《The Aether Universe》Chapter 57

"Hush, Nagi. This is your senior, Fenrir," Tai said to Nagi.
Nagi was surprised, not knowing that he had a senior. "Senior? This wolf?"
Tai laughed as he inspected Fenrir, who had grown from his past, small form, to his now towering, 10 foot tall werewolf form. "It seems you have grown stronger too."
Anna watched the scene from outside of the diner, tears welling up in her eyes as she saw her brother who had been gone for 6 months. "T-Tai? You're back?"
Tai's head jerked up, hearing his sister's voice. "Anna?"
Anna rushed towards her brother, similar to how her mom did and hugged him as she cried on his chest.
"Wha- who are you to touch master?" Fenrir said.
"Calm down, Fenrir. This is my sister."
"Is that why she smelled familiar, but also not?" Fenrir said out loud before turning to his pack members. "Everyone, this is my master. Bow down to him and his sister. Consider him above me, the Alpha and if any of you have problems with that, then I'll personally deal with you."
The pack did as they were told, bowing down and howling to their alpha's master.
Luna watched from the side, smiling at seeing her daughter and son's reunion.
"When did you get back?" Anna asked him.
"Uhh, a few hours ago I'd say. Mom told me that you'd be coming tonight so I've just been passing the time here." Tai looked at the wolves and scratched his ears as they continued howling. "Fenrir, can you tell them to be quiet? I want to enjoy my reunion with my family."
Fenrir nodded and waved his hand, causing the wolves to shut their mouths and be quiet.
"You should've messaged me. I would've left the dungeon as soon as I received your message."

"Yeah, but it's fine. I don't want you to cancel your dungeon expedition just for me. What level are you guys on anyway?"
"It's fine. We're siblings and getting stronger, and money is less important than my brother. My party reached level 32 today. It's pretty high considering we're all under level 320 and we're just a party of 6 including me. How about you? I haven't checked the leaderboard in a while but you were in the top 5 last I checked in levels which is crazy."
"32? I guess it's decent," Tai said, rubbing his chin. "Uhh, I reached level 91, also, I'm in the top 5? Really?" Tai was a bit surprised, not expecting to be in the top 5 globally.
Top 5? I guess I downplayed myself a bit, but it's nice to know that I'm one of the strongest here now.
"9-91? How?! Did you have someone help you?" Anna kept up with the news of the planet and knew that people had reached the 90th level, but that was usually with a party, and as far as she knew, Tai did it alone.
Tai nodded. "Yeah. Well, I wasn't exactly alone. I had my buddy Nagi here to help me. Also a good guy to talk to so I don't go crazy from loneliness."
Tai formed Nagi in his weapon form, showing Anna. "Behold my physical form!"
Anna looked at the weapon weirdly, and then to his brother. To her, the weapon that Tai was holding looked like an ordinary weapon, aside from being made of darkness and its draconic aura. She also couldn't hear Nagi talk unless Nagi wanted her to hear him. "Maybe you did go crazy?"
Anna giggled like a little kid, imagining her brother talking to a weapon.

"Hey, I'm not crazy. Nagi, talk to her."
"Ah, apologies. Hello, sister of my master. You might be related to my master, but I will only follow master, and master only."
Anna blinked a few times, hearing Nagi talk. "Wait, so you're actually alive?"
"Alive and breathing. Well... not actually breathing, but who cares about that. Master mainly uses me in my naginata form, but sometimes I'll turn into a miniature dragon that can be used as a scout. Pretty cool, huh?"
"Master, your weapon is talking!" Fenrir said.
"I know. This is Nagi, your junior, and I expect you two to cooperate."
"Yes, master!" Fenrir and Nagi said in unison.
Tai talked with Anna and Fenrir for the rest of the night. Fenrir told him about what happened ever since they split up. He told him how he started making his own pack and how he had gotten the powers of one of the Seven Deadly Sins, which made Tai remember that he had a trial with the Deadly Sin, Sloth a while ago that he forgot.
Anna also told Tai how strong she had gotten, telling him that her body was no longer normal and was comprised fully of blood. Looks were deceiving as although Anna was made entirely of blood, she did not look different from her past self.
Hearing the benefits of having a near intangible body, Tai made a mental note for himself to accept the darkness within him, which would turn his body that was only partially darkness to a body that was only comprised of darkness.
Just like Anna, if he had this body, he would be near intangible to normal attacks, allowing him to ignore rifle bullets if they weren't imbued with anything.
While Tai was catching up with his sister and Fenrir, he detected a few people spying on them that were definitely from the UEE. Using his new technique that he made with darkness, he eliminated the spies' senses which didn't break the no violence rule of the aether cities since the technique wasn't hurting or indirectly hurting anyone.
"As expected of Master, you detected them before me," Fenrir said, praising his master once more.
Anna heard Fenrir, confused at what he was talking about.

Displacement
or, Deux Navires Passant dans la Nuit If you wake up in a new world, with only your memories of home to guide you, you have to trust the first people you meet. The first people Leah meets seem to know her - but not her. Leah is thrust into a fighter's role that does not quite suit her, and those who 'rescued' her do their best to help her fit in. They hint at a world that Leah can only vaguely understand without serious research and exploration, but how to do that research, when everyone believes her to be a local of this place, and too many questions might draw unwanted attention? And what about home? The more Leah learns about this world, the less she believes that she woke up on the right side of the bed - or more accurately, on the right side of the conflict. With magic being strictly regulated in her current "home," maybe it's time to uproot and look for a new set of allies... -- Displacement is a queer / lgbt bodyswap isekai: Leah Armande falls out of a Quebecois city into an unfamiliar fantasy world, and Leah Talesh falls out of her adventuring party's homeland and into an unfamiliar industrial world. The story follows both women as they navigate their new surroundings, trying at times to find a way home, at times just to pass for a local, and at times to actually make a life for themselves in their new world. Expect in-depth politics and worldbuilding, sapphic moments, foibles, and far too much time spent either in libraries or convalescing (or sometimes both).
