《Quicksword Bob》Chapter 65 - Capture him

Hildon had a bottle of some sort of purple liquid in his hands. He grabbed a glass and poured the liquid in the glass. Looking around at everyone in the carriage he held the bottle of liquid high.
"Where are my manners, would any of you like some?"
"We are fine, just keep us on track."
Bob said.
Hildon nodded his head and put the bottle away.
Luna and Tiffany were looking out of the window of the carriage.
"Why are there so many strange creatures?"
"Look at the ugly lion! It's grinning at me, ew!"
"Hey, see if you can shoot it from here."
"No way! What if it comes to haunt me later on, you kill it."
These girls had a different reaction that Nami, Usopp and Chopper did when they saw those creatures. Bob could still remember the scene of them screaming.
After travelling with Hildon for a while those three were also stuck in the middle of the graveyard. Hildon left them there, and they ended up at the mansion where Dr. Hogback was.
"If you don't mind me asking, what do you want to see Gecko Moria for?"
Hildon asked Bob as he was curious.
"I have my reasons."
Hildon wasn't fooling anyone, he'd find out why Bob was here and try to escape to tell Gecko Moria. Bob was already a step ahead of him.
Hildon was putting up a good facade, he never dropped the act even when Bob wasn't giving him any information. Instead Hildon turned his attention to the other members of Bob's crew.
Hassan ignored him completely, Luna and Tiffany were still discussing the strange creatures in the forest. Sasha was glaring at Hildon in an odd way.
The only one who decided to talk to Hildon was Dalton.

The things Dalton talked about were not even related to why they were here. Instead it was about the pink fog here on Thriller Bark.
After a while the carriage stopped in front of a gothic-style cathedral.
Hildon opened the door to the carriage and got out.
"Here we are, the mansion."
Bob glared at Hildon.
"I told you to take me to Moria, not Hogback."
Hildon was startled and jumped back.
"This is where Moria is!"
Hildon shouted.
Bob shook his head.
"Whatever, there's something that needs to be done here anyways."
Bob looked at his crew members.
"You guys get off here, this is where Hogback lives as well as some other people. You guys capture Dr. Hogback for me, i'll meet you back here later."
"How does he look?"
"He's a round man with short limbs. You'll see him."
Bob recalled something.
"Watch out for a woman with pink hair. She'll drain you of morale and she's able to conjure ghost."
"You hear that Hasssan, there's a woman here. Maybe she'll give you a kiss."
"Shut up!"
Bob imagined that this would be a challenge for his crew, but he had hope they'd find a way to win.
They've been growing stronger, but they weren't that strong as of yet. Still needed to face more challenges.
"Don't kill her either!"
Bob shouted to them before they got too far away.
Perona was a weird one, but she wasn't actually a bad person like the others here on Thriller Bark.
Bob saw Hildon trying to tiptoe away but glared at him.
"Come back, take me to the tower. I don't feel like walking."
Hildon turned back to Bob and smiled.
"Of course."
He was really spouting curses at Bob in his head. Why did Bob know so much about this place?

After riding with Hildon to the tower Bob got off and walked inside. He wasn't walking too fast, but he could tell he was being followed.
Hildon wasn't the one following him, instead it was someone else.
He was trying to hide his footsteps but he wasn't doing that great of a job, not to mention he smelled funny. As Bob stepped foot inside the tower, he stopped and looked in a direction.
"Why don't you come out from hiding?"
No one replied and no one appeared. Bob put his hand on Black Death.
"Suit yourself."
He said as he swung Black Death. Bob felt a Black Death go through something.
A figure emerged after Bob swung Black Death. The figure was split in two halves, top and bottom.
It was a man wearing an ankle-length coat with a high collar. He had long blond hair but his face was a mix of human and lion.
This man was Absalom, who probably assumed his devil fruit would give him an advantage. For him it was of no use as Bob had heightened senses, he didn't need to see Absalom to know where he was.
"Should have just came out man, you might have lived."
Bob said as he shook his head and put Black Death away. He continued to walk until he was in the middle of a large room. There was no furniture of the sorts in this room, the only one here was an abnormally large man with devil like features. There were two horns protruding from his forehead and he had stitches running down vertically from his face to his neck.
"Who are you and how did you get here?"
The large man asked as he stared at Bob.
Bob was almost like an ant compared to this man, he lad to look up at him.
"You can call me Bob."
"Quicksword Bob? I've heard about you, what can I do for you?"
"You can give me your spot as a warlord for starters."
Moria began to laugh hearing Bob's request.

Entangled Fates Book 1 - Quantum Beginnings
“By far, the greatest danger of Artificial Intelligence is that people conclude too early that they understand it.” —Eliezer Yudkowsky Hey all, we're moving over to book 2. This content is in a state of transition. The book is now availble on Amazon (includes extra chapters): https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B07W1534R8 Artificial intelligence was nearly mankind’s last invention. AI took off like a rocket, then when it racked up an impressive death toll, it crashed before it could blossom and took most high-tech industries with it. Resistance and fears became deep-set. Two decades after the infamous Rev. 4.6 incidents, humanity hasn’t quit dreaming of the wealth and power that could be at their fingertips. A new generation of mega-corporations rose from the ashes. When one melds a quantum computer to a barely functional mental patient as a PR move, there are those who seek to profit, those who want to destroy it, and Alex. Alex Sage is a typical college student trying to keep up his grades and maybe find a meaningful connection with the fairer sex. Then, an automated semi crashes into his home, killing his family and turning his head into a pin cushion in the process. Alex awakens to find most of his memories gone and an illegal AI hidden in his brain implant. Now the pet project of a tech billionaire and heavily in debt, Alex struggles to stay valuable enough to be kept online. Still grappling with the repercussions of his injuries, and threats from a dangerous anti-augmentation political movement, there are no easy answers and threats loom around every corner. Alex must use whatever resources he can to escape from under the thumb of a ruthless corporation, while keeping those he comes to love safe. Chapters will stay up on RRL until Aug 10. It'll go up on Kindle Unlimited after that. How do you get those extra chapters I didn't have planned for RR? If you want them, they'll be in the published book. Book 2 will still make sense without them - I made sure of that. But... isn't $3 a lot for extra chapters? Think of it as tipping me for a good job and you'd also be getting my eternal thanks. If you enjoyed it so much that the idea of missing out a few chapters haunts you, I did my job as an author and made an engaging story. What's in those extra chapters? Resolving a few issues, set up for the cybernetic revolution, a rather intense sex scene with a new partner, revelations of who's really pulling strings, and a bit of set up for book 2. Complaints that people missed out on it when it was published here won't help (sorry!). I posted this for the folks who helped me shape the book, which is you all! (Again, yay!) But... Why! Why not keep it all on RR forever? My editor likes being paid for one. For two, I'd like the ability to get broader readership. If I break even on editor costs, I'll be incredibly happy. What about book 2? Drafts for Book 2 will go up around Sept 10. My draft of Book 2 is done, and it will be handed to the editor once Book 1 is published. Feedback has been even more positive. Beta readers devoured it and wanted more. I'll add a link to Book 2 once it's up on RR. I'm more or less, using you all for Beta Readers, so you get it before it's "canon" and edited. I invite active and meaningful feedback during this process. In return, you get early access to chapters. That does mean that the book content or plot might be adjusted before it gets published as I refine it. Sex Y/N? Yes. I heard the feedback, 90% wanted it explicit. You all will get the "full" experience. Will I dump all of book 2 here? Honestly, I'm not sure yet. At a minimum, it'll be up to the 75% mark as we collect feedback, much like what I did with book 1. It really depends on how good the feedback is and how nice people are. Lots of support + meaningful feedback to make it better = higher likelihood you get all the book. Will be it up here indefinitely? No, it'll probably go up on KU at some point, but I'll make sure there's enough time for a large readership to grab it here. Then we move to book 3 which already is around 60K words already. What about other adventures in the same universe/characters? Yep. Absolutely. Nothing ready to share yet though. I plan to keep those side chapters and more slice of life stories as RR exclusive. Since I'm carving this off in book-sized segments, I'll have to figure out where those disconnected story arcs belong. I'm open to suggestions.

I have so much planned for this that it should be fun and entertaining for readers who enjoy the LitRPG genre as much as I do. Please join me as I recount the tale of a man who becomes a legend — both in-game and out of it. I plan to attempt a weekly update schedule. Upload Sunday evening(for me). Warning! This story will involve some amount of cussing to help add some realism and some insinuated sex that will fade to black the moment the fun begins. I am hoping to mostly keep this Rated PG-13 with maybe a few Chapters going rated-R due to language.
