I've been trying to think of other ways to prepare for the war… I can't really think of any other ways to prepare… I still feel there are more things I could do before the fight. Any last minute thing I could do to increase the chances of success… Aegis speaks up.

“I've been thinking of an idea for a few months now… About doing more soul pacts.”

“The last time I tried to for a soul pact, both me and Darkclaw almost died.”

“Yes, because you're stats were so different… What if I absorbed your stats so they were identical to the pet you were going to form a soul pact with.”

“… That might work.”

Lust speaks up now.

“Are you trying to get rid of me?”

“N-no… But if you had to choose. Which pet would you like to be in?”

“Hmm… The fox girl is pretty cute. She has already went through my memories as well so we should get along okay.”

I guess there isn't anything else to it besides testing it… Maybe I should hold back on forming too many soul pacts though… One for now is fine. I head to find Red… She normally lounges around the hot springs in her downtime. I head there and I call out for her. She comes across the fence completely naked to answer me… Yea, she matches Lust fairly well…

“Okay so first…. PUT SOME CLOTHS ON!”

She gets dressed and comes out.

“What do you need master?”

“How would you feel about forming a pact with me?”

With a smile across her face, we separate and go to make the pact. I'll form more pacts once I get more traits to pass along. With how much help Greed is to Darkclaw… This seems like a good idea. I don't think I would be able to do anything if I continued to hold onto my past life voices. Having 1 extra voice in my head at a time is already distracting enough. I'll also be able to ask for their help from the people who they are put into. Before I start I have to ask first.

“Are you okay with this? You'll get another voice in your head”

“If it is for you master. I'll take ten voices in my head.”

We start the soul pact. Cutting both our hands to let some blood come out. Before I use the skill I ask for her stats. She didn't want to reveal them but after telling her it would help with the success she begrudgingly told me.

(Red's stats) (strength- 450) (dexterity- 650) (intelligence- 2500) (stamina- 1250) (total= 4850)

Her stats were around what I thought they would be. I expected her intelligence to be slightly higher. I'm going to have to increase my own intelligence to equal ours out. I'll probably get 100-200 intelligence from forming a pact with her. As well as 20-100 in the other stats. She'll get a far bigger boost to her stats then I will from the pact. My dexterity is as high as it is because of my pact with Darkclaw… The next time he evolves, I'm expecting another huge boost to that particular stat.

Aegis adjusts my stats to match. I start the pact. This time when our souls come out. Lust intentionally jumps to Red's soul. The pain is far less intense then when I formed it with Darkclaw. It feels uncomfortable still but I don't think I'm going to die from this. Red looks a little queasy but doesn't look much in pain. We finish the pact.

Druid skill magic Fox form- Shape shift form to that of a nine tailed fox (increase to all fire and illusion based magic) Title gained Pact maker- Form at least 2 pact in your lifetime, decrease the discomfort of the pact monster while forming the pact

… I didn't expect to gain levels in classes from forming a soul pact. I'm a bit sad I didn't get another extinct class but understand that Darkclaw is a very special pet. That title I received as well… That seems very convenient for my pets. I get the feeling I was in more pain then Red was during that pact… I think it might be… The more pacts I form… The more difficult it will be to form more.

Speaking of which… Red could also form pacts… Perhaps we'll discuss this more in the future… The biggest threat for forming pacts is… If anything I have formed a soul pact with dies… I will feel the pain as well. Feel the full pain of something dying... I can become very sick or even die from a pact breaking. So forming pacts with every single monster I come across would be impossible.

I feel… A little more prepared for this war… Still 2 days until the first attack… It is now night time. This is still the same day as when we had gotten out of the time tree… Perhaps I'll go inside for another 2 months… No, I can't keep relying on that tree. If I spend all my time in the tree I will grow old as the world stays the same. I need to push forwards. I need to continue living and stop being so afraid of what might happen… I need to go talk with Leaf.

I get dressed for bed. I haven't really done anything today… I knock on Leaf's door and don't get a response… Is she out? I don't think she would mind me waiting in her room for her. I enter the room and she is hurriedly putting on her sleeping cloths. I see just enough… I call out.

“Why didn't you tell me to wait a few seconds?”

“I-I didn't expect you to come in if I didn't call out to you.”

“So… Were you trying to avoid me then?”

“NO! I was in the middle of changing!”

I'll drop it for now… I need to move on to the next step with Leaf. We could both die in this war against the pirates. I don't want to wait for this relationship continue at a snails pace. I need to keep it moving forwards with me.

“Leaf. Is it all right if I kiss you?”

She looks down at her feet and then to her side before answering.

“I guess it would be okay… I mean we did kiss already.”

I walk close to her. She is still looking to the side… I grab her chin with my hand and kiss her. It isn't anything special for a kiss… Honestly, our first one was far better. So I try to copy it and hug her to spin her around. I start to spin her but her foot clips the corner of the bed and she bites down on my lip reflexively from the pain. I accidentally let go of her and throw her across the room.

Wham! She slams her head off of her dresser. I rush over to her and go to help her up. The sheet of steel she uses as a mirror falls off onto my head when I get over to her. It hurts but I don't flinch, I ran over to her to make sure she was okay. I look down at her and she is rubbing the back of her head where she hit it on the dresser. She looks up at me and just starts to laugh. I can only laugh with her. What a mess we are. I lean down to kiss her again.

It is just another kiss but at least she isn't afraid of moving forwards anymore. While I would have liked more to happen that is all I'll attempt today. I pull out some pillows I had made for myself and start placing them on the floor before Leaf stops to ask what I'm doing.

“You've kicked me off the bed both times we've slept together. I always wake up sore when I sleep with you…”

She blushes and probably hasn't even realized she was kicking me off. I laugh again and kiss her on the forehead.

“Don't worry about it. We can go to sleep now if you would like.”

Once again… Going to be difficult to sleep tonight because I'm so excited.

Neko's point of view

I open Kite's door as silently as I can. Sneaking in it is pitch dark, if I was in my cat form I could see perfectly though. I stay human form so I can cuddle with Kite though. I let out a few giggles as I sneak on to his bed. Then I feel a weird pillow. It is a very soft pillow, I go to climb over it and it is gigantic. Then I remember Kite saying something about Sock sleeping in the same room and almost let out a yelp. But it is too big to be him… Doesn't kite have some big lizard thing as a pet too? That is probably what it is.

I climb over it, it must be a heavy sleeper because I'm pretty sure I stepped on it's face. Tripping I land on something really soft. This pillow is really giggly. Like a pillow of jelly, I hear a female moan as I play with the pillow… This is Red's boob! Why would she sleep in her human form over her fox form? Is she trying to seduce Kite too!? I twist her boobs but that only makes her moan again… She's a weirdo. I have to find Kite.

I continue to move around the bed. Where is Kite? I get to the only humanoid on the bed… This has to be him. I feel his face… It is very furry, furrier than I thought it would be. I did see he had hair on his face. I didn't think it would feel this way though. I snuggle up as close to him as I can. I'm really excited and a little over a minute of laying there he puts his arms around me pulling me in close. His embrace is very warm. I feel safe here. I fall asleep after that.

I wake up the next morning and sun comes through the window. The entire room is lit up now. When the giant lizard thing woke up and got off the bed is shook the entire bed enough to wake up almost everyone. I wonder how Kite is going to act seeing me in his arms. I hear a voice call out from behind me… It isn't Kite's.

“Neko… What are you doing here? Why are my arms wrapped around you?”

“I k-know that voice! You're the dog! How did you change places with Kite!?”

“Kite didn't sleep here last night. He slept in Leaf's room.”

I should be afraid that the dog man is holding me… I'm not… My heart sinks when I hear Kite is sleeping with someone else… I guess… He is already taken… I should have know that… He seems like an amazing person… Of course he would be in a relationship… I begin to cry hard enough to start to get the dog's arm wet.

“Hey… Why are you crying?”

“Kite is with someone else.”

Instead of letting go the arms only hug me closer, trying to comfort me. This guy who I was afraid of eating me. Is comforting me because I'm sad… It doesn't feel too bad either. He whispers in my ear.

“I can let you go if you want.”

“No… Can we just stay like this for awhile…”

This dog man is so warm… I almost fall asleep again. I don't even know his name, I only call him dog man, not knowing his name.

“Hey… What is your name?”

“It's Sock.”
