Chapter 151 – Journal Entry 1: Unknown land
I open my eyes only to see something unfamiliar. It didn’t make sense to me where I am at the moment. All I could remember was the smoke rising from the top. A loud honk, the smell of tide, the seagulls flying above the sky flapping their wings endlessly to the horizon, and the waves bashing on metal, there were also the faces of happiness from the children, men, women and elderly.
I remember there was a huge change in the clouds. The scene of chaos and the explosion that hurled me into an endless abyss where I felt like I was floating before everything vanished.
I don’t remember anything after that. I tried to recall my memories hard but there was nothing I could remember at all. Whether it was my name or where do I came from. All I could remember was that the sky I saw in the hazy images in m head was not light red.
The sky I am seeing had a grim light red shade. The sun could be seen yet the way the color of the clouds illuminates the surrounding made me think that this world isn’t the world I was used to. Just the sky alone filled with airships that should be outdated or the odd cemetery I am sitting with my back leaning on a tombstone didn’t make any single sense.
I don’t remember any sort of memories other than the vague haze of images. I could feel that I am alive simply by breathing and feeling the wind permeating my skin. So this place definitely wasn’t hell. It maybe a world I did not know off, but who knows at this point?
I inspected myself. I am wearing a long brown coat, two pairs of gloves, pants, boots and a swords sheath tied around my waist. I seem to have a long black hair, my hands look like they were rough. I feel something heavy on my body, looking at it. My body was filled with weird assortments of items, from dynamite, two pair of revolvers and a few cigars coupled with a lighter. I could feel that there is simply a ton that I carry.

What was I doing with all of these items? Maybe my profession was quite something, but I just do not remember any of it. I tried scouring my mind, searching for any question yet there was simply none. Maybe I hit my head badly, to the point that this happens.
I held my head with my right hand, I felt like my gloves were a bit cold. Did it rain when I somehow found myself here? Because right now I feel like I just bathe in rain water. Well, it doesn’t really matter, it is almost dry. The place I am at the moment looks like a cemetery. Looking at myself sitting on a grave like a drunk man made me feel embarrassed.
I stood up away from the grave. Bowing my head towards the tombstone for forgiveness, I left to walk. While walking I observed that the cemetery was quite large. There are tombstones lined around in the path I am stepping. In the middle of the cemetery, there was this memorial monolith.
I inspected the monolith trying to see what’s up with it. In the monolith, it says ‘In memory to Ram ‘am El’ It looks like a memorial for someone and in the plague says that this man a hundred years ago manages to stop a raging beast from killing the nation’s beloved king. The person looks like his body was not found and in memory, there was this monolith memorial put in place.
I did not have any name so I am just going to have this guy’s name. Ra’am El if someone ever asks for my name. I do not have any memories anyway so I rather have something to call myself when asked. But I am nameless, and until my name can be remembered I will stay nameless.

This place was quite eerie to me. There was no way that I would stay here any longer than I need to. So I walk around the multiple paths until I saw the exit out of the place. Walking outside the cemetery what greeted me was the European like buildings lined up together. Bricked houses, tiled hipped roofs, and other things. The road was paved with stone. I could see the people around carrying their own brand of weapons. From mechanical like swords and different type firearms.
They look primitive to me, their arms at least. I could sense that they have this steam punk like nature on them. And looking around with almost all the citizens armed and ready made me wonder if the red clouds could be the cause of all of this.
I am not an idiot not to tell that there is something wrong in the sky. The eyes of the people as they stride towards the road that I guess as towards the gates made me realize it easily that there might be great danger outside. Normally such heavily armed citizens shouldn’t be possible. Even I do not have memories I could vaguely compare that the world I set foot before wasn’t like this.
No arm citizens that can carry leisurely weapons like this without any worries from authorities. Either this is a free state, a tolerant government or something out there that makes it excusable for the people to be this armed. The Grim sky like I said is enough to know which it is. No sane leader or king would allow his citizens to easily invoke a rebellion. But with how I could see the banner that belongs to a king fluttering within a flag pole located in some roof of the buildings. I say that there can only be one conclusion.
There is trouble everywhere and the tenseness of those who walk to where I suspect the main road outside shows it enough.
But it is not the time to worry about the world. I am at the moment broke and penniless. The only thing I could now was to find any work and what in the hell this world is.
I could only continue to live.

A (Not So) Simple Fetch Quest
Oh great hero! The evil Demon Lord has once again arisen to terrorise our lands, and we have summoned you to save our people! No, we don't want you to fight the demon lord! Of course not; we're the good guys! What sort of good guys kidnap people from other worlds and force them to take part in wars that have nothing to do with them? That would just be plain evil! We'd be no better than the demons! Katie, after her summoning by an excessively loud mage suddenly takes an unexpected twist, is sent off on a simple fetch quest, with a promise that she'll be back home in five minutes at most. She doesn't even need to leave the building. Alas, when a goddess' blessing causes her wish for an actual adventure to be taken rather more literally than she expected, she finds herself lost in a dark cave, far away from the sword she was supposed to acquire and far too close to a population of giant bugs. Still, at least she wished her life wasn't in any danger. Among other things. Be careful what you wish for. You might just get it. This is a dark litRPG adventure, both in terms of Katie accidentally wishing all the lights out, and also in that she loses as often as she wins, often with horrific and disturbing consequences. Luckily, Katie isn’t the sort of person to let a mere grizzly death or two get her down, and is prepared to try, try and try again to get her hands on the holy sword and finally complete her ‘simple’ fetch quest. Or perhaps—with a few resistance skills under her nightie—she might even come to enjoy losing. Not that she’d ever consider forgoing revenge, even if she did. I’ve ticked all the content warning checkboxes for this one. There’s no explicit sexual content, but there are enough references to justify the warning. Profanity happens rarely, but Katie isn’t averse to swearing when she gets particularly angry. As for gore/trauma, it doesn’t get much worse than the first few chapters, but there will be occasional chapters that have extra content warnings.
