《One man army in a marvel universe》True treasure

The container with the freezing solution had a small valve on it, once I open it, their was no going back. Plus I had only one, the material I use in making this, was taken from my parents lab. So I had to be careful not to take to many ingredient or else they would notice. I didn't fancy having that conversation, it would not end well for me.
Getting close to the safe, I pause for a moment. "Wait, ah crap, I forgot to check were this would be the most effective. Is it on hinges? Or the lock? Maybe all around the door? Shit, shit, shit, stupid! God damn it, this was a bad idea." I continue too curse around, screaming in frustration at my lack of planning this heist.
Sure I had seen movie and video about thieve cracking into a safe a hundred of times. When I was confronted with the real deal, I made mistake after stupid mistake, they drag me down in feeling that the task I had taken on, was like kicking a tough iron wall. Taking some deep breath, I manage in calming down my racing thougths, I knew that their wasn't any going back, I was already in too deep. If I left now, I lost my best chance at this type of score. Another chance like this wouldn't so easily pop up, and if it did. I could be damn sure it wouldn't be so lightly guarded.
"Okay, calm down, this canister isn't long lasting, nor can I stop it, after starting spraying. So what do I know about the safes? Not much, so what would a thief in a movie do? My best guest is he would aim on the back hinges. Okay but what if this safe locks all around. Wait a minutes, oh god I'm dumb. Il just freeze the middle, creating a hole and dig out whatever inside."
I smack my head with my hand as I mumble some curses, finally getting a grip on my emotion. I turn and pick up the crow bar from the pile of hand weapons, walking back to the safe, I pause for a moment as I felt that I was missing something. Putting the crow bar down, I started pacing. Trying to remembering what that feeling of forgeting something was, suddenly it hit me.
I remember a few years back, I watch a show about safes and locking mechanism. I had a flash, of the show saying something about starting with a stethoscope. I groan as the thing I was trying to remember, if I was to freeze the hinges it would only make my work harder. Sure I could try the stethoscope, but me being the genius that I was, I didn't even bring one, nore did the gangster had one either.
So that left me, with the freeze container and a crow bar. Yeah my rise as a super thief, was not going so hot right now. Also I found doing any of this without any proper training or prep, was slowly turning into a headache. Just because I was the smartes kid in my grade, didn't mean this was going too be a breeze. Hell I was sadly reminded of that practically every day, thanks in large part to my parents and younger brother.
As I approach the safe door I stop and realize in horror the huge mistake I was about too make. "Oh God! How did I miss that? The middle of the door, the part that has lots of layers of metal. Im such a dumbass, of course it a bad idea. Ah now that I mention it out loud, don't the thieve in movies usually pierce a hole in the safe before spraying." My head drop low in a mixture of embarrasment and shame. Any good safe cracker worth anything, would no doubt be shaking their heads in disappointment, at my complete lack of planing.

After sitting down in front of the safe, I felt like everything that I've done, meant nothing in front of this obstacle. Since I seem too be defeated by not a person. No what seem too bring me to my knees was a safe, an object that had no soul or intent, beside being built to keep stuff inside and people out. This contraption had me stump in my tracks, demanding far more focus too being force open then I had previously believe.
I check my watch, I gave a sigh for small victory. Everyone would be a sleep for a few more hours, I gave myself at the very less one more hour, in figuring out a proper way inside. It seem safe craking was another skill I had too put on the damn list.
As I was digging in my head trying to squeeze out everything I knew about safe, it being fictional or not. I reviewed that in most cases, what they use was a kind of blow torche. I curse my lack of craftiness, here I had a freezing container, yeah this isn't going well for me. I suppose once I had the freezing container, I kind of kick everything out of my head.
Then I thank whatever deity that granted inspiration, cause I finally had an idea. Now this wasn't buy far the best idea, but with the tools and equipment at my disposal, this was certainly my best chance. I remember from movies and shows on heist involving safes, that their was a part that was thiner then the rest. It was a few inches away from the hinges, the metal was thine in order for the door to close. If I could freeze that part, and hammer at it. I would no doubt break the door. Of course this was no picnic, it would take time and effort, but it was my best and probably my only chance.
I decided before starting I should check out the garage one last time, just in case I had overlook something in my haste. Well good news, I found some tools that would help, a steel wedge tool, a pry bar and a metal mallet hammer. I had already a crowbar, sledge hammer and a few screwdriver downstairs.
Sadly it seem, I had only hand tools to do the job. At the very least there was one brigth spot in all this. The gangster had been kind enough in installing some noise cancelling, in their basement. Not for one moment did I think that it was in concern of loud music bothering the neighbours. It was more likely that they use it, when questioning some people about certains things, that they weren't willing in sharing, in a more friendlier setting.
Standing once infront of my new rival, I sneered as I knew that I was the final victor, in are little battle. With the wedge and mallet on the floor by the safe, I use the freeze spayer on the line I had just drew on the safe. The cold from the spray, I could feel it on my hand that held the container. "This better be cold enough too freeze all the way through, or else I have to use the explosive. Which might just damage what's inside."
Once the last of the cold liquids left the hoze of the container. I replace it with the wedge in one hand and the mallet in the other. Just placing the wedge on the cold icy line on the safe, I could still feel it temperature seep trought my glove. Lifting the mallet up, extending my arm back. I hurled it on the wedge, a huge crack and metallic smash sounded out in the basement. I gritted my teeth and push on, replacing the wedge on the safe, swigging my arm back holding the mallet for another hit.
This continued for a good ten minuts, of course I move the wedge around on the icy line. Trying too cause a crack to appear, so far all I had manage was a odd indented line on the door of the safe. Fortunately the ice that had form on the safe remaine, on my prior tests of the substance. It had remaine frozen for at least an hour, before it even began to thaw out. So I knew I had some time, but I figure I shouldn't count on it to much, since I was producing heat every time I hit the wedge on the safe door.
As my arms grew tired from the constant strain, I force myself to keep smashing the wedge with the mallet. I could only stop if I manage to crack the door, anything else would only result in a massive failure. Finally I saw hope, a tiny crack appear on the safe. I gain a second wind, renewed with the knowledge that this could work. I up my tempo, with the mallet and wedge ignoring my arms muscles painful protest.
With one final hit I heard a large crack and snap from the safe, taking a step back my arms dead tired. I took in a beautiful sight, a crack from the top too bottom directly on the icy line. The wedge and mallet fell from my shaky hands. It would take time before I could move my arms, I knew that I needed a break, but I also knew that I saddly couldn't rest up completely. Half an hour was the most I could give myself before the next trying task ahead.
During my break I went back upstair in the kitchen, some pizza would be nice right now. Sitting down in a chair at the table I glared at the boxes of pizzas. Trying too move them with my mind, no luck. "Well their goes that plan, okay so I'm left with just laying my head down on the table, until I can feel my arms again."
After fifteen minutes, my arms were in good enough working order so that I could feed myself, without having to drop any slices on the floors. As the current other four pieces could attest, too my stubborn effort. Once the half hour was past, six pieces of pizza and a can of pop later. I made my way back down, next I was going to use the crowbar, as a lever in prying open the door.
Once the crowbar was in position, I leen back putting all my weight in it. I was sideways from the safe door, my backside facing toward the the wall behind the safe. I didn't know if this was good or not, but the safe was bolted to the concrete floor. So I didn't need to worry about it tilting over on its back on the ground. It a good thing I hadn't plan in taking the safe with me, this was the only good news about this really poorly executed heist.
As I pulled all my weight behind the crowbar, I could slowly feel something was giving way. I keep at it until I heard a snap. I tumbled on the floor, letting go of the crowbar that went flying out of my hands. I heard a smash on my right as I hit the back of my head on the floor, I could see stars circling my head as I laid their daze. I move my hand up behind my head, no blood, thank God for small blessing, beside a massive bruise, I should be okay. For now I was just going to lay their on the floor, just until the world stop spining.
Once the world stop moving, I got back up slowly, I move to the safe too see what had happen. Well on the side of the hinges, on the inside of the door their were some two inch thick metal bars like things, they were all bent, with some wide different size crack half way open on each. Looking around I spoted the crowbar implanted in the wall. Walking over I manage in prying it out of it, getting back too the safe. "Well, looks like I'm going too have to smash them open." I sighed at the extra labour, grimacing at the stats of my arms were going to be, after all this.
Taking once more the hatefull wedge up, I somehow manage it sticking it in the lowest of the bend crack bars. Raising the sledge hammer with my arms up high in the air, I once more use all my weigh in the swing, all of it on the wedge stuck in the bar crack. It was slow going, all this was more physical effort then all my workouts from all these years. It was a good thing that I had keep myself in excellent health all this time. Or else I would no doubt be winded by just the first wedge and mallet workout. I took at least ten minuts per bars just to break them apart, then a fifteen minute break between each.
I had spent at the very least three hours on this safe. Looking at my watch, I stop as I grown at the time, but I had no choices but too go back upstaire and respray everyone. It was already two AM in the morning, I was still stuck on opening the damn safe door. Now I was just happy that the upstairs bedroom safe had been open. Having to open a second safe, as the worse senario would have been a nightmare, especially since I had brought only one freeze container. I still had one safe bar to go, but taking in the time it would take just breaking it, then recovering from it, it was to close for comfort.
Going around using my sleep spray, I was now on my last vial, I had three at the beginning, one I use to flood the whole house. The second was still half full even after I had sprayed everyone, now it was empty. I was on my last vial, if I didn't manage to get into the safe in the next four hours, I had to give up. I couldn't wait here the whole day in the house, for one I barley had enough in keeping everyone asleep for the full day. Second, the risk that a group would come, was high, especially since what I want won't stay in the safe for long.
Coming back down, I stood in front of the safe, this was my last hurrah. "If I ever do, this again, I really need better equipment. But how do I justify getting my hands on tools like that? Well that for future Braden to figure out. For now I have plenty on my plat." Grumbling at the unfairness of my life. The stress of lossing my parents or my own life in a uncertain future, was really putting a hidden pressure on me.
Many a nights I laid in my bed, filled with worrie that even with all my struggles, it wouldn't be enough. I didn't even know if I could or had prevented my parents death. So far it was okay, but in their work. I had begun to suspect that they were drawing near, so a year ago I started messing with their work. Trying to delay or even prevent any progress without being to obviouse, but so far all I had seem to manage was slow them down.
Three years, that was how much I think, I had gain. Two years, that was how much time it would take for them too complete their work. Two years which I thought I had left with them, or how much time I had too live. I desperately hope that I was dead wrong.
These grim thoughts aside, I still had a bar to break. After a little placing and bagging on the wedge, I manage in sticking it in the crack. Lifting the sledge, I rammed down the sledge on the wedge for hopefully the last time. After another ten minutes a snap greeted my ears, laying the sledge down on the floor, I lean on the handle as I gasp in air to my lungs as sweat poured down my face. I had remove my mask after the first few minutes realizing that I rather not wear it, for what was to be a long hard workout. I still had my gloves, leaving any finger prints would not be a good idea. Sure I doubt that they could find me, but who was to say that my prints wouldn't be in the system at a later date.
Looking at the safe, I knew that all I needed was one last yak with the crowbar. The door would swing open letting me have my treasure. Getting the crowbar off the floor, I reposition myself as I was before. Putting all my weight behind the crowbar, the door gave a loud metallic grinding noise. Encourage by that, I move up and ran backwards holding tightly on the crowbar as I rush back with all my weight. A loud crash and bang came from it, I fell down on my ass. Getting back up I quickly move to the front of the safe.
The door was on the ground, a feets maybe away from the safe on the floors. A large dente surounded by crack was imprinted on the concrete floor between the safe and the door. I walk in front of the safe looking inside, their a large tube was in the middle, stacks of money surrounded it, in different shelve around. In a few of these, I spotted what was no doubt jewels in black silk bags. Their even was a few silver and gold bars as well. In one shelve I found my maine prize, a smile brighten my face, this was what I had really come for, anything else was just a bonus.
Taking the fragile vial in my hands I examine it, turning around I walk toward a bag I had brought with me, taking out a black case. I gently place the vial inside, on the vial you could read Hyde serum. Going back to the safe, I reach in the same selve as the vial, taking out a small ledger. Opening it up I smiled in relief and gasp in surprise at its content. This was a note book, from Dr Calvin Zora on his work on his serum. This would come in great help for my own research. Placing the ledger with the case, I went back to the safe.
So far, the maine thing I had come for was here, the ledger was a surprise. The large tube was next, opening it up I slid out some rolled up papers. Opening the blueprint on the floor, I looked up in the top side and spotted the title. Project rebirth, the blueprint for the vital ray chamber. I laught out loud, this was exactly the two things I had wanted. All that time on the dark web, stalking in the shadows looking for something like this.
I had stumble on a message with some odd reference, after a little digging, I found out that I had found a plan in stealing the Mr Hyde serum and a reference of a exact copy on the blueprint of project rebirth. Following the source for weeks, i found an opportunity. The thieves for whatever reasons were placing these items in this house, for a few days before moving them somewhere else to sell, once it was auction off their was no way for me to find it again. This was the last night, that the items would be in the house.
"All mine now, bitches! Hihi, you snooze you lose. Okay, now I just fill my pockets with everything that want, stash what I can't use, somewhere else were no one will find it for a long time. And then just disappear in the night." I grin as I imagine the horror on the faces of who ever was the owner of the content of the safe.

Kreig Goes Apesh*t (An AU of Returning to No Applause)
An AU of my previous story, Returning to No Applause, that asks the simple question of "What if it all went wrong?" When Kreig first appears on Earth again, after being stranded in another world for 130 years, he finds himself faced with weapons and guns. In a fit of instinct, he accidentally murders one of the many Fighters, causing what can only be described as a massacre to take place. The story that follows this simple premise is completely opposed to the one told before, focusing less on character improvement and more so degradation. It should come as no surprise that I personally recommend reading the OG story before checking this one out, and if you've already done so, great! Swell havin' ya! Any such readers might remember that I mentioned writing a story like this a while back, and... Here we are. This is in no way a continuation or sequel, nor will it be very long. Expect around 15 chapters at most depending on various factors. All and all, the 5-page length will remain the same (apart from chap. 1) and so will the release time, Sundays at 20:30 EST (I think?). All that aside, I sure hope you'll enjoy this! It'll obviously be very different from the OG story, but I personally think that's a good thing. Cheerio!
