It took quite a while for Yuki to get it through her head that all those zeroes were actually real and Kenshin wasn’t deceiving her. But she had another question in her heart, from where did he get this much money? One million USD isn’t something that could be earned overnight. Moreover, even for a powerful hunter of gold rank, it would still take three to four years before he could make that much money. Then how did Kenshin got this much money? But she was afraid of asking it, thinking that it would hurt his feelings. She was also more afraid of him being swindled by someone else with money and later forced to do some less than satisfactory works. So gritting her teeth, she decided to bite the bullet and ask it away.

“Kenshin, can I ask you a question?” she carefully chose her words to not make him awkward. She only wanted to find the source of this money, if it were from something shady, she would make him return the money from where he got it.

“So it's like that.” relief could be seen on her face when she finally understood the source. She was no longer concern herself with it, if the money weren’t from some shady source, she wouldn’t care how much he made or to whom he sold.

“That’s why don’t choose the cheap ones and choose whatever you like. Today, leave everything to me.”

“Okay! Don’t blame later if the bill makes a dent in your pocket.” Yuki smiled and instantly chose two dishes from the list which was neither cheap nor expensive. They were all French dishes and a bottle of expensive wine.

During the meal, they both talked about many things, especially about Yuki’s past three years. Kenshin was very curious about those events. He wanted to know how Yuki climbed the ladder of success and finally reached the position where she was now. It was always her dream to work on a hunter related profession, and now she got herself the highest post she could manage, that too in only two years.

Yuki, in turn, asked Kenshin about various adventures he had and about his sudden rise to power.

“Kenshin, I forgot to ask you about Mr Goro and others. What happened to them? Where are they now?” she was very curious about Kenshin’s old party members. She had met them quite a few times and found them very funny and talkative. Although they looked like brutes and rude individuals, they all had warm hearts. It was also them who taught Kenshin about all the ins and outs about being a hunter.

Instantly Kenshin’s face changed as he showed an anguished expression. His hands trembled a little, and his body shook as if he just remembered something nightmarish. Yuki instantly understood what this meant, and her face also changed to that of a sad one. She placed her left hand over Kenshin’s right fist.

“I am sorry. I am really sorry. I didn’t know they…” but she stopped there, unable to find any word to express herself. Although she had interacted with them a few times, she wasn’t that close with them, so she only felt sad.

“No. its okay. Mr Goro and others got ambushed in the dungeon and lost their lives there. They sacrificed their lives to protect my retreat…that day…” towards the end his voice broke as if he was about to cry. Yuki squeezed his hand as she tried to comfort him, then she tried to change the subject by asking him about Akari and others.

It also successfully distracted him, after that Kenshin passionately praised his sister, to the point that Yuki’s teeth began to ache. She mumbled something that suspiciously sounded like ‘You still the same siscon as before.’ Finally, towards the end of their dinner date, the waitress came with the bill. But Kenshin didn’t bother to look at it and started to shuffle inside his pocket and brought out a shiny card, then handed it over to the waitress.

At that time, finally, another emotion showed on that waitress’s face except that ever smiling one, its shock. It was a unique card that she had never seen before, but her professional eyes easily deduced it as the original. No one fake that special stamp and chip issued by the bank after all. The waitress had seen many kinds of cards in her life, from standard credit cards to gold and platinum card, but it was her first time seeing such a unique card. And when she inserted it into her machine, it didn’t show anything. Every detail except the bank’s name had ‘***’ this symbol. Generally, when a card was inserted, it would at least show the card holder’s name, but with this card everything was private. It frankly shook her to some degree, but she recovered instantly and asked for the pin.

Kenshin slapped a few numbers in the machine and retrieved his card. A few seconds later, his phone vibrated, signalling his money being deducted. After that they both came out of the restaurant hand in hand, the whole time Yuki was silently observing him. A proud glim would come over her eyes every now and then as if it was her achievement that Kenshin was like this. To girls, it was always a very happy feeling when the person they love didn’t lose to anyone. Thye always wanted for their love to stand above everyone else, it was especially the case for Yuki who had seen Kenshin when he was at his lowest.

Seeing Kenshin act so domineering, it filled her heart with some incomprehensible feelings. Though happiness was the majority of it.

When they left the restaurant, its already 10 pm. Yuki looked very anxious, she had to go office the next day and the time for the last train to Mito had already passed. Seeing her this anxious, Kenshin smiled.

“Why are you worrying? We will reach there in a flash, don’t worry.” After saying so, Kenshin lead her to a quiet park void of any people. Besides, it's already this late, except for some young couples who were having their tryst, nobody would be here this late.

“Kenshin! where are we?” Yuki was also becoming nervous when she appeared at this place.

“Shh! Don’t speak! Just close your eyes and no matter what don’t open them until I say so. Also don’t shout okay!”

“What are you going to do?” Yuki sounded very nervous.

“Don’t shout. I am going to take us to Mito. It will take a few minutes, so just close your eyes and mouth, okay!”

In fact, Kenshin was more nervous than her. Last time with Vera, he didn’t have any nervousness because she was a powerful hunter, but Yuki was just a normal person. He was afraid that some accident would occur.
