-Meeting Isabella again-

After paying for the taxi, Kenshin entered the building. No one stopped him as all the people from here were already aware of Kenshin’s identity. Even if they were not, today they were specifically ordered to allow every hunter that enters the premises. Since DCB organized this free for all mission, from morning till now, more than a hundred hunters already appeared and tried to apply for it. Though half of them returned when they heard that it was against the sea monsters.

“Sir, this way.” A soldier who recognized him from yesterday came forward and lead him to a conference chamber.

“Am I late?” Kenshin asked.

“No. the conference and briefing just ended. The office will prepare a bus for everyone to travel our destination.” The soldier politely explained.

“Is that so.” Kenshin nodded and walked silently.

“Here, sir. Please wait here until the bus arrives. We will call you.” The soldier once again did a military salute and walked away. Putting his hand in his pocket, Kenshin entered the conference room, more than fifty people looked at him with varying emotions. Coincidentally the door to the room was located to the side of the front stage, so he became center of attention in an instant.

From an old man, age 49 to young men between 18 to 19, there were all types of people gathered here. Some held staffs, some swords, some bows, some katanas, some tantos…there were many traditional Japanese weapons could be seen. He even saw a few people holding nunchucks and a pair of scissors. “How would I know? Since DCB has announced it to be a free for all event, I think he has also come here try his luck…” another man about the same age as him standing near grumbled before turning away and calmly sitting on his chair. His level is also 44.

As everyone showed varied emotions, Kenshin also scanned many of them. Among them the higher he saw was the lady who just defended him, her level was 88. When he checked out the lady’s stats, he couldn’t help but be surprised, ‘Never knew there was a lady like that in our Mito?’. After a further check, he discovered she was an actually a magic skill user, and her skill was related to long-range strikes, that’s why she had chosen a bow. Her name was Utsumi. Kenshin, for the sake of safety, marked her with a flag.

It's not that he suspects her, its just that he wanted to be on the safe side. Who knows when a person had some alter motives. Besides a lady like that without any affiliation, Kenshin thought it didn’t add up at all. You can never be too careful in this day and age after all.

“Hello!” just when he was about to continue his observation, a timid voice came from his behind. Kenshin couldn’t help but find that voice to be oddly familiar. Turning around, he came face to face with the girl he met in the park yesterday. Today she was dressed battle ready with red armor and a matching color hand guard. She also had a red leg guard. Kenshin suspected that it might be set equipment.

Set equipment generally had better effects than normal ones. In some cases, if you wear the full set, you might be able to use skill unique only to the equipment. But considering the drop rates of this type of equipment, its price was sky high. A million gold might not be enough for such equipment if it’s a ranked one. For this girl to have this equipment, her family might not be a normal one it seems.

‘This! What the hell? She is way beyond level 100! Is she really who she claims to be?’ Kenshin felt like he was struck by thunder. This girl who seemed naïve and ditzy unexpectedly had such fearsome stats. And she also had it all hidden? Why? I can understand about skill, but why physical stats too, who can judge someone’s physical stats just by looking? Not everyone had a system like him.

‘What is going on here? Or am I overthinking this? But still, I can’t shake the feeling that I should be careful of her. It's my instict…they are tingling. It’s the same as that day too…’ Kenshin though as he started to seriously pay attention to this lady. It's also the same as that day, for some reason, he felt a sense of restless and uneasiness whenever she was around. It came from his soul, his very instinct.

He couldn’t just tell her that his sixth sense tingled and he scanned her, at the same time he was suppressing his surprise to not make the girl notice something weird.

“Instinct, you say! Wow! So cool! You have such sharp instinct! Please teach me how to have’em.” Isabella widened her eyes as stars shined in them. Her expression was akin to a child who just saw the toy she wanted. Seeing her like that, Kenshin nearly fooled again and was about forget everything about suspecting her. But, although his heart told that she was not an enemy, his instincts told otherwise.

With the increase in PHY, ethereal things like [Instincts], [Danger Perception], [Sensory Pereception] that can help him to survive also increased and became powerful. Although they don’t have any tangible effect on the body like ATK or DEF, they can come in handy during unexpected situations.
