《Bathilda the Bat》The Rocky Road Ahead

Bathilda slurps her way through the delicious remains of the last three corpses, refilling her health and earning another level up in the process. With her life force restored to full, the wing that was previously in tatters has magically healed itself and Bathilda is once again able to fly.
'That was too close. I can't believe I actually did it. I even managed to resist the pull of blood. Well, I killed the other two at least before I lost myself that time, after that,' trying to remember what happened after she let herself go to the insatiable urge, she is stumped. Bathilda only has a few slight recollections of the moments in between swapping bodies every time her current one ran dry.
You're telling me. I thought we were going to die. You kicked ass Bathilda!
'See, that's motivational. Why couldn't you say something like that before?' Still annoyed at the lack of morale support from her leech, Bathilda questions his words during the battle.
Honestly. I do not know what to tell you. With how you looked and the state of your wing, I literally thought that was the end for us.
'Yeah, I heard that bit. Why do you think you will see God again if we die?' curious to hear his answer, she asks Hiro another question.
Haha. Everyone who lives an honest life and tries their best to help others will meet God one way or another.
'That's my point Hiro. What have you, or I for that matter, done in this new life that is worthy enough to get you another audience in the Oasis?' with her last question hitting home, Hiro finally remembers something. He's never going to be able to help anyone himself if he is always stuck inside Bathilda's mind.

We must find me a body, as soon as possible. Then we can do great things and help many people together. Do not mistake my intentions though Bathilda, I generally just want to help people for no other reason than self satisfaction. I have no desire to go back to the Oasis, unless it is a pitstop on the path to reincarnation that is. I will never make the mistake of wishing to remain there again.
'So you don't want to see God again?' now confused, her next question is for her own clarification this time. 'Why were you talking about him before then during the fight?'
I'm scared that he's going to be pissed at me for hijacking your reincarnation and leaving without permission.
'Fair enough. I might be a bit worried if I was on his bad side too. Never mind God or the Oasis for the moment, I want to get out of this damn cave but I still feel as though I've barely made a dent. I feel like I've accomplished quite a lot and not much of anything at the same time. Does that make sense?'
Not in the slightest, but again I just want to say that you did well in that last battle.
'Thank you, Hiro. On that note, I feel as though we should head back to the hideout I made but I don't really know why? I'm not tired. Maybe it's the human in me? I don't know but we're not doing that anyway, I still need to get stronger. Stronger than I am now. Strong enough so I don't have to worry about the stupid Brat's and their stupid tails either. Strong enough to fly out of here and not have to worry about where I rest my head,' determination wells up inside Bathilda as she states her goals.

I like it!
'Good because that's not where it ends.'
What do you mean?
'Look at me, Hiro. I'm a Bat. Well actually, if you want to get technical, I'm a Blood Sucking Bat. Everytime I use move around I try not to look at myself because it's a bit weird and awkward, sometimes scary. Now, imagine how other people are going to feel when I rock up and say 'hey, I can heal you, don't worry!' they're going to freak the hell out, right?'
I see your point now. Damn. That sucks for you.
'Don't say it like that, asshole! If I can't help anyone out how are you supposed to?'
I don't know? I thought we might just find a body.
'A dead body. One that has Ben left to decompose?'
Or I thought that you might be able to make me one?
'How the hell am I supposed to make you a body?'
I don't know? You shoot magic blades of wind out from your wings. I thought it might be something like that. I did tell you there was no magic in my world didn't I? I'm not sure how it works to be honest.
'How do you expect me to know then?'
Well... You've been doing OK so far. You knew to evolve and level up, right?
'Only because Florence appeared as I was literally about to die so that she could advise me. Bitch.'
Oh! That's some change in attitude. What's up with you? Shocked at Bathilda cursing the woman left in the Oasis, Hiro is curious as to why.
'I'm just pissed off Hiro. Seriously, I can't help anyone like this and it's starting to get to me. I didn't want to die in a Tornado. I didn't ask to be a bat. And I don't want to be stuck inside this stupid cave forever! Stupid Florence and her lack of information. Are we sure she wasn't a nurse in her past life and not in sales,' letting out a sigh Bathilda reveals her true feelings to her leeching companion. 'If my evolutionary choices don't go the way I want them too, then I think we're screwed Hiro.'
So... Leveling up time? Lost in Bathilda's ramblings, Hiro offers the only suggestion he can think of that matches her comments.
'Yes, Hiro. That's exactly what time it is,' confirming his suggestion, Bathilda spreads her wings and sets off in the direction of the unknown.

Deviant's Masquerade: The Huntsman's Quest (An Urban Magic Quest/RPG)
Jon Whitaker went to summer camp expecting a nice relaxing time as a newly minted counselor in training. He was not expecting to fight an army of monsters, work with a serial killer, enter a one-sided friendship with an eldritch horror, or study under a competing witch and dark lord. But regardless of what he was expecting, his summer is over and he's made his way back home where he can try and return to a normal -for him- life. Too bad life rarely goes as expected. --- Please Note: This is forum quest/RPG I run in the same city/setting as my other stories Hacking Reality and Get Ink'd, meaning that while a majority of the plot is made up by me, the major choices as well as what each chapter is about are usually made by the actual readers in forum votes. Additionally, given how this is essentially a story version of a Tabletop game there is also a background RPG system that while the characters aren't necessarily aware of, the readers can see these stats to know how each chosen 'Action' effects their character's development.

But what will he do when he finds himself alone in this strange new place with only his two creations by his side. Lacking his humanity, he must wrestle with his choices, which could end with thousands dead or change this new world. He is not the only powerful player of YGGDRASIL here, nor will he be the last. Yet his power may be more a burden as he tries to find a role to take in this new world. There is some profanity, but It will but only a little.
