-Vol 4: To The North Pole!-
-To The North Pole-
Sitting inside a heavily armored helicopter, Kenshin tiredly looked outside. From his face, one could conclude that he had not slept well last night. It was indeed so.
In the middle of the night, Suguro called him and summoned him to his office. From his voice, Kenshin realized something bad might have happened. His suspicions proved correct when he reached there and heard about the situation in the north.
Even Kenshin with all the oddities around him couldn’t believe what he heard. After all, North Pole wasn’t a small area! But it was the truth, Suguro even showed him the satellite image of the outer area.
There was a huge wall made of ice surrounding the entirety of the north pole, separating the inner and outer area. Apart from that, there was a mist surrounding it, that disabled all electrical equipment. To have an areal view inside it was impossible.
As such, the head office of DCB and top guilds had decided to send top class hunters all over the world to scan out the place. North pole wasn’t a small place, a few hundred hunters won’t be enough. Besides, the guilds as well as DCB obviously won’t send their true elites. That’s why, hunters like Kenshin, who earned a name for themselves only recently were summoned.
Since it was a direct order from the top, Kenshin couldn’t ignore it. Besides, his strength had stagnated for quite a while. He needed to get his muscles running.
He needed a challenge.
Although clearing high tier dungeons would help, Kenshin didn’t try it because of what happened last time. Before he gets enough control over his power so that it couldn’t affect his mentality, he won’t fight in public.
That’s why, on the very same night, he left for the north pole. The north pole contains many small regions and most of it was a frozen ocean. The ice wall had completely surrounded the inner 100 sq kilometers of the area around the pole.

That night, Kenshin was sent to Russia by a DCB issued jet and then sent over to the temporary camp on the ground zero at the north pole.
There were total 4 big tents raised with each at least a km apart from the other. These tents belonged to DCB and three massive guilds.
The three massive guilds belong to three different regions, Shasha Guild which originated from the Russia itself, Tian Long guild belonged to China region and finally The Gilgamesh guild which comprised of all the Gulf countries.
Although all the guilds are superpowers in this region, there was a clear gap between them. The Shasha guild was strongest among the other three, even from the DCB. In comparison, DCB held the third place in the ranking, sandwiched between The Gilgamesh Guild and Tian Long guild.
Placing down the pad given by the headquarters which contained the above information, Kenshin looked outside. It was his first time coming outside his country, therefore he was slightly nervous. Besides, in this helicopter, there was only him and no one else. Due to bad weather, Kenshin’s takeoff was held off for another day. During this time, all the other members of the DCB head office were sent out to that place.
The helicopter finally reached its destination. It was a pure white tent that was as big as a two-storeyed building and as long enough to hold an airplane inside it.
[We have reached our location.]
The intercom buzzed, and the pilot notified Kenshin of their status. Nervously, he opened the helicopter's door and stepped out. A gust of cold wind flowed by him, giving him the chills. Right now he was wearing a pure black long coat with wolf fur collars. His hands were covered in pure black gloves, same for his legs, which was covered in black boots. He wore blue colored denim gins and white colored long-armed tees. His long coat was buttoned up, providing him the much-needed warmth. On his head, he was wearing a white colored cap that covered his head, up to his ears.

Two people, clearly from his country ran towards him and saluted respectfully.
“Welcome to Ground Zero’s DCB base, captain Muto.” One of the people said as he saluted.
To his welcome, Kenshin only nodded in response. After that, he was respectfully escorted inside the tent.
Inside the big tent, there were many small tents. All these small tents had small electronic plates in front of them, indicating their purposes. There was a ‘+’ sign in one of the plates, indicating that it was a hospital.
There was a weapon symbol in one of the plates, indicating its purpose as an armory. Similarly, dining and all the official area had similar plates. Kenshin was very surprised after seeing all this. It was as if he had come into a small town.
“Sir, this way!” the one who was escorting him called out, pulling him out of his reverie.
Nodding his head, Kenshin followed the man. After several twists and turns, they had finally appeared in front of a heavily guarded tent.
“This must be the office of the one in charge of this place” Kenshin wondered as he saw the tent.
The man who was escorting him whispered something in the ears of the two people outside, then one of them asked Kenshin to follow him.
Following him inside, Kenshin found himself in a room filled with all type of characters. None of them were weaker than others, they all had the aura of true Hunters. Without even using his system, Kenshin was sure that each and every one of them was stronger than him.
‘They must be the people sent by all the branches of DCB in the Asia region.’ Kenshin wondered as he scanned them with his eyes. After activating his system, all he could see are ??
It means their levels were more than ten levels above him.
It was not just him, others inside the room also did the same. They were all sitting in here for past half an hour, waiting for the field officer to arrive.
All these hunters belong to different countries, with some enemy of the other. While sitting in this place, so close to each other, the whole atmosphere was awkward. Nobody was saying anything to other, opting to glare instead.
At this sort of time, Kenshin entered the fray. He suddenly felt someone’s gaze landing on him. Moving his head, he found it belonged to a punk-dressed girl who wore earrings and black lipstick. Aside from that, her eyes were heterochromatic, giving off a unique vibe.
If one could ignore her unique dressing style, her looks could be very pleasing to the eye.
Her name was Natasha, a hunter from one of the branches of Russia.
When Kenshin looked at her, she smiled at him and showed him her fang-like teeth. *Shua* With a flash she showed her right fist towards Kenshin, then slowly opened her middle finger up.
She showed Kenshin the ‘Fuck You’ symbol.
‘Ah! What a unique and refreshing lady!’ Kenshin said to himself as he saw her actions.

Reborn Into My Novel
What if you lived in the world of your own creation? As fate would have it, our dear amateur novelist, Ellie, was reborn into the world of her fantasy novel after falling asleep at her computer. Bewildered as she was, the first person that she met was the protagonist of her novel. To add salt to the wound, it was right before the tragedy that decimated his village as per his backstory. Will Ellie save the village (and herself) to risk changing the fundamentals of her novel? Will she instead let the story run its course and leave everyone in the village to their deaths? Disclaimer: This novel is a work in progress and will be updated hopefully at least once a week. Expect minor mistakes (maybe some typos and punctuation errors) since this is the very first draft. The author suffers from perfectionism and impostor syndrome and therefore attempts to use this as sort of a therapy to break away from perfectionism and self doubt. Basically, the author employs a “I don’t care anymore and screw this trash work” mindset just to get stuff rolling and not set any expectations. Basically, basically, the author just wants to write something and not care about planning and quality and all those nice things about writing a GOOD novel since it’s counterproductive. Kthxbye. ps: Thanks for even reading this trash work pps: You’re not trash for reading this trash work btw ppps: Thanks I love y’all so much Shout out!
