《Observation Log Of Miss Miner》Chapter 37: Iron Wing Insect Tribe (Part 1)

Converted 1t of matter.
I am right now drilling towards the northwest side of District 0.
*HISSS~~.*
"Warning! Drill overheating!"
Okay, okay.
I quickly cooled my drill with liquid helium.
"Heat and engine stabilized but lightly damaged."
"Changing to low power mode for 2 hours."
Of course, the best course of action was to let my drills cool down themselves, but I couldn’t wait long enough.
“Why?” Do you ask?
Let’s just say that there is something that could make any battleship fan weak on their knees!
I found some clues in the package of information I got from Bunker 1196, and some more from the convoy, finally confirmed by checking any live signal through sensors placed around Jackal's territory.
It was the location of an indirect fire support base that housed huge artillery pieces, used to bombard their enemy's nest in the eastern front.
But they were forced to abandon it due to the unrelenting attack from the enemies forces, and a bio-bomb that was dropped without any prior warning.
So like any person with a good head above her shoulder, I have immediately begun to dig and get the goodies!
I know I decided to go on a treasure hunt with only minimal information, but that’s enough for me!
Also, after collecting all these Matters, I finally have a chance to use it to update myself since I already had maxed everything.
So I exchanged my normal K-Head drill with a more sophisticated one called "Advanced Shield Drill System". The drill is 10m in diameter and can act as a shield against frontal opponents. It can even collect and separate minerals while drilling.
But it has the little problem of overheating a lot more than the old K-Head....
I thought of the idea of cooling them when the Overheat Alarm appeared by using liquid helium after analysing the emergency cooling system of the cyborg body.

But even with that, I still needed to enter a low power mode due to how much power it eats, and that forces me to disable my engine and many other secondary systems, leaving behind a few vital ones.
Converted 2t Matter
That also why I am moving with a guard, made of two mech teams, each of them made of eight M3A1 Main BattleMech. And let’s not forget the 20 androids equipped with Atlas-D HAA/Heavy Assault Armor/ and 40 SH-07 drones.
To protect me when I’m in low power mode.
I built ten times the equivalent back in my underground base.
Just in case I needed to call for an emergency.
Who knows what kind of thing I would face in this world.
I wish I had some kind of search tool to know what is around me, like mana sense or qi eye.
The only things I have for information gathering in the underground are sonar and sample extractor.
At least thanks to the sonar, I got a good sensor that allows me to feel anything around me in every direction around my body.
Over 10 Km underground, even with my upgraded drill.
I could only move about 3km before overheating.
But still, I am almost halfway towards my cannons!
I can't wait to check on future artillery!
How does it work?
What kind of shell does it use?
Is it automatic or manual?
How powerful is it?
OOOH, I Will definitely try them!
*SPHLOOSH!*
*Shudders.*
Converted unknown substance into 50kg matter.
What?!
Suddenly I began to feel a large amount of vibration of the ground on my detector.
As if millions of people are constantly moving left and right?
Oh~~.
OH~~
Don't tell me!
Those roaches again ??
A fucking 10km underground !?
I gave the command to my forces and continued the drilling into this fleshy, gooey wall.

*SPHLOOSH!*
*SPHLOOSH!*
*SPHLOOSH!*
Ugh!
Each time I drill through one of the fleshy walls, I discover a large number of eggs, maybe some kind of hatchery.. Of course, I immediately torched them using the Vermin Bane, leaving cinders behind me.
After 2km of digging, I finally found their main underground nest.
I take my word back about roaches.
Those things are the most disgusting things I ever saw!
Except butterflies cause fuck those big winged mosquitoes!
It was a large nest of big locusts, each over 1 meter long and a half meter wide, with a large green belly and long, wide wings with a silver shine. Since it was a big empty hole, I could use a radar to do a large area scan, and I calculated the nest was as large as District 0 itself.
Inside the nest, there were many other life forms, but sadly all of them were either living, regenerating food or breeding nest.
Usually, I have a second thought about killing living things, but this time...
I immediately knew those locusts should not exist in front of my eyes!
But first, I need to collect my attack forces.
*Hisss!*
Oh shit! I forgot to turn off my automatic cooling system.
AH!
They saw me.
*BZZZZ*
I saw a literal silver, green cloud rising from each of those nests and moving towards me.
*Tap, tap, tap*
All of the locusts landed on my drill and began to bite it.
Oh no, you don't!
*HHNNNN*
*CRACK!*
I ran a high amount of voltage through my whole body made of graphene using my EMP generator.
I successfully fried every one of them to death, but those nests almost immediately replaced their lost numbers.
But I have my fusion reactor!
I can activate it as many times as I want!
*Crackle*
*FWOOSH!*
Activating my electric bug fryer, I began to open fire using my 2 Heavy Vermin Bane flame thrower while slowly moving backward.
A few moments later, the large tunnel I dig is filled with burnt, mangled locust corpses.
Using my sensors, I detected another small larva that began to bore through the fried corpses and began to metamorphose almost immediately.
Shit!
That’s impossible in any scientific way!
Those locusts must be from those cultivators or fantasy worlds.
But thanks to my energy and matter converters, along the ammunition factory, I never ran out of ammo and electricity.
So I continue killing them.
But at the same time, they continue to refill their numbers by reproducing from nests or born from their corpses.
What troublesome pests are they?
But it’s okay, everything will change when my main forces arrive...

Pillars Between Us
It started with the dent left by the Forest Sprite; A small crack in the ice that encased his memories. Curtis knew that something was off, realizing that he wasn’t who he thought he was and— perhaps Ellis wasn’t the one meant for him. --It's a fantasy novel set in a world where people inhabit on pillars-- (think of m*necaft sky block, you'll get what I mean) -- then give it a hint of action, mystery and (twisted) romance-- and it's influenced by Japanese fantasy light novels (cuz I read a lot of em'). But I'm sure it's a weird one cuz the style of writing isn't the Japanese to English translated kind of style but rather the orthodox English novel kind of writing (which includes a bunch of errors and broken English thanks to me!). In any case, if you're up for it, just beware the story starts out pretty slow.. I mean-- back then, I was still inexperienced ok! I'm gettin' better along the way, Hmmph!
