You grab a burning brand, a piece of wicker flaring with chemical residue, and wave it as the monster rushes. But the creature moves with greater speed than you thought possible, bearing blindly down on you. Its mouth opens, filling the air with the carrion reek of the meat hanging from its teeth, and you realize you don't have time to lure it sneakily away from the crash.
You fling yourself backward but feel it dig its teeth into your foot! It drags you forward, preparing to flip you up and toss you down its gullet the way it did with the corpse a moment ago.
The pain is astonishing, but you're still holding the brand! You lash out, striking its face with the chemical flame. It flinches back, and you drop heavily down onto the moss.
The dragon-thing steps away from you. Perhaps it fears the sheer number of creatures around, especially the controllers with their eerie coordination. Perhaps it is merely confused and angry, frightened by the still-guttering flames around the Specular. Whatever the reason, it gives one final disgusted snort and retreats into the mist.
You rise and test your leg. It hurts. You can move, but you're going to limp badly unless you can find some kind of crutch.
"Meanest damn peacock I ever saw," Alexius says, hands shaking as he slings his rifle.

The Way of Wrought Earth, or: My Tale of Rebirth as a Mostly Inanimate Rock
Mirage Winter. Second Clause, current act. A Relic Hunter's life is harsh — and often short — in the shattered lands of the Frontier. But when Whitelight reemerges, a legendary blade capable of separating anything the user wills it to cut, a newly formed unit organized of Hunter’s both young and old (and sediment based, in a particular case) vow to stop it from falling into cruel hands. Standing against them is the Frontier itself: the unbridled wrath of global federations, fellow Hunters, and those who lurk in the shadows of giants. As the world races to unravel a history desperately concealed, a semi-sapient rock soon realizes that some things are better off dead and buried — especially when those secrets carry an insidious corruption with no cure. Iteration: Mirror-glass Stars in Iron Oceans. First Clause. A soul wakes up as a rock, clinging to fragmented memories and knowledge of another era. What fate awaits such a creature? No, this isn't satire. Yes, I am dumb enough to try to take this seriously. Updates Wednesday, Friday with a variable amount of chapters. This story is not recommended for the easily disturbed. This is your only warning.

Frost Iron Forge
A young man is transfered into the fantasy world of his dreams. Now this young plucking adventurer must overcome several obstacles, from figuring out what class he wants to be, to seducing the white haired elf girl he just met, to finally defeating the looming threat of the Demon King himself. Together with a loyal band, this man sets off to accomplish the ultimate power fantasy! 2000 years later, a young rebel rises up against a tyrant as the world falls deeper and deeper into a millenium long ice age. Markus is concerned with only one thing, defeating the Supreme One, and setting people free from his reign. This fiction is a little thought project playground I just write for fun. Warning to any new readers, it's not a typical power fantasy isekai story. Although I do plan on writing power fantasy stuff later in the fiction. I hope atleast a few of you would enjoy my writing. Updates every two days.

Poorly Chosen
The Seventh Scourge of Altez has robbed countless peoples of their freedom, homes, and hopes. The Archon's twisted Dream deprives the land of its defenders, returning them as twisted monstrosities that cut down former friends and family with glee. The Alliance's campaign against his tyranny has failed, with former allies turning to his banner in hopes for mercy in his new domain. At the final hour, with any hope of salvation dwindling day by day, a legendary armory was rumored to have been uncovered. Within this ruin lies the very relic that had been used to slay the Fifth Scourge in ages past, one that ancient texts tell could only be wielded by a true warrior. Yet the one who ends up wielding the blade would lead all to question their understanding of what a 'True Warrior' is.
