《Overlord Spirit Martial Emperor》Formal Discipleship

Hey guys, so the traveling arc has now officially ended and the training arc begins. However, the training arc won't be as large. Reason being is that after a certain amount of chapters, a pretty damn big time skip will happen. I've decided to go into more depth with the training arc, but not too much. Maybe ten chapters? Let me know what you think. Enjoy!

As Feng Yun and Dai Tian disappeared, leaving an astonished trail of people behind, another figure flew out from the academy grounds, his figure emanating a deep sense of power. The figure flying through the air had the appearance of a middle aged man, but it was clear that he was much older. He had short, gray hair and sharp eyes filled with wisdom. The man wore white robes, the traditional kind that all disciples of the Holy Continental Academy wore, but on the back of the robes, characters were inscribed. If one were to read the characters they would find out that this person was surprisingly...
The Headmaster of Holy Continental Academy!
This person was undoubtedly someone who could cause the entire continent to quake and tremble in respect, and his power was clearly at the higher levels of the Truth or Tyrant realm! However, on this man's slightly wrinkled face, was traces of anxiety, and even a hint of fear. As he was traveling outside the academy he quietly murmured to himself,
"That loud roar, it shook the entire academy! The person who yelled must surely have been an extremely powerful figure, yet for some reason...I feel familiarity with the voice. Now that I think of it, he sounds like him right? No no no, that's impossible. That guy's disappeared for a long time, he shouldn't be alive right? Haha, I must have heard wrong. I mean, if he's alive, he would've surely killed me right?" The man continued flying as he tried to assuage his fears through self coaxing.
When he finally reached the gates of the academy, the two elders staring at the sky, which was clearly empty, along with the children on the ground. They seemed like they had gazed upon a draconian devil slaughtering a large mass of people. Well, it wasn't that far from the truth. Though they were stunned, upon sensing the headmaster's presence, the two elders recovered from their earlier shock and looked towards the man in the sky, their expressions revealing utmost respect.
"We pay our respects to you, Headmaster Shen!" The two men bowed lightly. Shen Daoyi was much higher than them in terms of strength. It was said that in a "fortuitous" encounter, he was the one who had brought three Emperor level martial skills into the academy and had gained a lot of favor with the previous Headmaster, becoming apprenticed to him. Later, he grew in strength and became the new Headmaster. His legend was one of heroism and it was said that he had adventured through perilous ruins in order to obtain the three Emperor level skills. There were none on the continent who did not respect him.
Shen Daoyi lightly nodded to the two elders and gazed upon the area with confusion clear in his countenance. His voice came out deep and commanding as he asked the elders,
"Who was it? Who was the one who dared to yell so loud at the front gate of my Holy Continental Academy?!"
The two elders immediately bowed down and began to relay the information to Shen Daoyi carefully, not daring to miss a single detail.

"Sir, the intruder was an incredibly large three-tailed black snake that possessed an aura that made us two guards freeze. He was much too powerful!" Shen Daoyi's face changed the minute he heard 'three-tailed black snake'. After all, there was only one specific being in his mind that would correspond to this description.
"Please repeat that. You said it was a...'three-tailed black snake'? What words did he say exactly?" Shen Daoyi was getting increasingly anxious. The two elders looked at each other and replied,
"With respect sir, the words he said were, 'Shen Daoyi you bastard! One day I'll collect the things you stole from me'. Such impetuous words! He actually dares to accuse the Headmaster of such a shameful act! Something must be done about this person!"
"NO!" Shen Daoyi suddenly exclaimed at them. At this point, all his worst fears had come true. That person...was actually alive! Dai Tian was alive! The two elders were looking at him strangely and couldn't comprehend why he had shouted at them.
"I mean...there is no need to go against someone who is making baseless claims. Hmph, just because he is a little powerful he thinks that he can play with our strength?! An arrogant individual like that is best left to discover the meaning of modesty through his own losses! I won't waste my time with such an individual, but if he comes again, then I won't let him off."
Of course, this was just Shen Daoyi assuring the elders that he was not afraid and made up a huge lie in order to cover up his fear. Shen Daoyi was an incredibly accomplished person; why wouldn't the elders believe him? The elders both smiled and nodded their heads in admiration for Shen Daoyi saying,
"Headmaster truly has a great temperament. To have this much patience towards a weaker fly even when they insult you is certainly commendable." Shen Daoyi remained indifferent on the outside but on the inside, he was panicking...severely.
'Oh god, I need to pack my bags and leave. If that guy's alive, there's no telling when he'll come. That's it, I gotta get as far away from him as possible! Last time I was able to fight him to a standstill only because I had a bunch of protective talismans and he was injured! No way in hell am I fighting Dai Tian again!'
Meanwhile, Feng Yun and Dai Tian had traveled back to the Kaidu Mountains in a flash, completely traversing the distance in less than a couple minutes. The figure of an enormous snake appeared above the mountains and made even the Tyrant realm beasts that resided there bow down in respect. In their hearts, Dai Tian was like an Immortal King, who would forever rule with an iron fist until the end of his longevity.
Dai Tian descended from the air, carefully placing Feng Yun's body with the tip of his tail right before the palace gates that led into his home. Then, Dai Tian shrunk himself to a height of two meters and a length of three meters, which was small enough to fit into the palace. Some Tyrant realm cultivators who had reached a very profound stage could manipulate their appearance such that they could shrink or grow whenever they wanted to. However, there was always a size limit and the least you could shrink to was your original height and the largest you could grow to was the height of a small mountain. Dai Tian had been a Tyrant realm cultivator for a long time and thus, could easily control his size by will. Feng Yun stared as Dai Tian shrunk into a manageable size and followed him as he slithered into the palace.

The two did not speak a word, nor did they gaze at each other the entire time that they passed through the Black Death Palace. They were both as calm as a lake and as detached as a god. The golden Tyrant Artifact door that had previously rejected Feng Yun's presence now accepted him like he was a normal visitor. Dai Tian had registered Feng Yun's aura and appearance with the gate it seemed.
Soon, they reached the familiar throne room where Dai Tian slithered onto his comfortable mat. Bei Luo, the Great Devil Ape was seated right before the mat, his expression one of deep concentration and focus. His eyes were originally closed as he had been cultivating but when he sensed his master and new brother, he immediately opened his eyes and a happy smile broke out on his face.
"Master! Junior Apprentice Brother! You have both returned!" Dai Tian nodded and merely watched as Feng Yun sat himself before his master as well. Feng Yun was a little surprised to hear that Bei Luo was already calling him 'Junior Apprentice Brother' but then he merely smiled and greeted him back.
"I guess Brother Bei shall be my Senior Apprentice Brother from now on! I shall be in your care." Bei Luo's smile widened upon hearing those words. He wrapped Feng Yun in a brotherly embrace with his gigantic monkey arm, which made Feng Yun smile wryly despite his uncomfortable feeling.
"Haha, yes yes, I, your senior shall take very good care of you. Come to me if you need any help, alright?" Feng Yun felt a burst of warmth rising in his heart. Although he had only just met Bei Luo, the monkey had already caused him to have a favorable impression of him.
"Enough Bei Luo, let go of him." Dai Tian's low voice came out slightly soft as he lightly berated Bei Luo. The great ape suddenly reacted to his uncle's voice and released Feng Yun's body, embarrassment clear on his face.
"Boy, you shattered the talisman. Does that mean that you are now prepared to become my disciple?" Feng Yun's expression turned serious and he instinctively bowed down to Dai Tian saying with firm conviction,
"This one wishes to become Master's disciple!" Dai Tian's serious expression softened and he now revealed a slight smile at the young boy who had managed to garner his attention.
"Good. Your temperament and lack of arrogance is something that is truly admirable. However, I have been a bit rude to you, my disciple." Feng Yun looked up in confusion. What rudeness?
"I never asked for your name the first time I met you."
Feng Yun suddenly remembered the day that he met Dai Tian. It was indeed true that the serpent had never asked for his name at all. He had just jumped straight to the point that he wanted Feng Yun to become his disciple. However, Feng Yun had never thought of his temperament back then as rude at all.
"This disciple's name is Feng Yun. Master, your disciple does not think that you were rude by not asking for my name." Dai Tian showed a look of deep admiration through his serpentine face and a good impression was left on him of Feng Yun. Then, he remembered.
"Feng Yun? You're of the main family of the Cloudscale Sect?"
"Yes Master. I, Feng Yun, am the son of Feng Luo and Ling Qian, and the grandson of Sect Master Feng Lei." Dai Tian nodded his head in response to this but gave no sign of surprise. Despite understanding that this was a genuine Young Master before his eyes, he did not put much emphasis on Feng Yun's status. To Dai Tian, it was all about strength and nothing more.
"Hm, okay then. Are there any conditions that you want? As your Master, I will train you as best as I can." Feng Yun was about to reply 'no', but then realized that there was something.
"Senior, I made a promise with the friend I told you about that I would join her at the Holy Continental Academy in two years. However, it is not because I believe that the Holy Continental Academy is worth more than your teachings. It is only a matter of a promise. Would this be a problem?" Dai Tian sighed slightly when he heard this.
"No, it will not be a problem. Ordinarily, I would keep Bei Luo secluded here for a few hundred years before he is allowed to go out but you do not have that luxury do you?" Feng Yun nodded his head solemnly. "Fine then. After two years, you shall be allowed to go see your friend. A promise is one that should always be kept. I won't stop you from keeping it."
Feng Yun rejoiced in his heart about what a great master he had taken up. He knew that with his new master's strength and beliefs, his cultivation would increase significantly. A small bucket of cold water was poured on his head however, when he heard Dai Tian's next words.
"I will let you do all of this. However, you must work harder and undergo pain that most cultivators your age wouldn't even dream of going through. Your training will be harsh and you must be cold and ruthless whenever it is required." Feng Yun nodded his head despite knowing of the hardships he would be going through.
"The Emperor level skills I told you about in our last meeting aren't able to be used until you reach a very high stage in your cultivation. Grow first and then attempt them."
"I understand Master. There is no hardship I am not willing to endure to grow stronger."
"Hm, good. One more thing." Dai Tian paused for a moment to gaze at Feng Yun's face, particularly his fake blue eyes.
"What is it Master?"
"Take off your disguise."
Feng Yun sighed inwardly. He had half expected this to happen. His disguise wasn't exactly something that no one could not see through. People who had evolved to the higher realms could see through all manner of disguises. Feng Yun applied some Yuan Energy to his face, melting away the fake blue color, and revealing his golden and ruby colored pupils. Dai Tian and Bei Luo were taken aback by the sudden change and were deeply attracted by its beauty. The double pupils caused them to feel that Feng Yun was even more handsome and beautiful than he was before.
"Double pupils? This...this has never been seen before right Uncle?" Bei Luo was simply too shocked. Dai Tian nodded his head.
"There has never been a child who was born with golden and ruby pupils at the same time. Feng Yun, your lineage must stem from something very powerful, far beyond that of the Tyrant and Truth realms."
Feng Yun didn't understand. He thought that his golden pupil had come from the Golden Tyrant Thunder God Dragon's pure blood running in his veins. He didn't know about the blood red eye, but he had been sure that his golden eye was from a Tyrant realm beast. It seems that Dai Tian had identified it as something beyond that.
"Hoh? This snake...his intelligence isn't bad at all. He's already noticed that the boy's lineage isn't from this continent." Warden suddenly whispered in Feng Yun's mind. Feng Yun's eyes widened and he quickly replied, sending a mental message back to him.
"Warden, explain...now!"
"Sorry," Warden said. "Master's orders. Can't say nothing about it. Too bad, so sad. GOODBYE!"
Warden's voice disappeared as quickly as it had come. Feng Yun couldn't help but feel angry and the need to beat the damn demon looking freak to death was too large. Just as he was about to explode from rage at Warden the voice of Dai Tian interrupted his thoughts.
"Anyways, at this point of time, it does not matter what lineage you have. We shall begin your training tomorrow. Bei Luo, take Feng Yun to his room to rest." He then looked at his new disciple and an evil smile appeared that made Feng Yun shiver a bit. "He's going to need it."

Yeah sorry guys, I have just realized that I have maybe just dragged the story out a bit further. I know it's bad, but trust me, the real training starts the next day. To avoid being called a sadistic author, I will work my hardest to release it today. LOL. If I can't, oh well.

Dear Spellbook (Rewrite)
Live. Study. Repeat. Tal never saw himself as an adventurer, but the call to adventure never much cared for his opinion. Despite his best efforts, his search for answers on the murder of his parents ever draws him into danger. Accompanied by a group of seasoned warriors, thus far Tal has gotten by on his own meager magical talents, but when one day he wakes up to find himself back in his bed of the night before, he is faced with a challenge he must conquer alone. What to expect: This story was born of an attempt to create in world lore reasons for many of the mechanics and tropes of D&D, but you do not need to know of them to enjoy the story. It's a single POV time loop story with slow paced progression fantasy elements. The story is not one of fast-paced power ups and non-stop action, but as it progresses, the action picks up. There is a lot of magic system exploration on a system built to unify the diverse magic of D&D into one cohesive magic system. The setting is an original world with familiar races and monsters but with new unique origins and motivations. The average chapter will be 2-5k words long, most being around 3k but there are a few less than 1k, due to the nature of the story telling device I used. Book 1 is complete. Posting is on hold until I finish book 2. Book 2 progress: The rough draft is done at 141656 words as of 7/9/2022. I need to reread and edit it but Im aiming for resuming chapters in September.
