《Quicksword Bob》Chapter 16 - Interruptions

A week went by in a flash, during this week Bob learned that Vile Island was a three day's journey by ship. So he made sure to stock up on a ton of food for at least a month.
The Greybeards pirate ship was fixed and a room was added to it. The sails were changed out, if Bob kept them people would assume he was a pirate. Instead of white or black sails, Bob decided to use a different color. He had his sails custom made into blue.
Bob was standing at the bow as he looked out at the sea.
"Bob, everything is all set. We can sail whenever you're ready."
Jacob said to Bob.
"Then set sail! Destination Vile Island!"
"Alright captain."
Jacob rushed back and started yelling at his brothers to set sail.
On the ship was Bob, Jacob, Jacob's 4 brothers, Ash, Ron, John and the five newly made bounty hunters.
Dave stayed behind as he had to watch over the construction of the base to make sure everything was going smoothly. Bob handed him a den-den mushi and told him if anything happened to contact him.
Bob also left 30 million with Dave, to use to hire more people as well as put the rest in the vault when the base was done.
Bob was thinking about creating a bank in the near future, to loan out some cash to those who qualified. Then he'd be able to collect interest. However, he couldn't do that yet, he needed to finish his organization.
Bob currently had around 125 million beli's to his name. He was tempted to just use it all for another piece of equipment, but held back. He told himself if there were pirates on Vile island he could turn in for money, then he'd use this money for himself.
Afterall, his goal was to save Ace and he doubted he'd be able to do that if he didn't have high stats.
The first day out on sea was easy sailing.
Ash cooked the food and no one had any complaints.
Bob also started practicing his haki, or at least trying to. He told Ron, Dave and John what it was, as well as how there were different types. He wasn't sure what type they could activate, but he said if they managed to acquire one they'd be fine in the future as long as they kept up their skills.

Bob told them about conqueror's haki and said that only a few people in the world was capable of such a thing.
When they learned of such a thing all three of them were eager to learn haki. Dave wanted to focus on observation haki, while Ron said he'd rather have armament haki.
As for John, he wanted to learn conqueror's haki so he was going to focus on both observation and armament haki.
John sparred with Bob a few times a day, once in the morning and once at night. He's been doing this everyday since they first sparred. John lost every time, but Bob could see that he was making some small improvements in his sword style.
Bob started to wonder how far those three progressed in their haki. He himself had no clue how to even get started! He just told them they could try to gain observation haki if they closed their eyes and were able to sense their surroundings. The best way to train that would be to have someone throw something at you and you try to dodge it with your eyes closed. Or hang up sandbags, push it and let it swing back and forth. You just close your eyes and try to dodge it.
As for armament haki, Bob said it was like an invisible armor that was created by a person will. He also stated that as long as they learned this there would be no reason to fear logia type devil fruit users. Bob didn't really have a way to help them train this, as he said he himself did not have a real method. The best way to do it is to meditate and try to use the energy inside your body to create an armor around your hand.
Naturally Bob wasn't even sure if that was the correct method, but it was the only thing he had.
It's been two weeks since he told them that, and he never really asked about their progress.
Bob did have time to practice his haki before, but he did not want to do it at Blacktown. He figured once he started someone was bound to come and interrupt him. Therefore now that he was at sea he figured this would be a good time to start

On the second day while Bob was training trying to activate his haki, someone came into his room.
"Hey captain, we have a problem."
Bob opened his eyes, he was pretty annoyed. Just when he thought he wouldn't be interrupted out at sea because there was less people. It happened to him!
"What's the problem?"
"There's a giant sea monster ahead of us, it's blocking our path. If we go around it, it might take us some extra time to reach the island. However, if we go straight we'll need to kill it or move it out the way."
Bob sighed.
"Keep straight, i'll take care of it."
"Alright then."
After the man left Bob sighed once more. He started mumbling some words under his breath as he got up from his seated position.
When Bob appeared on the deck he saw the sea monster. It was indeed a problem, it was a large serpent.
Bob walked to the bow of the ship and held on to the rail. He started yelling at the giant beast.
"Move it! You're in my way!"
The monster seemed to ignore him as it did not move at all.
"I'm telling you, if you do not move i'm going to cut you up into chopped liver!"
A minute passed by and the beast still did not move.
"Alright, I warned you."
Bob said angrily.
He looked at Jacob and told him to continue on. Once they were in range, Bob would take care of it.
A few minutes later Bob felt they were in range, he drew Black Death and first he activated Radiant Illusion. A white portal opened up and out came a clone of Bob, it quickly slashed the serpent.
With its resistances weakened, Bob activated Spellblade. A white fire covered his sword and he started swinging his blade. Each swing faster than the last.
Crescent arcs flew from the blade and laded on the serpent. The damage might have been small at first, but the damage just continue to stack. Eventually the beast wailed out in pain and went under the water.
Bob was surprised, he only caused a wound to appear on the serpent, he couldn't even kill it! How thick was that things skin?
Bob was actually excited, he wanted to duel with the beast but it ran away.
Because of the thick skin of that beast Bob thought about his build. It was centered around attack speed and damage, but if his opponent had more defense then it'd be pointless. Granted his attacks would build up damage overtime, but Bob didn't want that.
He might not be able to one shot people, but he wanted to be close to being that powerful.
He thought about changing out one of his items for one that weakened his opponents defense. Except the cost of one of those items would mean he'd need to have 300 million beli. That's how expensive one item that ignored the defense or caused his opponents defense to weak was.
Right now he only had a little under 3000 points to his name, the next item on his list cost him 45,000 points. That meant Bob would need 420 million beli if he wanted to buy it.
He sighed, he was so poor right now. He really hoped there were more pirates on Vile Island he could turn in.
**********************************************
Hello, author here! I'm giving you a chance to come up with Bob's next weapon. It can't be anything too powerful, it can be armor, a weapon, boots, earrings etc.
[Item Name]
[Item Stats]
[Unique Passive]
If the item has attack stats it can't pass 80 points.
If the item has attack speed, it can't pass 50%.
The item cannot have both 80 damage and 50% attack speed.
If the item has stats such as HP, it can't go past 500.
If the item has stats such as Armor or Magic Resistance, it can't go past 40.
Health regen is also possible, maximum is 100% regen.
The item cannot have all of those, unless the stats of each are low. Ex. 30 AD, 10% attack speed, 100 Hp, 25% HP regen.
Unique Passive is something you decide, it can be anything really. Such as every 100 hits you're guaranteed a critical strike etc.
