《I Can Respawn In The Apocalypse》Chapter 39: Little Sister

I reach out my hand and cup it into a fist and then gently knock the door.
But there is no answer.
"It's me."
There is still no answer.
I take out my cell phone and give it a call. The sound of a ringtone rings from within the apartment.
There is suddenly the sound of hurried rumbling and scrambling from behind the door. I know that she is most likely hurrying to unblocked the door.
I then stick my key in through the keyhole and it slides right in.
With a twist, the key unlocks the door.
As I try to push into the door it is blocked with the bed.
As expected from my sister.
To even put the bed out here.
After about 5 minutes of scrambling about, I see the door open up and my sister immediately jumps at me.
"Brother!"
I hug her tightly.
"I'm home."
I quickly walk inside the house and she quickly closes the door and blocks it once again with the bed and sits on the bed.
"Brother, why did this all happen?"
"I don't know, but the world has gone to hell. Let me tell you about it."
I spent an hour inside the apartment explaining my way here and the dangers on the streets.
"So you're saying that almost 90% of humans on earth have changed into those Zombies!?"
"Yeah, a majority of them have become zombies."
"Then what should we do now?"
"I have a plan already set in stone. I've already gathered supplies weapons and resources now all we need is a base. This building will not work for it is dead center in the middle of Chinatown so it's too dangerous."
We'll head out in a while so make sure you pack up all your things for we won't be coming back.

I already packed up everything. I have packed up all the supplies needed and put them in my backpack.
If you had not come back by tonight then I was about to go out to search for you. I have already gotten the fire escape ready in case the zombies were to try getting through the front door.
She walks towards the window and opens it revealing a Pikachu backpack that I brought her packed full of supplies and hanging on the fire escape.
"As expected of you."
I pat her head and then started to mess up her hair. It's been a long time since I did that.
Li Xin suddenly remembers something and takes out a pearl from his backpack the item, the pearl was the Zombie core he got after defeating the Zombie.
"Here, I picked this up on my way back. It's me sorry for being so late in coming back."
My sister's eyes sparkle at the sight of the pearl and ask hurriedly. "What is this?"
I reply that it is an evolution Core which I picked up after I defeated the Mutant Zombie.
I continue to tell her all the benefits there are to take the core.
Since you have yet to kill a single Zombie your stats are still at there basic attributes meaning the stats you have at the start of the Apocalypse. After taking the Core you can immediately boost all your stats from your initial stats directly to tier 2.
Meaning a hundred point boost in all stats.
"Then let's do this! I want to become superhuman like you."
"You can't."
"What! But you told me all I had to do was absorb the thing and then I could become like you!"
"Yeah..."
"..."

The conversation ended there.
"Hey! EXPLAIN why can't I absorb it then!"
"I thought our little genius here would understand herself... *SIGH* I guess she isn't as much of a genius as she thought she was."
"HUH, What did you say! I am really smart you know! I got full A for all my scores even without anyone telling me to! I also completed all the-"
"Then why can't you figure out why yourself?"
"You! Hmpf I don't care."
She quickly pouts her little cheeks into a balloon and turns her head away.
"Alright alright, it's my fault okay. My little genius is still very smart okay."
"Hmpf!"
"The reason why I can't have you absorb it yet is that..."
Her ears quickly spring out like rabbits and start listening in to what I'm saying.
"The reason is..."
But I never finish my sentence...
"BROTHER!"
"Hahaha sorry sorry, you're just so cute when you're angry..."
I start laughing my head off at her angry little face.
My little sister is even so adorable when she gets angry.
"Alright, the reason behind why you can't absorb the Core just yet is because your body isn't strong enough to withstand it."
"???"
With a look of confusion, she looks at me with her innocent rabbit eyes.
"What this core does is to help you improve your physical body by leaps and bounds. But because your body is only at its initial state you might just explode because of how much power this core will give you. Absorbing something that can multiply your physical is body strength by 10 times is extremely painful.
Back when I was adding all those stats into my body there should have been a pain so strong that it would've knocked someone out cold. But because I was immune to the pain I didn't suffer the painful side effect of increasing my stats so fast.
Generally, people only increase there stats by only 10 at a time as it is more easily endurable. Only a masochist would add up their stats as crazily as me.
"So basically what we need to do now is let you kill a couple of zombies so that your stats aren't at your basic stats. That way when you start leveling up your stats with the core your body will more easily absorb it. People generally only absorb the core after they are Tier 2 or close to Tier 2."
Tier 2 Zombies are only supposed to appear after the first month of the Apocalypse so obtaining this Premature Tier 3 Core from a Mutant Zombie is quite rare.
