-Vol 5: A New Life-
-An argument with ignored logic(2)-
Not only the man, but even Yuki was surprised when she heard about Kenshin’s outburst. She knew about his past, she knew why this man’s words touched his sore spot, but even she didn't expect for him to behave this way. She always had the impression that no matter what happens, Kenshin could always maintain his cool...but today she was proven otherwise.
But this didn't make her disappointed, on the contrary, she was somewhat glad after seeing this side of him. She was glad that Kenshin could also exhibit some human-like emotions. He hadn't even shown such intense reaction when she was kidnapped that night. This made her grumpy all of a sudden. But, Yuki was unknown to this fact that it was because Kenshin had everything under his control that night. If not, even if he were millions of time stronger, he wouldn't have been that calm and collected.
Of course, the man didn't share her sentiments. He felt even more insulted at this supposed peasant’s talkbacks. A vain on his forehead throbbed due to his high blood pressure, banging on the table, he stood up glaring at Kenshin. The table turned into splinters due to the power behind that bang, a testament to the power he holds, despite Kenshin deemed him to be weak.
“How dare you talk to me like that? Do you know who I am?” the man whose name Kenshin didn't know and also didn't have any interest to know, exploded with all his strength. He didn't have a magic skill, but the skill he possesses makes him a very good martial artist. A red aura surrounded his eyes, as if they were burning on fire. Kenshin was a little surprised at seeing such a skill but snorted soon after. This so-called skill did nothing but make this man see through his opponent's movement patterns, although it sounded cool, in reality, it was somewhat of a useless skill.

For one, the skill needs to remain active for a period of time until the user collects enough data about their opponent. After that only they can use the skill to predict the opponent’s moves based on subtle muscle flexes.
But why such a skill useless? Because, except for this supposed predictive power, the skill didn't make the user faster or stronger. It also didn't work on them whose reflexes were too fast for the user to see, it didn't increase the user’s sensory perception after all. Besides, who in their right mind would show their moves to someone? They would surely try to kill them as soon as possible. Kenshin doubted this man’s ability to remain alive until his skill completes its data collection phase.
Kenshin didn't bother to give him a reply, he just looked at him in the eye and subtlely activated his [King’s Presence].
[Ding* King’s Presence activated]
[WIL deducted]
[Warning* Mindful of over usage. It will have harmful impacts on the psychology of the user once depleted.]
The man who wad just about unleash his full strength on this rude peasant and teach him a lesson or two about not talking back to his superiors, suddenly felt something wrong. The air around him started to distort as if it was a piece of the curtain that was being pulled by someone.
“What the?” he was very surprised to see this. He tried to turn his neck around, but as if something was constricting it, he couldn't. He also found that he was unable to move at all, not even a single muscle on his body was budging. He felt dread creeping up at him, at the same time, he felt an unusual desire, a force in his heart that was compelling him to kneel down. Its as if he wasn't worthy to stand at all. He tried to scream for help, but no voice came out of his mouth.

On his periphery, he could see the images of Yuki and her assistant melting back to nothingness, leaving behind only the distorting space. It’s only after that he noticed he wasn’t alone. In front of him was still sitting the peasant whom he was just about to attack. But unlike Yuki, he wasn't fading to nothingness, the distorting space did nothing to him, and he was still staring at him.
Then suddenly the pressure on him increased by several folds, and he hallucinated about seeing a golden crown floating above the peasant. A golden light shined from it and flashed towards him. Unable to control his body, the man could only close his eyes and brace for the inevitable to happen. But after a few seconds passed, feeling nothing happening to him, he tentatively opened his eyes and saw that he was back in reality. He was still staring at peasant with his clenched fist. To his right, Yuki was sitting straight and staring at him angrily, the same could be said for her secretary as well. The table was also reduced to nothing, the only change was he was sweating profusely, enough to drench the shirt he was wearing below the blazer.
It didn’t take a genius to figure out what just happened, the peasant, he definitely did something to make him hallucinate all those things. But they all seemed so real, especially that pressure he felt. He could still feel the soreness in his shoulders as an aftereffect of enduring heavy pressure. Unable to control his weight, his legs gave in, and he fell back to his seat like a puppet with its strings severed. He also felt unusually tired, as if he just had a long fight with a particularly powerful monster.
To the side, Yuki and her assistant looked at the spectacle with their eyes widened like a dinner plate. Even the ever cold and calculative assistant of her couldn’t keep her, the situation was that weird. Just a moment ago this annoying man was about to strike the other, but then suddenly something happened he started to sweat like a pig before falling down to his seat. What the hell was going on inside that man’s head? Is he performing or a skit or…the lady looked at Kenshin with some suspicion. He wasn’t responsible, right?
But unlike her skeptical assistant, Yuki knew and believed that it was the work of Kenshin. She had already seen him in action and knew how strong he was, she was also aware that he had some of the weirdest of the skills around. It might be possible for him to have the skill to make others scared of him.
Yuki nodded to herself discreetly. She liked this side of Kenshin, so dominating! Just a look and his opponent was crumpled on the floor like a discarded piece of tissue paper. Somehow, the more Kenshin grows strong, the more she felt she was falling in love with him. She had a kink that she never revealed to Kenshin, she had a bit of masochistic streak. It wasn’t that extreme like seeking pleasure from pain or something like that. She always fantasized about getting scolded by Kenshin or being told to what to do…she even fantasized about him ordering her around in their bedroom…those are some of her intense wet dreams.
Every time she remembered these dreams, she would feel embarrassed for the whole day.

Extermination Order
So it turns out that anime got something right: If you get hit by a truck, you're going to another world. Dennis became subject to that unknown quirk of reality when crossing a busy city street (despite having looked both ways). But that was quite some years ago. He's been around this new world 'Nassur' a time or two and knows how to live a good life. He also knows that adventuring friggin sucks. So, what is a man to do in a fantasy world with a shoddy leveling system that constantly suggests getting more XP, and a condition set by the gods that you must make the world a better place? Pest extermination. But reality is often fickle. Perhaps one day it is only rats, another, mechanical centipedes with lasers. Maybe the Dark Lord needs a shoulder to cry on because his dungeon simply can't be ready in time for the adventurers he likes to do battle against. Another poor soul from Earth could appear just as dazed and confused as the day you'd first arrived, requiring a good long talk about 'hey, what the hell is this, man'. And maybe... just maybe, that thick book of owed favors comes back to haunt you. For a man who desires a peaceful, productive life, Dennis can find it rather difficult for a week to go by where something doesn't go awry. This series originally started on r/HFY, [Link] but I decided to post it here since people are so positive about it! Posting rate is, and likely will continue to be, rather inconsistent. As he tries desperately to find power in a world determined to rob him of it, his cousin Rhiann plots to find freedom through more extreme and destructive means. The job that was supposed to just be about money quickly spirals into a fierce loyalty, one that leads him to the front lines in order to desperately prevent another war from beginning.
