The three cloaked individuals didn’t even flinch as the big snake-like creature eyed them like a piece of meat. They simply continued walking on, intending to reach their destination, wherever that was.

Seemingly angered by their ignorance, the big snake-like monster roared more loudly as if trying to warn them. But the three cloaked figure didn’t even bat an eye to its loud roar.

“This snake is very noisy!” one of the cloaked figures said without even looking at it.

“Just ignore it, it will go away in time,” another one of the cloaked figures said casually.

Finally, it couldn’t accept the ignorance of these humans and decided to attack. Opening its huge mouth, it sucked in the cold air. A huge whirlpool like air current formed as it entered its mouth.

Suddenly the suction stopped, gill-like protrusions opened up beside its head like wings of a dragon. Its red eyes burned as if on fire, glaring to the ignorant humans. Slowly it opened its mouth, and a white beam of condensed cold air flew towards the three cloaked people.

“It’s attacking us.” One of the cloaked person, who was on the extreme left commented.

“You should handle it.” The other two cloaked persons said and jumped away from the attack’s path, leaving behind the leftmost cloaked person to handle it.

“You guys!!” the leftmost cloaked person screamed, but nobody listened to him. At that time, the condensed beam landed on him from above.

Seeing its attack had succeeded, the snake-like creature had a gloating expression on its elongated face. It had already considered those three humans as dead. Suddenly a red beam flashed past it, pulling it away from its celebrating mood. Squinting its eye, its saw the human whom it considered dead was standing harmlessly. Not even his cloak was damaged.

As an intelligent being, the snakelike monster instantly knew it had attacked a superior being. Instantly it tried to run by going back from where it came.

“Don’t even think about it!” the lone man who was unharmed from the attack said calmly. He pointed his palm towards it. Suddenly the snake felt like it’s being pulled by something. The force was so great that, even, with its strength, it couldn’t resist it. The snake-like started to resist it by tossing and turning, but it had zero effect on the force.

Finally just as the snake was about to touch the man, the pulling force stopped. But the snake didn’t receive any relief because at that time it felt like its weight had doubled. Unfortunately, it was not the end, slowly the weight of it doubled again. It continued for some time until the snake could no longer move.

The force was so high that it couldn’t even roar. Suddenly spiderweb cracks appeared on the frozen ground where the snake-like had suppressed by the cloaked person.

Calmly lifting his hand, the cloaked person made a huge frozen iceblock float in the air. Then it began twisting and finally formed into the shape of a pointy staff like thing. The pointy iceblock floated towards the eye of the snake-like. With just a hand sign, the big pointy ice block fell on its eye, impaling through its head.

Red colour blood flowed from its wound, and within a few seconds, the enormous snake-alike died in agony.

“You took too long to kill this lousy thing. You are getting weak!” suddenly like ghosts, the other two cloaked individuals appeared from nowhere. One of them snidely remarked.

“Hmph! I was just playing with it.” The one who killed the snake-like creature said slowly.

“Let's go!” the third cloaked person suggested and the other two also followed behind. They abandoned the dead snake-like creature there as if its nothing but trash in their eyes. Its body would have sold for millions of golds in the market, but these people just abandoned it there.

They continued walking to god knows where.

“Is this the place?” the same three cloaked people now stood in front of a bid cave while holding an e-map in their hands. It was a special device that was derived from the GPS system used during earlier times. It gives an accurate satellite view of every location on the earth. It was used mainly by the hunters as they were in need to locate different dungeons that were far away from usual dwellings.

“Seems like it!” the other cloaked person said while touching the ground as if trying to feel something. Suddenly his hands glowed red as the ice near his palm started to melt at a rapid pace. Soon a star-shaped rune was revealed.

“Gotcha!” he screamed, attracting the attention of the other two.

“You two, move back” hearing his scream, the other two cloaked individuals instantly moved back.

His index finger then started to glow purple as he started drawing another pattern above the star pattern. When the pattern was finished, the star pattern and the newly drawn pattern, both started to glow. A shock wave emerged from the pattern and spread like ripples in the water, destroying a few ice blocks near it.

After that, a blue coloured cylindrical beam of light emerged from the pattern. Then it expanded and formed into a blue door.

“Let’s go!”

The three cloaked people entered the blue door, after that, it disappeared instantly.

Similar scenes appeared all over the north pole as these cloaked groups would enter into these blue doors. The places where they entered were the hidden dungeons. The location to these dungeons was still unknown to humanity.

Their purpose was still unknown at the moment.

Next day Kenshin went to see Core. He wanted to ask him about his sudden mood swings and his inability to control it. The answer he received had made him scared a little. Since his strength had increased suddenly due to the contract, his subconscious had lost control over his emotions. Due to the dual nature of magic, it roused all his inner feelings.

As his willpower was very low at the moment, his subconscious lost control over his emotions, allowing it to reign over his psyche. Losing control over one’s own strength was typical in this case.

As a solution, he advised Kenshin to meditate as much as possible and increase his willpower. By increasing his willpower, his subconscious will strengthen. By doing so, he would no longer have to worry about losing control again.

In fact, Core hadn’t said another thing to him. If the situation persists, then Kenshin would slowly develop a split persona roused by his magic and inner emotions. And, even, after that, if Kenshin still hadn’t increased his willpower then that persona would slowly take over the body, forever wiping out his original persona.

The real Kenshin would forever seize to exist.
