Chapter 35 - A Visit To The Forest (3)
…
“This is getting boring, I am already being merciful enough by not simply destroying that dimension, but you are pushing it by asking so many questions.”
Li Qu casually said, but in the ears of Melian Aelfis, it was extremely alarming.
She sweated hard and muttered with a voice of uncertainty, “But… I can only use it in a state of emergency, only when the tribe is on the brink of destruction can I activate it!”
“Oh, then I can just destroy your tribe if that is what it takes, after al-”
“No no no no! That was not what I meant! I-I apologize, I will bring you there, please follow me!”
Melian Aelfis’ sweat could fill a whole bucket as of this moment, she could clearly feel that Li Qu’s cultivation base was unfathomable and definitely capable of doing what he said.
Although she was prepared to sacrifice her life and was ready to fight, she knew she would not have won and would instead endanger the safety of the whole tribe.
She hurriedly brought Li Qu to the top of the World Tree by using her a wind spell to levitate up, Li Qu was indifferently floating beside her while seemingly in deep thought while blatantly staring at the spot above her.
‘Something is interfering with the karmic threads, it is like a signal jammer that the Earthlings use. I would have to look at the person herself to figure out something.’
“Esteemed Ascended Li Qu, I am a widow, i-if you stare at me like that, there would be misunderstandings…”
Melian Aelfis had misunderstood Li Qu. Due to the overwhelming amount of elves that tried to woo her in the past and present, she clearly had confidence in her own looks.
She had thought that Li Qu was trying to seduce her with his eyes.
“Do not misunderstand. I am not interested in you in the slightest bit.”

Li Qu coldly stated as he knew she had stray thoughts.
“Ah…”
Melian Aelfis ears flushed slightly from the embarrassment, she then focused on her levitation spell and looked up when she saw that Li Qu did not bother about her tomfoolery.
When they finally reached the top of the World Tree, Melian Aelfis looked across the horizon and took a deep breath of the pure untainted smell of nature, she smiled with joy and expressed,
“The view here is simply mesmerizing, it’s been almost a hundred years since I last came up here! Esteemed Ascended Li Qu, do you have any thoughts about the scenery?”
Melian Aelfis tried to strike a conversation to determine Li Qu’s mood, she was the tribe leader after all, the politics and pleasantries were par for the course for a person in the position of leadership.
“Compared to the ones in Green Heaven, this is underwhelming to say the least.”
Li Qu was straightforward in his review, causing Melian Aelfis, who was slightly proud of the young World Tree to take an arrow to her heart. Simply emotional damage.
But her eyes displayed a sense of interest when Li Qu mentioned something about the Sacred Place.
She put aside her pride as a tribe leader and the caution of someone who was just threatened not too long ago and asked,
“Esteemed Ascended Li Qu, can you please tell me more about stories from the Sacred Place? Our Nature Goddess had only told us about some things regarding it. I’m extremely curious and would hope to find out more about a world beyond Earth.”
She bowed respectfully and pleaded with some expectancy.
“Ask the Nature Goddess yourself later.”
“How do you know so much? ...Sigh, forget it.”
Melian Aelfis was truly perturbed by how much Li Qu knew about their tribe, but sighed as she knew Li Qu would probably not explain anything to her. Furthermore, he was too strong to be coerced into spilling the beans.

“Hmmm, It is because I was from the same place too. That is all I am going to tell you.”
Li Qu figured it would be fun to tease her with a bit of information and not tell her anything more.
“Y-You mean the Sacred Place?!”
She stammered due to the sudden revelation, she had not expected Li Qu to even reply to her question.
Li Qu just gave her a mysterious smile, she knew he would not divulge anymore information.
They then resumed their walk towards the center of the World Tree and saw a peculiar silver branch sticking out.
‘It seems that this Cal Cal is definitely from Green Heaven, even the dimension technique that was cast here is exactly the same, how did she even get here?’
“We’re here, I’m going to unlock it right now…”
Melian Aelfis was still a tad reluctant to open it, but she knew she had no choice.
“Do it.”
Woooonggg!
A deep vibration emitted from the silver branch as Melian Aelfis bit her thumb to force out a drop of her blood and dripped it on the branch.
The blood landed while she was muttering some form of ancient elven language that was only used when the elves were casting their bloodline techniques.
The silver branch shook heavily and it grew to the size of a few meters. It morphed to the shape of a door as a twirling portal lighted up from it.
They both stepped into it and disappeared from the top of the World Tree.
…
Cal Cal was deep in meditation as she detected movements coming from the entrance of the Elf Bloodline Dimension and frowned.
Her concentration was disturbed, but she knew that the entrance could only be activated by someone of the elven bloodline that she had taught and was only used when there was a crisis.
If it was an invader with peerless strength, this dimension would have slowly cracked and reacted violently.
She observed with her Spiritual Sense and saw the current tribe leader with a human.
Cal Cal then used the rights of an owner of the dimension to spread her voice throughout the whole dimension.
-Why did you enter here with a stranger? Melian Aelfis… Did you betray the elves?-
A calm and majestic voice was amplified by the echoes throughout the dimension, but one could feel that it contained a hint of anger as well.
Melian Aelfis quickly got onto her knees and kneeled in a certain direction while she explained in fear.
“N-Nature Goddess, this man said that he came from the Sacred Place! Please calm your anger!”
Cal Cal opened her eyes and her frown deepened as she became extremely solemn.
-It is impossible, I shall see for myself,-
“How you tricked my tribe leader, mortal.”
As her voice echoed out, her figure disappeared from her original spot and reappeared a short while later in front of Li Qu and Melian Aelfis, while she continued on with the latter part of her words in person.
Li Qu looked at the beautiful Cal Cal and smiled with interest at her impudence, he had recognized some unique features from her.
He asked her a question that would make her horrified and experience a chill in her spine.
“Silver hair, silver eyes and the Cal Queendom’s insignia in between your eyebrows. Who is ‘Elle Firsonia Cal’ to you?”
“What…? Who are you! How do you even know that! Are you one of those cultivator b*stards chasing us?!”
Cal Cal was confused at first but she shrieked as she was totally on the edge from hearing such information uttered from a person that she assumed was a mortal from Earth.
Li Qu’s smile widened to a horrifying degree as he replied,
“Me? Have you heard of the ‘Karmic Banisher’?”

Queer Tales From A Street Nominally Associated With Your Reality
The street is not from your world, and yet it's attached, clinging like a shadowy limpet to the edge of your London, your city skyline stabbing into it from above. Or well that's what we tell ourselves, no one who lives here really knows. We are after all just regular folk displaced from our original realities. Just a bunch of folks with queer tales from a street nominally associated with your reality. What to expect: - A series of interlinked short stories gradually unpacking the lives, complications and mysteries associated with those who live in the street - A weird pseudo-British setting where physics works inconsistently, and houses move position regularly - Stories filled with LGBTQ+ characters, and in particular ones on the trans/nonbinary spectrum - Potentially iffy grammar, I'm new to publishing my work online, so whilst I am checking things before posting it’s a near certainty that some things will slip through - A schedule of one chapter every two weeks.
