech into being experimented on under the pretense of participating in a clinical trial for rent money. After being broken out of their facility nearly a year after having her limbs replaced, then having her liberator captured, she seeks a way to dismantle the company or save the one she cares about. NOTE: Currently I am working on a rewrite. I will post a new chapter once that is ready, listed as V2CH-001. I hope you look forward to it.
