Vampires, humans, demons, and werewolves all once lived on this earth.
Vampires, beings able to transform into bats and drink blood, were as light as a feather, yet some were as or stronger than a dragon. They also had untold regeneration abilities.
Humans, The only species to not possess any particular traits. They would more than make up with their technology, the lack of any particular exploitable weaknesses, and their adaptability. They also had the highest numbers.
Demons are creatures that accel at ability and are by far one of the strongest races, however, they lack intelligence, and do not possess a progenitor.
Lastly, werewolves, have extreme variety despite having wolves in their name. Most did not have wolf characteristics. Think of them as hybrids mixed with certain animals, they also amplify the abilities of their animal counterparts.
Now let me tell you a story.
A story of 3 brothers. The first brother, wanted power, more power than all of his siblings, he was the progenitor of the human race.
Next was the second brother, he was a kind soul. Always shining like a bright star, the animals all loved him they felt protected by him. He was the progenitor of the werewolf race.
Lastly was the third brother, no one understood him, and people hated, and scorned him. Thought of him as nothing but a monster in human skin. The third brother shut himself in, in his dark-filled room. He liked the darkness it made him feel at peace.
One fateful evening the first brother thought of a wicked and cunning plan the first brother wanted this palace, not this world. All to himself and only himself.

[Father]
"mm?"
[Kurayami]
"What's wrong father continue with the bedtime story."
[Father]
"Kurayami, I'm afraid that we may have to cut this story short," Father says in a serious tone.
[Young Kurayami]
"Whyyy~ I don't wanna!~"
[Father]
"Be quiet my son" Father covers my mouth with his left hand, I follow his orders I knew better not to disobey him. Especially when he had such an awful look in his eyes.
Suddenly- BOOM!
A wave of heat and pain had spread itself across my body, my brain rolling around in my skull.
I looked up to see my father's anguished face as he had blocked most of the damage from reaching me. His back sizzled and popped as blood oozed out of his broken body.
But almost as if time had rewound, his limbs snapped back into place and his charred skin returned to its normal pigmentation. He coughs out shrapnel and debris.
[Father]
"It seems my foolish brother really had done it... He finally tracked me down and made a weapon capable of killing us." He sighs, seemingly unaffected by that explosion.
[Father]
"He may be foolish, but he's not stupid. He wouldn't go on an all-out assault like this if he didn't have the means to end my life."
[Father]
"Quickly now! My son, you must hide within the secret bunker for 2 weeks. Do you understand?"
[Young Kurayami]
"What about you father?" My voice trembling tears started to well up in my eyes.
[Young Kurayami]
"Don't leave me all alone like mother, please father, please!" Unable to hold my tears back.
[Father]
"Don't worry my dear child I will always be with you, It seems its time." He bites my neck and I feel my body begin to weaken. He wasn't sucking my blood, no, this was an injection!

[Young Kurayami]
"F-father?" I couldn't speak the pain had taken over all my senses and confusion started to whirl in my heart like a typhoon of sludge.
[Father]
"Don't worry son you will be fine."
[Young Kurayami]
"I-it hurts."
My father picks up my body. I slump limply in his arms as he carries me into a secret compartment under the bed.
[Father]
"This door will open up in 4 days there is food, water, and emergency blood packs in case you need them. I also have a manual of everything you need to know. Don't worry about losing it, once I've died the armory and all our goods will be transported into this ring" He slips a golden ring onto my fingers and it slips into my skin like a bug crawling into a crevice in the wall.
Die? Father dying? Why? I choked on my words.
[Father]
"Remember son. Humans fear the unknown, never let them find out who you are by ANY means" clearly panicking.
[Father]
"Love you..." Tears started to well in the corners of his eyes.
Father then lets out a grim smile, another round of explosions and screaming ensues. Father hastily shoves me into the cellar.
[Young Kurayami]
"Father!" I yell with my remaining strength.
