《Vamped up》Chapter 1 - 11 years later...

[Kurayami]
"*Gasp*" I jolt up in a cold sweat from my bed. My heart was pounding I could feel each heartbeat ripple through my body and mind.
[Kurayami]
"Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha, ha, ha~" I grab and clench my chest.
Why? The past, the past that I tried my absolute hardest to forget.
[Kurayami]
"11 years...] I catch my breath. It's been 11 years since the Akeldama clan has been wiped out, leaving only 1 survivor, Me.
I chalk up the horrible nightmare as showings of stress, after all, I'm beginning my first year of high school, after living out in the boonies for so long and gaining a few connections I was ready to go to "Future Academy."
...
I wonder if the person who made that name got fired? Future Academy is a school for young talents, be it combat, culinary arts, gun handling, mathematics, art, or literature, you name it. They can support it.
Although rumor has it that it's just a hot spot for stuck-up rich kids to gather and flex their parent's wealth... Ugh.
A shiver runs down my spine, I snap back to reality and take a look at my alarm clock.
[Kurayami]
"Oh, OH SHIT."
7:37? I have to be there at 7:50! I don't want to show up to my first day of school late. First impressions are everything. I jump out of bed rip off my clothes, shove my things into my backpack, head to the kitchen, make some toast, put on my shoes, and booked it towards the door.
WAIT! I screech to a stop, that was a close one. I almost forgot to put on my clothes. Since I'm late I may as well take a shorter shortcut. I extend out my right hand.
[Kurayami]
"Execute order, Wardrobe 36" A deep dark red light surrounds then engulfs me. The orb of light sticks to my body and dissipates.

The result is a skin-tight, latex, form-fitting suit. Covered in armored platting. With a hood and skeleton mask that keeps my mouth revealed. It's still a work in progress but... it looks pretty darn good.
[Kurayami]
"Activate stealth"
...
Nothing happened...
...
I feel stupid. Whatever, I attach a cloak that I pulled out from a spatial storage system. I leap out my bedroom window and take to the skies. Jumping from building to building, being careful not to alert my presence to the humans.
I jump into a nearby alleyway, change into my school uniform, apply my contact lenses to hide my deep red eyes, and head to the school's gates.
I walk down the premium-feeling halls, not exactly lined with gold or anything, but it still gives off the "rich man" aura, enough to make me feel out of place. Though I made it to school on time, barely, I found myself aimlessly roaming the halls.
While I was in my own little world of stress and anxiety trying to find the principles office. I fail to notice someone sprinting full speed in my direction behind me.
A vampire's senses are better than a normal human's but that only really boosted a vampire's sense of smell and eyesight. Our hearing was lacking compared to our other senses but our hearing was still better than that of humans. So the fact that I failed to sense the person running pedal to the metal in my direction was a major failure on my part.
[Kurayami]
"Kwaah-"
... They didn't stop, they B-lined right through me knocking me over... No, they straight up cleared me. I was down for the count, RKO, eliminated.
[Mad Dasher]
"What do you think you're doing?!" The mad dasher picks me up by the collar.
Before me, was a young blond girl with pearly blue eyes. With a well-toned body with moderate proportions.

[Mad Dasher]
"What gave you the idea that you could get away with skipping class huh?" scowling.
[Mad Dasher]
"Hand over your ID ya damn punk."
[Kurayami]
(Ain't this overkill?)
I stare into her face shocked and wide-eyed.
[Mad Dasher]
"Oi!' she winds up to punch me in the face.
[Principal]
"Wait! He's with me!" A voice comes out behind me. And I recognize that voice instantly.
[Kurayami]
"Mother?'
She picked me up when the secret bunker had run out of supplies. It turned out she was from some uber-rich family and was the principal of this school.
[Principal]
"Let go of him, he wouldn't even have an ID anyways this is his first day of school here."
[Mad Dasher]
"A-ah, yes ma'am" She lets go of my collar.
I flop to my knees and I pick myself back up.
[Kurayami]
"Sorry ma'am, I got lost trying to find the principal's office."
[Principal]
"Figured, you were never good with directions, anyways follow me. You too Sato."
Sato? Is that the Mad Dasher's name? she starts following the principal. Guess her name is Sato huh? Awfully manly.
We follow her through the hallway, We eventually reach a rather big double door with the word "Principal's Office" Plastered above the door. She opens the door and sits down at a big desk facing the door.
The principal lets out a sigh.
[Principal]
"Kurayami, this is Sato Ren, Ren, this is Akeldama Kurayami."
[Kurayami]
"Pleased to meet you!" I bow.
[Sato]
"L-like wise" She bows back.
[Principal]
"Great now that you have gotten to know each other," she looks at me then Sato. "I want you to look after this foolish son of mine."
Urk- That hurt.
[Sato]
"B-but I-"
The principal quickly cuts her off.
[Principle]
"No buts, and I won't take no for an answer, now leave. I need to talk to Akeldama alone."
[Sato]
"B-" The principal shoots a menacing glare "Y-y-YES MA'AM" she storms through the door.
Yeesh~
[Principle]
"As you know you will be transferred to class 3-b, I have also implemented a special schedule to hide your, lineage."
The principal of this school who also happens to be my foster mother knows my secret. She is one of the few people who I've told about my bloodline or my race.
[Principle]
"Also stay away from people of class 1-A not only are most of them combat class, smart, and skilled at deduction. Some of them have a grudge against vampires."
I nod
[Principle]
"Now then-" she starts to take off her glasses.
Oh no this can only mean one thing.
She suddenly jumps towards me.
[Mother]
"Now give your mother a hug!~"
I instinctively dodged. My vampire senses did not fail me this time.
[Kurayami]
"Mother, not now."
[Mother]
"Fine~ get going now. You don't want to leave her hangin'."
I nod and then walk off, I open the door to see Sato leaning against a wall grumbling, mean-mugging me. she signals for me to follow her and she leads me to my class.

Remorse
I have killed many people over my long life. Men, women, children. None have escaped the shadows that I control. It was only one tiny mistake that I made that changed my life forever. I underestimated her, and I would pay for my hubris. “For every death you have given, you will feel their pain.” What? “For every person you have killed, you will feel regret.” Wait, wait… “For every murder you have commited, you will know what you have done.” I don’t think this is going to be pretty. The power leaves her voice as she continues in a softer tone. “I will give you back what you have lost, you will feel empathy again.” Her power releases me and I fall to the ground. Diana. That was her name. I will remember it. ******** This story starts out somewhat dark, but it will lighten up after the first chapter. I tend to not enjoy the psychological tag too much since stories with the tag tend to be a little insane for my liking, but I feel that I would be remiss not putting it on this story, since a lot of it is about the psychology of the main character. All the content warnings are checked since I want to leave my options open to me for the future. I hope you enjoy.
