******* Carolus' POV *******

I am doing my first daily routine right now of standing in the roof of the castle keep staring at the west.

This is a habit of mine when I was back in my own world doing yoga exercises on the attic of my home before the sun touches my back but I can't do that here since it is no longer necessary since I'm strong as hell and there is no need to maintain my body.

I also do other things like teaching the children how to read and write in the enchanting room since all of my books and writing tools are there and I feel sorry for them since there didn't get any education because of the war and invasions.

Arthur suggested to also teach the children how to fight but it is not necessary since I'm here and I'm not going to let anybody hurt them while they are staying in my territory.

I'm also busy redecorating my castle.

I replaced all of the lamps with glowstones to conserve light resources.

I also added rooms on the second floor to accommodate the number of people that are staying in my castle and also built temporary shelters on the first floor to make sure that everyone can sleep on beds and not from their makeshift sleeping bags.

The beds alone cost me quite a lot of wools and strings but thankfully Queen Arachne left chests full of strings and other things outside the gate.

I don't know when Queen Arachne left these chests but there is a written note with only three words in it along with her name on the bottom.

'Gifts and apology.

Queen Arachne.'

I don't know what she meant by that but I'm not complaining since I'm glad that somebody is giving me free gifts especially when I needed it the most.

Oh. I'm also busy feeding more than FIVE HUNDRED HUMAN BEINGS in my territory.

I am already feeding Arthur and his people but I'm now also feeding Queen Thea and her army.

Apparently, they run out of food and they needed my help.

They only managed to bring one month worth of food with them when they left their capital and they already ate most of it.

I don't exactly have problems with sharing my food supply since I have quite a lot of it and I can just quickly grow them using bonemeal and I also have a ton of them.

But damn.

They consume so much food every day. They managed to eat more food than my cows, sheep, and chickens combined. They are even worse than my pigs.

I didn't complain to them since I don't want them to starve to death and I don't really know what I'm going to do with my surplus food.

I also learned that they don't actually know about the bonemeal trick.

Apparently, they only rely on what they called fertilizer to nourish their crops.

They are really happy knowing about this simple trick but only some of them can craft the bonemeal. They said that their crafting skills are not that high to be able to craft it. I don't really understand what they are talking about so I just ignored it for now.

I can hear someone walking behind me while I'm still pondering in my thoughts.

"King Carolus. Queen Thea and her general are already in your room waiting for you." I can hear Arthur's voice behind me.

I just turned around and nodded to him once.

Queen Thea requested to have a talk with me about something again.

She keeps asking me to talk about things and I just flat out reject her since it is bothersome but it looks like I can no longer avoid her since she is already in my room.

I started walking towards my room along with Arthur following behind me.

I managed to reach my room and I quickly opened the door.

Queen Thea immediately saw me and both her and the general rose in their chairs.

I quickly walked inside my room and sit on the chair.

Queen Thea quickly followed and both the general and Arthur immediately sit in their chairs after her.

This is really cool to see and it never gets old.

"What is it do you want to talk about, Queen Thea?" I quickly get to the point since I really don't want to go to the process of pleasantries before the conversation starts.

"Straight to the point, I see. As you can tell, I and my army are about to leave to go back to our kingdom." She said while keeping her tone gentle.

I really miss her voice when she was on the wall ordering her army. Strong and authoritative.

She then placed a paper on the table.

"This is a letter of recognition. It has my signature on it and the royal seal of my kingdom. You can use it to be able to get inside my kingdom if ever you decide to travel there. You can also use this to be able to stay in the Lord's and Lady's castle and have the best accommodations."

Okay.

I don't know what this about but this is a really useful paper so I just accepted it.

"You can also send me an invoice for all the things you have done and given to us. Don't hesitate to demand whatever amount you deemed necessary."

Okay.

This one I will rather ignore since I don't really care about money.

After hearing her talk for a while, the meeting was about to be concluded when there is someone knocking on the door.

"I guess that's about it, King Carolus. Once again, thank you for all the things you have done. Hope we will meet again in the future." Queen Thea said after babbling for a while.

I was about to fall asleep this entire meeting but I managed to stop myself.

She then stands in her chair and walks towards the door.

Her general is right behind her.

She opened the door and I can see the red hair woman outside.

I remembered that her name is Rose and she recently woke up yesterday.

Rose tried to kneel to the floor but she was stopped by Queen Thea who is starting to leave.

After seeing Queen Thea disappeared, Rose quickly walked inside the room and closed the door.

She also tried to kneel in front of me but I stopped her and asked her to sit on the chair.

Nobody was talking and the room is starting to fill with so much tension.

She just keeps staring at me and it looks like she really wants to kill me.

"Can I speak freely, Your Majesty?" She then asked after a while.

I nodded my head.

"So, you're the man who abandoned his kind for 500 years." She quickly said in a really toxic tone.

"You don't have the..." Arthur was about to say something to her but I just raised my hand to stop him.

I still don't really know what she is talking about why she is really angry at me.

"What makes you say that?" I asked her to be able to extract information about the things she said in the basement.

"'What makes you say that?' Don't play dumb with me! You stayed hidden for a long time while the monsters ravaged this world!" She shouted at me while standing in her chair.

Arthur was also about to stand in his chair but I just put my hand on his shoulder to hold him down.

My intuition is telling me that Rose is about to equip her weapon. I can also feel Arthur is about to hold a weapon on his hand.

Dammit, everyone.

Why does everybody is so violent in this world?

Thankfully, no one is equipping their weapons and Rose sat down on her chair after her emotional outburst.

"What are you talking about? What are these things you keep asking King Carolus?" Arthur asked Rose a series of questions.

Thank you, Arthur.

I was about to ask her those questions.

"I guess the rest of the world has already forgotten about the history and only the kingdom of Aezeokar is the only one who remembers them."

She started talking for a while and I think that she thinks I already know what she is talking about which is not by the way and just focused on Arthur.

She started telling a story about how the great Ender dragon was born with the greed and malice of the humans.

The Ender dragon was born in a place of eternal darkness and is so powerful that she started creating floating lands and filling them with monsters.

She is not content with her creations in the endless void so she breathes a huge fire in her mouth that managed to break the space and created a new dimension filled with lava and fire.

She also filled this fiery dimensions with monsters.

She started to get bored traveling between these two dimensions admiring her creations so she tried to travel to the overworld but cannot do it since it is protected by the Goddess of all creations.

She was really angry about this and screamed so strong that it manages to crack a small gateway connecting the three dimensions.

The gateway was so small that she cannot pass through so she just sends her creations and ordered them to conquer this world in her name.

So many monsters passed through the gateway and ravaged the four kingdoms.

There was no order or glory in the attack and just they kill everything in their path.

There were three great monsters that lead each of the individual types of monsters and they were also other great monsters but they not as active and even some of them just content on staying in one place.

The kingdom of Xaerin, Astikuviel, Aezeokar, and Chaephitopia banded together for the first time and tried to stop this madness but failed miserably.

The people started praying to the Goddess for help.

The Goddess quickly answered their prayers and gave gifts to each leader of the kingdoms to be able to fight back.

She also said that there is someone who will lead all the leaders who are granted gifts to defeat all the monster and to stop the ender dragon but the promised person never came.

The king of Aezeokar decided to lead them himself and started calling themselves as the heroes who will save the world.

Three kings and one queen managed to push back the three great monsters with their combined armies in a forest but they didn't manage to kill them since they are so powerful.

The world cheered for this victory.

The ender dragon was so angry about this and screamed once again to create another small gateway. She not only created one but managed to create so many and it is scattered all over the world.

Instead of sending monsters, this time she just started breathing fireballs through.

It rained down on the world and managed to burn more than half of the world.

Despair quickly returned to everyone.

The four heroes don't have a single clue about how to stop the ender dragon so they decided to just fight her head on.

They assemble an army so big and equipped them with diamond armor and diamond weapons that it depleted all of the diamonds resources of this world.

The ender dragon saw this foolish struggle and just welcome them by creating a small portal in her own giant floating island connecting to the overworld.

The combined army saw this opportunity and quickly charge forward.

They were met with death and destruction.

The king of Aezeokar quickly ordered a retreat and managed to only save about half of the army.

The four heroes then started thinking about how to stop the ender dragon and they only managed to find a way to just trap her.

They attacked once again but this time they started building obsidian towers around the island and placed an ender crystal on top that they managed to craft to chain the ender dragon in her own island.

They managed to succeed but most of them died including the four heroes.

Only a handful of people managed to get back to tell the tale.
