You like that cliffhanger in the last chapter? No, I'm sure you didn't but for the sake of plot I had to. Sorry. Here, we shall fill that cliffhanger eh?

Feng Yun was clueless about what to do in this situation. The beast was too strong. He could not sense the cultivation of it but from the pale looks of Guo Leng and the elders, it should be stronger than even them. Feng Yun did not have any strategies for defeating the massive beast. His strength was too low and his assassin skills would not do shit against a high defense monster like the Snow Demon Ogre. He could not expect to escape under the monster's piercing gaze. The only hope he had was managing to get past the ogre and entering the treasury it had. If he could somehow use whatever was there in order to kill it, then the group would be saved. It was a risky bet, but Feng Yun was placing all of his hopes on it.
He looked up from his thoughts to see that the elders from the Guo Family as well as a few Xiantian Cultivators from outside were attempting to suppress the monster. Hao Jiang was among these people. They unleashed their qi to the max and encircled the ogre. These cultivators had the cultivation of the fifth and sixth layer of the Xiantian realm and were very powerful. Furthermore, their movements appeared to be coordinated. This kind of coordinated attack would make even cultivators at the Xiantian Eighth Layer slightly wary. The monster was not even fazed however. It merely stared at then and it's enormous claws opened up and unleashed a flurry of ice cold qi that rushed at the Xiantian cultivators.
"Xiantian Realm...Eighth Layer Peak stage!" Guo Leng shouted at the top of his lungs. He himself was only at the seventh layer of the Xiantian realm. Even if they were to coordinate against it, they would still suffer massive casualties. Feng Yun and Xia Qing opened their eyes wide with shock.
"Xiantian realm eighth stage peak. Why the hell would you call us Tempered Body layer cultivators here if the opponent was at this level!?" Feng Yun was furious and said this with a frown. Xia Qing also had the same reaction. Guo Leng still had a terrified look on his face.
"Three years ago...when we last fought it, it was at the Xiantian realm third layer and we were still unable to defeat it. How could it have made this much of a growth in only three years?!" Guo Leng was slightly despaired. Feng Yun was slightly surprised. Five stages passed through in such a short time? A normal beast like this who isn't even a divine beast shouldn't be able to have this much talent, unless something assisted it.
"It couldn't be...in its treasury is something that helped it out with its cultivation." Feng Yun thought this was the most logical conclusion and stared at the large black entrance behind the Snow Demon Ogre. the gigantic beast swiped it's claws at the experts. Their coordination was enough to avoid the most destructive parts of the attack but they still staggered and suffered minor internal injuries. The snow demon ogre didn't possess too much combat experience, Feng Yun realized. It had been cooped up in here for so long that it didn't have the chance so fight with other beasts that much. It's aura is also slightly unstable. It should have made a breakthrough not too long ago and never stabilized it. This was good for the opposing side but the power that the ogre exhibited was still not something to laugh at. They needed to be very careful.

Guo Leng reached the same conclusion as Feng Yun did and shouted at the Xiantian realm cultivators.
"Initiate the Xiantian Combined Formation!" Guo Leng shouted to the cultivators. They all nodded their heads but the surrounding Tempered Body cultivators were surprised. What was this combined formation. Was it a formation exclusive to Xiantian realm cultivators? Their questions were answered in the next moment.
"Sou!!!" A massive rush of energy began to erupt out of the Xiantian realm cultivators and gradually got stronger. They began to move in a coordinated way until they formed a perfect circle. Guo Leng stood in the center and was drawing on the energy being emitted by the cultivators. His cultivation rose little by little and a celestial aura enveloped him. Feng Yun was awestruck. This was a formation in order to raise ones cultivation for a short period of time. He had read about something similar to this in a book but he could never make the connection. Guo Leng 's cultivation rose from the seventh layer to the peak of the eighth layer of the Xiantian realm.
The ogre slightly furrowed it's eyebrows while pondering why Guo Leng had a sudden rush in cultivation. He also sensed that he was almost as strong as him which made Guo Leng a threat. The ogre bellowed loudly and unleashed a torrent of ice qi at Guo Leng and the formation. Guo Leng didn't even flinch and said,
"Xiantian Energy Shield!" A large holy shield appeared and covered the while group of Xiantian cultivators. This was another feature of the Xiantian formation. It could conjure a shield to protect the users of the formation. The formation truly was powerful!
"However," Feng Yun said silently while frowning slightly. "There is a large cost to using this formation."
The supporting Xiantian realm cultivators would feel immense fatigue and would be unable to fight or move very well for two weeks. For the center, it was even harsher. The center would succumb to massive internal injuries that could bring him close to death. Guo Leng went in fully prepared with this.
The ogre frowned and it's eyes flashed with fury. It could not believe that someone this weak could block his powerful strike. The ogre roared and launched a multitude of fists against the shield resulting in cracks. Guo Leng and the rest felt their hearts turn cold. The ogre was truly beginning to get serious now.
"You dare try to destroy our formation, I will kill you." Guo Leng shouted and converted a massive amount of energy to his fists. He then charged a blast at the ogre filled with rich qi. The holy blast hot the ogre's chest and made it stagger backwards. The ogre spit out some blood. On its chest was a large bloody wound that seated through its flesh. The previously cold Snow Demon Ogre was now filled with warmth. The warmth of its own blood. The ogre was enraged. It stared at Guo Leng with a furious look. Guo Leng smiled wryly before spitting out a mouthful of blood himself. This was even more than what the ogre spit because Guo Leng's organs were not as tough as the former's.
The ogre sneered and Slapped it's palms together. The energy created a Shockwave and a torrent of snow storms attacked Guo Leng and the crew. The ice cold sensation was something they couldn't block in time and they met it directly. The ice cold sensation weakened their energy and palms and gradually, the formation began to dissipate.
Feng Yun frowned at this. He needed to make his move, now. He motioned to Xia Qing who understood what he was intending. While the ogre was using all of its focus on Guo Leng it was safe enough for Feng Yun and Xia Qing to make it through. They were small enough as well. They hid themselves with qi as best as they could and crept towards the cave entrance on the side. The ogre didn't notice them and continued it's barrage of attacks against Guo Leng and the crew who looked very pale with fright. Feng Yun looked at them with an apologetic glance. If what he obtained was powerful, perhaps it would be able to kill the ogre. So until then, they needed to hold out. Hao Jiang could be seen gritting his teeth while trying desperately to hold the formation. Feng Yun then headed towards the cave entrance with Xia Qing without turning back.

The cave entrance was extremely dark and gave the feeling of an intimidating pressure. When they got further enough into the cave, Feng Yun lit up some fire and illuminated the cave. It was completely made of ice excluding a large hole at the end. Feng Yun noticed a shiny glint there and his eyes narrowed. He pointed to the hole and gestured Xia Qing to the hole. The latter nodded her head and the two rushed into the hole.
Feng Yun and Xia Qing stepped in quietly and what they were met with completely surprised them. There was a large amount of weapons and armor compiled into a huge pile. They ranged from short swords to daggers to heavy swords. Some gave off a powerful qi but most were just normal swords. Feng Yun was not really interested in those as he had an extremely powerful sword, the Overlord Heaven Piercer.
What truly caught his eyes was a rainbow colored plant hovering above the pile. The plant was not very tall. It was about two feet tall with only one pair of leaves. The leaves gave off an enormous pressure that seemed to endlessly weigh down on Feng Yun. Xia Qing also felt the same way. The plant had to be above the Xiantian realm. The ogre must have been absorbing the energy that the plant gave off and making a huge rise in cultivation because of this. If Feng Yun and Xia Qing swallowed the plant, perhaps they would step into the Xiantian realm. Feng Yun could skip the entire month required to break into the Xiantian realm in one fell swoop and possibly step into the second layer. Feng Yun and Xia Qing leaped above the pile of weapons and arrived at the plant.
"Xia Qing, let's each take one leaf of the plant and consume it. We should be able to have a substantial rise in cultivation and perhaps help out the others."
"Agreed, we need to be strong enough jn order to support them. We must eat it." Xia Qing nodded in agreement.
Feng Yun reached his hands to grasp the plant and felt a hot sensation burning him slightly. However, his flesh began healing itself at the same rate jn response. Feng Yun took his other hand and tore of the leaves of the plant. He gave one to Xia Qing and took one himself. They both swallowed it simultaneously and the effects became apparent. Their bodies were enveloped in a celestial aura. This was the same aura as the usual when they make a breakthrough but it was different. A rainbow colored qi surrounded them and their bodies began reconstructing themselves. The bones and muscles were broken over and over again and it was an excruciating process.
Many times, they felt as if they would die but they gritted their teeth and persisted. Ordonarily, Feng Yun should have been able to bypass the Xiantian realm easily because of the pill. However, the pill's effect of having no pain when breaking through completely disappeared and what was replaced was a hellish pain. Sweat beaded on their brows. Then, the aura began to grow larger and larger until it could no longer hold. The shockwave caused by the bridge between the dantian and meridians solidifying pushed then into the Xiantian realm. Xia Qing was first since she had to break through to the ninth layer of the Tempered Body first.
Tempered Body 9th layer!
Xiantian Realm 1st Layer!
Xia Qing's growth stopped there and the hazy glow around her face gradually dimmed until it was but a shade. She looked much more delicate than before and seemed enchanting. Feng Yun was next. A charging sound was being made and prepared for a release. It then came out like a hose.
Xiantian Realm 1st Layer!
Xiantian Realm 2nd Layer!
Feng Yun stopped there and let out a smile. He had broken through to the Xiantian realm far sooner than he had expected. By accessing the Xiantian realm, he had a large variety of skills available to him now. This plant's properties were truly powerful. It's no wonder that the ogre grew so strong in only three years. Feng Yun took a look at his dantian and was surprised to see that there was seven colors bordering each other within the dantian. It still retained it's bluish gold outer rim however. His spiritual energy storage grew even larger than before. His spirits's power had been multiplied by ten times. His gains were very great this time. He even learned the third chapter of the inheritance skillbook. He still had one trump card that he hadn't used but he didn't want to reveal that just yet.
He turned his head and saw Xia Qing walk towards him with a smile on her face. She had made a great leap as well and they were now Xiantian realm cultivators. They were actually the youngest people to ever have broken through to the Xiantian realm but they did not know that. They were only eleven and had broken through through the Xiantian realm. They weren't even at their peak cultivation age which ranged from thirteen to twenty five years old. At their level of strength. They should be able to assist in the Xiantian Combined Formation. The duo, knowing the urgency of the situation rushed out of the cave.
What they were met with was a very bloody sight.
The Xiantian realm cultivators all lay on the floor with some of their body parts torn apart in different places. They had horrible internal injuries and slashes across their bodies. It was horrifying. Hao Jiang was one of the lucky ones. He had a few internal injuries and a slash going through his torso. It wasn't very deep however so he was fine. Guo Leng was the worst off. He kneeled on one foot clutched his bleeding arm. Blood was covering him from head to toe and his bones could be clearly seen from the level of injuries that he had received. He spit out blood every five seconds and it looked as if he could die any moment. His cultivation was ruined and he could barely stand.
"You damn bastard of an ogre! I used my most forbidden of techniques, the Earth Shattering Enhancement and it still didn't kill you. I'm even about to die and you're not dead. Go fuck yourself in hell you bastard." Guo Leng had a tired expression but it was still filled with regret. He then sank down into the ground and didn't move. That was it. Guo Leng, the master of the Guo Family and City Lord of Snow Beast Town was dead. Killed by an ogre.
The ogre on the other hand, was not as bad. It had several bloody injuries and fatal hits dealt towards it but still was not yet dead. It had a terrifying tenacity to survive. Right now, it's strength should be on about the Xiantian Realm 3rd or 4th layer. I should be able to use my newfound skills to defeat it, Feng Yun thought. Xia Qing was still only at the first lager so she could not do much. Feng Yun on the other hand was at the second layer and was able to match up to opponents that were one or two levels higher than him.
The ogre changed its target suddenly. After raising that Guo Leng was dead, it gave one last sneer towards him and moved towards another target. Unluckily, the target was Hao Jiang. The latter let out a sigh of regret knowing his death was coming soon. He let out a calm smile.
"Haa, it looks like my life ends here. Too bad. I guess this is what fate has in store for me." Hao Jiang said sadly. He was in no position to defend the incoming attack. The ogre raised its claw to deliver the finishing blow. Suddenly, a voice rang out.
"You want to touch Senior Hao? You will have to fight me first. See if you can be so arrogant then." Everyone looked up to see which arrogant youth said this and all were surprised when they saw Feng Yun. He was emitting a very superior power to previously and he had an air of confidence to him. The ogre turned around seemingly surprised. It looked at Feng Yun and was able to sense the familiar undulations that he emitted. It was the exact same as the plant that he was absorbing energy from. It became enraged and bellowed at Feng Yun. Feng Yun merely stood there with a smile of disdain on his face. If it was before, I might have been afraid, but now you aren't that tough, Feng Yun thought.
"Come at me Snow Demon Ogre. However, be prepared to face death when you provoke the King of Assassins."

Old description (Without spoiler) John Sarvod, user of the most powerful healing spell [Heal], the rare ability to heal and recover all injuries, is the only human that lives in the Elven Tribe. Though he was gifted with [Heal], he could not cast any magic other than his one and only [Heal]. Aside from his current training to become a royal scribe, he is known to all elves as the ‘Healer of A’vetheas’ and had gained a certain amount of respect from them due to how much he works. But life for him in the Elven Tribe, A’vetheas wasn't never always like this. Because he was human, and that the Elves have isolated themselves from the outside world, his presence initially was not welcomed by the elves that thinks highly of him today. It was all thanks to the Elven Queen who brought him in, and the Elven Princess, Raina Valindra Eridi, that he could reach this day. But things changed when the Raina that he so adored used the teleportation device for a small date with him, where they met with danger that the [Heal] that he relied all this time could not save him from… In his desperate attempts to save Raina, John ended up committing a taboo of the elves. As for his punishment when he returned to A’vetheas? That was just the beginning of him, continuing the path that he had inevitably taken prior to the life he had before he lived in A’vetheas. This is a story of a not too average person end up becoming something that he could have never imagined. A monster? A demon? A god? Only time will tell. It is just a matter of time that John Sarvod would embrace his true self. Content Warning because I want to have flexibility, and maybe it gets overwhelming at times. I have a backlog already, this story won't be dropped. Edited: romance tag to action tag, story has more or less of both, but yeah. There's slice of life tagged in because my story progresses not too quickly (by my opinion) I like to take things slow, I suppose. :3
