Chapter 33 – Scribing Down
Ever since being told to get inside the room, Ramiel spent the next few hours writing the alphabet letters. He was somehow persuaded to write his language. Gundry left the house already, but before that, he gestured Ramiel to write his language. Hetold him by making writing motions, speaking four different types of languages, and then using hand motions to write again. Ramiel then understood that they want him to write down his language.
Ramiel then was told to somehow think of a way that the scriber will be able to understand it. Or so what Ramiel think so, honestly at the moment Ramiel is only writing things down in English. Ramiel contemplated if he wants to write in his language. But thinking about it, Ramiel went with the English one. It is easier, and besides, he can just write the twenty-six letters and then make a short summary on how to speak and read the language. But inside Ramiel’s mind, he thought how could the lady even learn all of this?
He turned his eyes towards the lady. Sitting on the floor, and constantly moving her mechanical pen.
The Mechanical Pen of the lady seems to be crafted specifically just for the lady, Ramiel thought how easy for the Lady to just remove the top, insert the ink. He rather likes how convenient the pen is.
If only I got that pen instead of this feathered one. I mean, having an ink bottle made out of some wood is good. But this feathered pen looks old, and the point is rather sharp.
Ramiel observed the pen he is holding in his right hand. He rather hated it for being too sharp, and it always somehow cuts up the paper he is using.
I really want to complain about this. But too bad the lady is not even willing to talk to me. Or even allow me to ask her something up close.

He turned his eye towards the barrier that is surrounding the lady. It is a light blue dome that completely protects her from all sides. Ramiel knew that such things like magic exist in this place. And even with that, he was still astonished to see a fully functional barrier in front of him.
Well, this just shows how skeptical and on guard the lady is to me though.
He smiled wearily at the thought. He was indeed allowed to enter this room. But the distrust towards him was clear. He knew that a lady, who is born of a higher class, wouldn’t just trust him that easily. It would be weird if they do; hence he can at least partially understand the barrier magic.
But can you not look at me as I am a monster? Fuck, even I know my place. And just because you are pretty, doesn’t mean I have sexual intentions towards you. Too bad for you missy, this young man can’t even think of his dick when my throat is hurting like hell. And even if I do, there is also the brothel in town, but too bad I really don’t need STD in my life right now.
Ramiel grumbled angrily inside his head. As he does, the lady’s fierce gaze landed upon him. Ramiel did not blink and just stared blankly at the aggressive lady. He merely pointed his eyes back at the paper, started writing the alphabet and marking down the instructions on how to read and write them.
Wow, my penmanship looks horrendous.
Ramiel criticized his own penmanship. He wasn’t really that great in that department. Not to mention, he barely remembers touching a pen for a year or so. He was more of an encoder guy, so he rather typed out his reports and just printed them. His class allowed such things hence he got lax. He did write down some notes on class sometimes. But other than that, he didn’t really feel like holding a pen.

Well at least looks readable? He thought while holding the paper up. Speaking of the paper, it is more a long scroll than just a square paper or anything.
The moonlight entered through the windows. The whistling gush of fresh air outside made Ramiel looked over outside. He thought that he should be really going now. Not to mention that he still needs to work on the Inn. He knows that he is being paid here, but the job in the Inn had much held more importance to him than this job.
Ramiel never wanted to fetch things for the lady ever again. But since he was just being told to kindly scribe what language he is speaking. All Ramiel could do is suck it up and write the language down. But now that he is done, Ramiel really wanted to get out of this room.
So he stood up and held what he wrote towards the lady. The Lady named Aubrey looked at Ramiel. She gestured for him to turn down the paper, which he complied. Observing what was written in the paper, the lady cringed at his penmanship. After that, he let the paper roll towards the lady.
Lady Aubrey took the roll of paper and threw another one. It was a blank paper, and looking at it made Ramiel tilt his head. The Lady seems to grasp his confusion, so she gestured by pointing at one of the letters he wrote down to another. She looks like she wanted Ramiel to match the letters that correspond to the other parchment.
Ramiel realizing what she wanted, felt dread. He really wanted to just leave but then he realized that the door behind him is now covered with the same barrier that is protecting the lady. Not to mention, that on his right wrist is a brand of letters acting as some branding bracelet.
It seems the lady is forcing me to do this work. She didn’t really do this before, but I guess when it comes to scribe work she is strict? Maybe, fuck I don’t know...I hope I am getting paid here.
Unable to get out of the room, Ramiel resolves himself to sit down and match the letters. Praying, that it better be worth the work he will do.
