《Strongest Ninja In A Hero Society》Chapter 14: Quirk Apprehension Test Gone Awry

Slowly but surely and a rate that always seemed to be timed just precisely for Takezushi's explanation of his Quirk to be cut off, more and more students kept pouring into the classroom. Without fail, people would introduce themselves to the people already in the classroom and either meet up with old friends from middle school or instantly be drawn to Takezushi in wonder of what kind of powerful quirk he had lying dormant in his body.
The only two times that wasn't the case was when the same blond-haired boy that Izuku called "Kachan" entered the room; apparently, he was always hateful. The boy didn't introduce himself and just took his seat while laying back and putting a foot on the desk right ahead of him. One of the other students who had earlier introduced himself to Takezushi as Tenya Iida — also, the same guy who had reproached Izuku during the Entrance Exam's orientation — had entered into a conflict with the blond, preaching about his behavior being unbecoming of a student of U.A.
Then, unlike all the other times a new face entered through the doors, Takezushi actually reacted with goodwill as he saw his friend Izuku. Izuku himself didn't notice him before paying witness to the sight of the quarreling boys, evident by the helpless smile on his face which suddenly turned genuine after making eye contact with Takezushi. But before Izuku could say anything, a voice that to him was considered angelic, prompted him to flip himself around to face the outside of the room.
It was the girl that saved him from falling while he was making his way with Takezushi to the orientation on the day of the Entrance Exam. Izuku became flustered once more, losing nearly all the parts of his cognition that contributed to speech and as the girl sang praises of his performance in the practical exam, he just mumbled quietly.
Again, their "chat" — if you could even call it that — was cut short by as a new voice unknown to all the students coming from outside the room. "You're in the wrong place if you're looking to make friends… This is the department for heroes..." With the girl that was talking to Izuku moving to the side, the sight of a man lying within a yellow sleeping bag registered in everyone's eyes.
Takezushi stared at the man with both confusion and amusement in his eyes, but he remained quiet which the rest of the class gradually joined him in as the man stood up while still inside his caterpillar-like sleeping bag. Eventually, when the room was dead quiet and the man's true body could be seen, he began speaking again, "It took you lot eight seconds to quiet down..." With unkempt long black hair, bags under his eyes, and bloodshot eyes, it was clear that the man had some sort of a sleeping disorder; at least that was how he presented himself.

Sighing in disappointment even as he spoke, the man continued, "Life is short and this proves you lack of common sense..." In the same breath, without changing tone or anything, the ever-tired man said, "I'm Shota Aizawa, your homeroom teacher." Reaching into his sleeping bag, he pulled out the school's gym uniform and concluded his introduction by saying, "Change into these immediately and meet me in P.E. (Physical Education) Grounds in the next ten minutes..."
Startled, Takezushi followed the rest of his classmates as the look of confusion in his eyes deepened. 'This isn't at all how High School was portrayed in the books I read. Guess my research wasn't as thorough as I thought.' Little did he know that it wasn't as he had read, because this was a very "free-flowing" school. It would be inconceivable to imagine a regular High School deviating this far from a traditional curriculum, but U.A. wasn't just any High School. It wasn't even a regular Hero High School, but that very best.
In the boy's changing room, Takezushi frowned slightly. He was already a bit unnerved as his usual apparel of highly conservative clothing had taken a dive as he was required to stay in the academic school's uniform. Now having to show off more skin, he grew a bit displeased as his arms and legs would be exposed. Even the parts that were covered by his body were tightly fit around his figure and since the clothes wear made of thin fabric, he was exposed to a coldness he usually never experienced.
Now, Takeuzhsi knew full well that the problem he was facing could be solved effortlessly by warming up his body with chakra; it didn't even have to be fire or lightning release chakra. However, the discomfort he felt wasn't because of the temperature, rather, he had an attachment to highly conservative clothes as they were something that reminded him of his mother.
Through the years where they survived as slaves in North Korea, one of the few things Aiko took pleasure in was making clothes for Takezushi. Since they lived in a frigid and callous environment without heaters or air conditioners, the clothes she usually made for her son were all for warding off the cold. The thick winter apparel began to feel homey to him and only now did he realize how much he loved them.
Still, even if he felt a little out of tune, Takezushi kept his calm as he quickly changed and left for the P.E. Grounds. Even when he moved subconsciously, his speed was something to marvel at as he was in and out of the changing room within half a minute. If one looked at the clothes he changed out of, the feat became even more impressive as he had to set aside a jacket, tye, shirt, undershirt, pants, and shoes. He didn't even notice as the boys were giving him odd looks, wondering how he changed so quickly.

As the first person to arrive at the Grounds, it was naturally only Takezushi and his teacher Aizawa for the first couple of minutes. Taking this as the most opportune time to talk privately with Takezushi, Aizawa said, "Otsutsuki, I believe it was mentioned in your acceptance letter, but I think we should discuss your status here before we begin the day's test." Since they only had a teacher and student relationship, Aizawa called Takezushi by his surname.
Nodding, Takezushi said, "I know, I'm the first case where U.A. has had to make an exception to its rules to accept. As a special student, I'll do my best to live up to the status given to me by the school." He replied formally as the hidden meaning in his words lit a fire in his eyes.
"Right… With your score, we had to re-evaluate the batch of kids in your practical exam as you had essentially monopolized all the points. But what I want to get to is that as an exception, you should strive to be the model student for your peers. With your flawless score in the theoretical exam and the unfathomable score of 610 in the practical exam, I expect great things from you."
Takezushi nodded seriously. He had no idea that this kind of speech would shock all the other teachers in the school as Aizawa was notorious for being a strict individual who was hard to impress.
Eventually, with the time passing, the rest of Class 1-A convened at the P.E. Grounds and Aizawa began explaining what they would be doing today. He said, "Right now, we'll be doing a Quirk Apprehension Test." His words shocked the class.
"What about the Opening Ceremony and the Guidance Counselor Meeting?" The girl Takezushi came to know as Ochaco Uraraka, asked.
"If you want to be heroes, focus on what is important. There's no time for pretentious niceties as my only goal is to turn you lot into the best Heroes you can be as soon as possible. The school's reputation for freedom extends to us teachers..."
Aizawa picked up a softball and tossed it at the blond-haired kid, saying, "Bakugou, as the 1st Ranked on the Entrance Exam, I need you for a demonstration..." Catching the softball, Bakugou glared at his teacher, gritting his teeth as he said, "What's the meaning of this? I didn't take first place… Are you making fun of me?" Small explosions kept galvanizing at the palms of his hands as he seethed in anger.
"Well yes, but actually no… You see Takezushi over here is a special case. Now get to the pitching field before I dismiss you with zero marks..." Without explaining, Aizawa calmly replied.
Still evidently raging underneath his now restrained exterior, Bakugou complied as he walked over to the softball pitching field. With him in position, Aizawa asked, "What was the longest you could pitch in middle school?"
Hatefully, Bakugou spat, "67 meters..."
"Good, now try again but with your quirk this time. Do whatever you want within the pitching circle, but don't hold back."
"Hmph!" With a growl, Bakugou warmed up his arms by swinging them a couple times before he prepared a most serious attack, screaming, "DIE!!!" Thereafter, a massive explosion propelled the ball until it was out of sight. Shocking the crowd of students as the resulting shockwave from the explosion lashed against their skin, everyone was stunned silent until a beep came from the device on Aizawa's hand. Their teacher showed the class the results of Bakugou's throw, commenting, "705.9 meters? Pretty good..."
With his words cutting the tension in the air, the students immediately erupted into cheers and began discussing among themselves. Their downfall came as a voice said, "Wow, this is going to be fun~"
As if on cue, a horrifying pressure descended on the group of cheering students as Aizawa said, "Fun you say? You think that for the next year, you'll be living it up and having a good old time?" Glaring at each individual student — aside from Takezushi who had barely reacted to anything the other students had done — he added, "In that case, let's add a new rule to this little test. Whoever comes in last will immediately be expelled..."
Pulling up his hair so that the class could see a truly sickening smirk on his face, he concluded by saying, "With the freedom I have as a teacher, I can expel the entire class if I deemed it to be necessary. So I'll reintroduce you to our department of heroics!"
