Like Kenshin had foretold, the hunters did show up, but after the monsters caused a few casualties. Leena was struck in her office as she was a director and couldn’t leave it as she wishes, especially in this situation. Despite her repeated calling, the hunters didn’t appear until those monsters rampaged to some degree. It was as he had foretold, it was an excellent chance for them to show off and become someone great in public’s eye, how could they leave this chance? It was also one of many reasons why Kenshin requested not spread his name around during dungeon break case, although in the end, someone did leak it to the general populace. Leena couldn’t leave office as she was a director, there were many things that she had to do and couldn’t leave office according to her whim. Before Leena got aware fo the situation on a deeper level, the bloody wolves already attacked the nearest marketplace below Mt. Ojosan. But although there were no civilian casualties, a few military personnel died and even more were critically injured. It was then hunters appear out of thin air and surrounded those blood wolves and prepared to slaughter them. Seeing all this, Leena couldn’t help but stare dumbfoundedly at the screen.

“Can someone tell me what just happened?” seeing at the TV that live-telecasted the events in Mt. Ojosan, Leena yelled at the officials. Currently, a few hunters appeared out of some destroyed buildings and proceeded to slaughter the bloody wolves.

“Hunters spawned from an abandoned building!” an office lady answered her question with another question.

But the appearance of hunters didn’t stop there, pretty soon many more appeared and surrounded the bloody wolves.

“Aren’t these hunters on strike? How come they are here?” Leena asked in confusion. She had just asked for files about those hunters who were on strike, so she recognized a few of them. There was also a few magic skill users were mixed in the group as they slaughtered their way into the bloody wolves pack.

Pretty soon the wolves subjugation was complete, a few hunters were wounded, but none died. It was a sharp contrast to the military, where a few even died, let alone injured. At that time Kenshin’s words came to her mind, he had indeed told her about this. The hunters, they did appear and subjugate the monster but its only after they caused some damage to society.

‘Why? Why didn’t they appear before?’ Try as she might, despite how intelligent she was she couldn’t get the answer to this question. She couldn’t understand why these hunters didn’t appear before these wolves killed those military men? If they appeared a little sooner, wouldn’t these men would have still alive?

Now that the subjugation was complete, there was no more work left for her. Since there were no civilian casualties, she also didn’t have to answer anyone. The office workers got busy with various official matters, there was nothing left for a director like her to do, she could only retire for her office and then to her home.

With an expression that screamed someone just stole her money, she returned to her chamber. Upon entering she found a very, heartwarming but annoying to her eyes, scene. Kenshin, the man whom she suspected to be involved in her friend’s kidnapping, was sitting on the sofa while softly running his hands through Yuki’s hair. And Yuki, the person whose abduction happened, was resting with her head on the lap of the very man she suspected. This scene pushed all the wrong buttons in her heart, making her fume in anger.

“You both! Go, get a room and continue your lovi-dovi there. Don’t contaminate my room with this disgusting acts!!” unable to control her anger, she screamed loudly. That lopsided grin on Kenshin’s face also didn’t help at all.

“Oh! Coopa, you are back. So, how is the situation?” Yuki asked from her position of laying on Kenshin’s lap with her eyes closed. Both she and Kenshin spectacularly ignored her shout just now.

“It's alright. A few military casualties but the wolves were dead now. Hunters appeared in the last moment and killed them all.” Leena explained everything. To her, This matter was bizarre, not only the appearance of bloody wolves but also the hunter’s behaviour. While monsters did appear every now and then, they would never dare to go to public places…or more like it never happened. Then why today? Why did these monsters appear the very night when the hunters were on strike that too near that particular DCB? She really couldn’t make heads or tails of this matter.

“Thank god! Everything is okay now right? Can we go now? I have to go to the office tomorrow, I need to return to Mito. I am also very hungry.” Yuki requested. What she saying was also true, their date was already ruined. Now they could only eat dinner and retire for the night. Mito isn’t particularly near, so they have to do a few hours of travel after this.

“Thanks!” Yuki said and got up then along with Kenshin, they both walked away.

“Have a good night. And Ms Cooper, if you want to know why this happened, you should start investigating the matter of appearance of wolves.” After saying his peace, Kenshin also retreated and caught up with Yuki.

“What!?” it took a few minutes for Leena to register what Kenshin just told her. Her face instantly paled as she slowly tried to comprehend the situation.

“Sorry, Yuki! I promised to take you out for a good time, but this happened.” Kenshin apologized as he caught up with her.

“No, Kenshin. It should be me who must apologize. It was because of my enemies that you have to fight with that kind of people.”

“What are you talking about? It was a man’s duty to protect his loved ones. I just did my job, you don’t have to apologize.”

‘Loved ones!’ Yuki’s face turned red instantly, and she started to feel shy suddenly.
