《Reborn as the Duke’s Daughter ~ The Goddesses are Ruining my Life!》Ch. 34 – Making Plans?! Pt. 1

All five people in the room sat cross legged, in a circle, on Maven’s bed. After Shayna and Fae learned Maven’s secrets and accepted her request for help, everyone felt the need to settle on a course of action. Thus marked the inaugural meeting of the ‘Let’s Save the World! Club', as named by Henna. Maven protested the name, but was forced to grudgingly accept it once Kannon and Shayna got on board. Fae sided with Maven as a matter of principle, but she also seemed to secretly like the name. Ultimately, the majority overrode her opinion. “Okay everyone, thanks for joining the…… Let’s Save the World! Club…… I wanted you to know that I really do appreciate you all, except for the disappointing goddesses. It honestly means the world to me. Since I’m currently just a child, I’m going to have to rely on all of you for help.” Maven bowed her head deeply toward Fae and Shayna with the most sincerity she could muster. “Please help me save this world. I want us all to live to a ripe old age. No apocalypse for us!” Shayna smiled with kindness in her eyes, “Of course, Young Miss. I’m not sure what exactly I can do to help, but I will support you with all my strength.” “Me! Me!” Fae said excitedly, hand raised in the air. “I’ll also help you with all my power! But…… what exactly did you have in mind? I heard, through the door, that the end goal is to protect the demon race and save our friend Henna here from disappearing… but how are we going to do that?” Maven scrunched up her nose in thought, pondering potential courses of actions. Earlier, she had resolved to stop being so passive and actually take the initiative, but she didn’t have any idea what to do. “Hmmmm, I’m not sure what exactly we should be doing. Kannon, Henna, you two are the ones who brought me here, don’t you have any clues?” Henna shook her head in denial, “I’m the goddess of the demons…… I’m not privy to the thoughts and circumstances points of humans, beyond what Kannon or the other gods share with me.” All those present turned their attention to Kannon, who had somehow ended up lost in her own little world in the mere span of a minute. Disappointing goddesses are disappointing, after all. Noticing the pointed gazes of those around her, Kannon jolted to attention - cold sweat beading on her brow. “S-So…… You guys wanted to know what we should be doing, right? The short answer is......... I don’t know!” At the irresponsible response, everyone’s eyes turned cold. Maven simply pouted in Kannon’s direction, Fae exuded a ghastly aura at the disrespect to her goddess, and Henna just laughed mischievously. Cheeks twitching in rage, the ever-loyal Shayna snatched the disappointing fairy in her hand. Kannon, perhaps sensing the punishment to come, chuckled nervously and tried to calm the maid down. “C-Calm down Shayna. What are you planning to - ” Shayna fearlessly shook the small figure back and forth savagely, determined to knock some sense into the frustrating goddess. “AAAHHHHH! S-S-Stoooooooooop!!” As Shayna mercilessly swung her around, Kannon’s rapidly changed in color. Her normal pinkish blush rapidly in color, to white, to blue, and finally to green. It was only after Kannon was right on the cusp of blowing chunks that Shayna eventually relented, tossing her back onto the bed - where she remained, collapsed powerlessly. Maven poked the white-eyed fairy softly, checking whether she was still alive or not. Luckily, Kannon managed to survive her ordeal with her life and dignity still intact. No goddess would be able to preserve her honor after vomiting at the hands of an nine-year old. Shayna spoke in a cold voice as her lady continued toying with the collapsed Kannon, “Are going to remain lazy forever, Kannon? I believe the Miss asked for suggestions. Stop playing around and help already!” Terrified at the thought of another go-round of the Shayna Express, Kannon desperately sputtered out, “I-I’ll help! I’ll help! Just, please, don’t spin me any more……” How pitiful…… A goddess, at the mercy of a nine year old maid…… Big sis, how terrifying…… Weren’t you supposed to worship her, Shayna? Almost in tears, Kannon stammered, “Even though I say that, I’m honestly not sure how to help.” Hearing this, Shayna raised a hand threateningly. “B-But I’ll tell you everything I know! Absolutely everything!” Smiling happily at Kannon’s compliance, Shayna withdrew.

I'm still writing the entirety of Volume 2. WARNINGS:-Yes, this contains LitRPG elements after a slow start, promise.-This work is incredibly Slice-of-Life heavy-Also conversation heavy-Also plot heavy (But not in that way, unfortunately)-The pacing in terms of plot is slow -(Edit after a review)- This story is also known as: I honestly don't understand what's the difference between "light" and "dark" stories. I realized that far too late, so this story is... weird. It might be light at times, and dark at times, and in all honesty, definitely has dark undertones. Oh, and prepare to be disappointed or pleased by this story; I understand that this story is polarizing, at least. Cover made by: Fei (@Chippy03966650) / Twitter
