Author Note : I'm sorry for the grammar mistakes or sentences that is too hard to understand which need you to re-read it for 2 times or more to understand it. I'm too lazy to check for mistakes and honestly, I'm sucks at finding my own fault. Though I'm pretty good at finding my sisters fault.
_______________..^^._______________
There were so many surprising thing that popped out one after another. That Mangdora Creep was a Mid-Boss? I have yet to fight a trial mob and here I am alive after I managed to defeat a Mid-Boss monster and gained 7 levels.
And it looked like the enhancement that I got before had a side effect. I am not able to roll the dice for another 6 days, and I won’t get any fame or reward from quest if I used The Eye enhancement. Which means, if I were working on a quest that have 1 thousand fame as reward, if I used The Eye enhancement the reward will be null. Well that is troubling, if I were a normal player that is. Fame…? I don’t need fame. I want money!
SHOW ME THE MONEY!!
And last but not least, Gambler?! Is that even what you call a profession? What happened to ‘The Eye Apostle’? I thought I had become The Eye apostle? Or was it my profession when I received the blessing from The Eye? If that was the case then it makes sense.
Now, what do I do with this Profession Change?
I clicked on the gambler profession and an info pop out.
Gambler!Gambling is the wagering of money or something of material value which is sometimes referred to as "the stakes" on an event with an uncertain outcome with the primary intent of winning additional money and/or material goods. Gambling thus requires four elements be present: consideration, chance and prize also luck.

- Rolled a Dice with good enhancement once [/]
- Draw a Pair [/]
- Draw a Flush [/]By accepting this profession a certain locked stat will be unlocked.
- Luck - You can distribute points on this stat. [0]“The thirst for money is real!”
Accept or Decline? Of course I would accept! Who the hell need swords and armors if you can sell it for money and gamble all day? I can get a good weapon or even a set of item if I’m lucky enough, no wait. I will be lucky I will invest all my point to luck stat and won each and every bet that I do! I don’t have to grind, I don’t have to face the pain anymore.
You have accepted the profession of Gambler! May the Goddess of Luck be with you!
Another notification popped out.
Gambler!

Required item for Profession Gambling :
Dice rolling skill (passive): Phase 1 Normal 12%
Card Drawing skill (passive) : Phase 1 Normal 56%
“The thirst of money is real!”
Now that I read the description carefully, I do I get the feeling that they were just copy pasting the information on minipidea?! Anyway, I got 2 new skills, but those skills were passive. Not that I mind because these passive skill can be a great asset in gambling! I accepted the profession and looted the Mid-Boss monster drop. Rather than drop, all I did was took out its bark, root also its sap, again, using the dagger that I have equipped as the main weapon.
- You have obtained Mangdora Bark
- You have obtained Mangdora Roots
- You have obtained Mangdora Sap
I then proceed by checking the Dice info; it was an important thing as the dice is one of the items needed in the requirement to unlock the Gambler profession. Before, I threw the dice randomly without knowing its effect, gladly I rolled something good. If I were to roll a number with bad enhancement, I don’t know what would’ve happened to me.
But there was something that intrigue me ‘Rolled a Dice with bad enhancement’?
Lucky Dice!
Lucky Dice is one of the items needed to unlock the Gambler profession. Each side of the dice gives out different enhancement.
A lot more of dice ability will be unlocked as the player become a lot more prominent in Gambling.
You can only roll a dice 3 times a day, there will be 2 hours delay from each rolls.
Roll Count : 2/3
Cards resonance : 50%
Dice resonance : 0%
I knew it, other than good enhancement there are bad enhancement too! There are these things that were called as resonance, I wondered what it was. I thus selected the Cards and click its info.
Cards Of Lucia!
These cards were made by the Goddess of Luck Lucia. There are 56 cards in one set. Each combination in this card gives different types of enhancement. These enhancements varied from time to time even if the same combination of card was drawn.
Draw Count : 3/3
Dice resonance : 50%
Card Resonance : 0%
This card had that resonance thingy in it too. I wonder what these resonances really are. Dice resonance and card resonance, are they supposed to compliments each other power by any chance?
Do I have to get another set of card and shuffle it together to increase the resonance?
Do I have to find another dice and roll it together to increase the resonance?
There were so many things that were floating inside my brain, in the end I decided to leave that thing out and opened my player interface, or what I always call as; profile.
“Now time to check my stat.”
There was no one there but I still said it out loud. I can’t helped it, it has been proven scientifically that a person tend to talk out loud to their self.
Yep, my stat has returned to normal.
After I viewed my profile and invested all of my 35 additional stat points to luck, I continued my journey to retrieve the desired herb by Sheldon.
Today was the first time I fought a monster, and a Mid-Boss at that. If it weren’t for the cheat-like dice that I never thought I have up in my sleeve I would’ve experience my first death in this game. Honestly I was still surprised at this game realism; the sense of pain was so real that I almost forgot it was all in my mind.
Though, it got the pain got nulled the second I become ‘The Eye Apostle’.
After the fight with Mangdora Creep the rest of the journey was smooth sailing. I managed to get the needed herbs and even took twice the amount then what had been asked by Sheldon. Of course I did not forget about my dice and set of cards.
Apparently once you equipped it as your weapon it will return to your hand after a certain period of time if the [equipped item] did not moved or changed location. My light stick that I throw away when I was suddenly chased after that Mangdora Creep has returned into my inventory too. But it was another story for the dice.
As the dice was unusable for 6 days, it was not able to return to my automatically. So I had to look for it myself… It took me quite sometimes before I was able to find it. Next time I will throw it just under my foot so I can pick it up quickly before I lose it. Yeah, I shall do that.
***
“Here are the herbs that you wanted me to find.”
“Oh thank you!”
Quest completed! Reward ‘The secret to medicine processing’
+50 Intimacy with Sheldon
“Here it is the secret to medicine processing.” Sheldon said and handed over a thick red book to me.
I observed it carefully; all I saw was nothing but weird characters that was neither kanji nor alphabet. Does it mean that I need a certain amount of intelligence to be able to read this book or something?
“You need to have atleast 50 intelligence to read the book.” Seldon who noticed my grim expression exclaimed.
I stuff the book into my inventory bag. My leather clothes that were died in red began to let out a putrid smell. Now that I think of it, I wonder why my clothes weren’t given any defense. I should at least able to get 2 or 3 defense point from a newbie clothes.
If I were to have a better defense maybe the Mangdora Creep won’t be able to deal a lot of damage to me. I lose 25% of my total hp when I was hit once by the roots before I got the cheat-like enchancement.
“Here let me patch you up.” Sheldon said.
He looked at my tattered clothes and disheveled appearance. He was about to say something but he then shuts his mouth.
Isn’t he going to say anything? Like are you okay, or I’m sorry for sending you out into the forest without telling you that there are high chances you will mistake a Mangdora Creep as Mangdora Tree.
But I guess he must’ve not known about it too. There is this feeling guilty kind of expression painted on his face.
From afar I could see No Hair waving his hand at me. I waved back in reply. He soon came to where I was.
“Wow lad… You looked terrible! What happened?”
“I found a Mid-Boss Mandgore Creep, and somehow able to defeat it… though as you can see I’m all tattered up. Its attack was harsh! I almost die back there.”
It was the true, even though after I gain the cheat-like enhancement for 5 minutes and able to overpower the Mangdora Creep, I was already dying mentally due to its trash talk damage. I got to admit; sometimes, words can be sharper than the sharpest blade.
If I know who was the programmer for that AI I would be more than please to give him a hug, on the neck, with a rope!
“You are one lucky person lad! Wait, wasn’t that Mandgore Creep was a subspecies of Mandgore tree? ” No Hair asked.
“I don’t know, but from the appearance of it you can say so.” I replied.
“Wew mate! Are you for real? Our level 25 scout boy met with that thing and was bedridden until now!”
If it weren’t for the lucky dice roll, not only bedridden; I would’ve died right there and right then.
“I was lucky indeed.” I said in reply to No Hair amazement.
“Well, as things turned out, we might actually able to defeat those Mermen by ourselves without having to wait for the subjugation force. I was a little bit reluctant to attack those Mermen because my best man Scout Boy is bedridden due to injury. But with you around, things will be different don’t you think so?”
No no no! I definitely don’t think so! It is true that I was able to defeat that Mangdora Creep but that was only after I got a cheat-like ability for less than 5 minutes. Moreover it takes another 6 days before I can use the dice! And even if I can roll the dice I doubt I can get another roll of 6!
I can only roll the dice 3 times a day with delay of 2 hours every roll! Once I used it all up I will be left with nothing, plus I don’t know what the other numbers enhancements were. There are high probabilities of me getting a negative enhancement instead of good one. I even got a bad enhancement at first roll for deed that I don’t know where and what time did I done it.
So my answer is no! Period!
Why do I feel my strategy in distributing all my stat point to luck is going to be a bad idea? I will check up the internet and find out a lot more things about this game. This game is quite fun I say, but it was not fun when you feel the actual pain! Seriously, sooner or later people will start complaining about this and I will be one of those people.
“But… Wouldn’t it be better if we just protect the villager rather than going out to exterminate those Mermen?” I tried to object.
“Early bird catches the worm lad! It might be too late to protect the villager when the army of merman came here.” No Hair overruled my objection.
What? Prevention is better than cure? Is that he wanted to say?
And it might be too late to say it now but, since when did he changed from calling me mate to lad?
“…but-“
“Here’s the thing lad. These Mermen are not like the Mermen it was before. I got my scouts telling me that these Mermen are getting better and better from each battle that they had with the villagers. They are starting to understand strategies, weapon making and what not. If we strike them now we are able to weaken their forces. They are no longer the Level. 1 Mermen that we used to know.”
That is the more reason for me not to go isn’t?!
“My plan is, we get into their main travel point at the southern beach. Destroy their base and exterminate as may merman that we can.”
“Wait, southern beach? Do we have to pass through the forest?”
“Well yeah, the southern forest is the fastest route to the southern beach.”
“The forest was where I met the Mid-Boss, I almost died there…”
Seriously, this is getting even troublesome. Now he’s asking me to pass through the forest where that Mangdora Creep will spawn in a day. Forget about reaching the southern beach, we won’t even get pass the forest.
No Hair was silence. He kept on messing with his non-existent hair as if he was thinking about something.
“A new subspecies of Mangdora Tree was found on the southern forest, what’s more a mid-boss level at that, if wonder if this thing is somehow connected with the Mermen advance for the past month.” No Hair said and looked straight into my eye. Emitting a seriously aura from his pupils he added, “Okay how about this lad. If you help me exterminating the Mermen base I will teach you my most honored finishing technique.”
“C-Captain are you sure you’re going to teach him that just for helping you destroying the Mermen base?” Sheldon who was quiet the entire time raised his voice.
“The reward that I’m going to give it represents how important it is for us to destroy their base as fast as we can.” No Hair explained.
Finishing technique! The deal sounds pretty good, as of now all I have are passive skills that can’t possibly be used in battle continuously. If I can get an active skill I can probably level up by feeding off the weak mobs. Besides, I think it’s a good chance for me to gain levels by EXP auto distribution.
If I were to meet that Mangdora Creep again, there would be no problem as this time I got Level. 70 Navy Captain No Hair with me. But first, I need to confirm the validity of his offer.
“First thing first, are you going to teach me directly or are you going to give me a book to read and learn the technique?”
I won’t do troublesome stuff that leads me to another troublesome stuff.
“Of course I will be teaching you directly, what kind of method is left other than teaching you directly. This technique is my personal technique that I created when I was fighting the Kraken! This isn’t some boring moves that I learned from books!” No Hair exclaimed.
“If you’re going to say that much then… fine, I accept it.” I replied without any strength in my answer. Well at least I can use active skill when I learned the technique.
“I knew that I can count on you lad.” No Hair let out a big grin and showed his golden teeth.
Main Quest Updated! One of No Hair ship Scout reported that there were changes in the Mermen Army.
The Mermen were no longer like it was like before. They are able to make base, devise strategy and forge weapons
In order to weaken their army, No Hair proposed that the base are to be destroyed and exterminate as my merman as possible. Objective : Join No Hair Party and destroy the Mermen Army base. Exterminate as many merman as possible to weaken the army forces.Time Limit : Before the Subjugation Team arrived.Quest Difficulty : DReward : No Hair [Finishing Technique]
I then joined No hair party.
I don’t know how long had I been playing the game, but it was about time for me to log out. I opened the player interface and clicked log out. There was a warning that tells me…

The capsule burst opened.
I immediately checked my whole body carefully and thoroughly, even though I was healed by Sheldon. I was wondering if it would have a side effect to my real physical body. Luckily, my body was as sexy as always.

It swings between action, drama, and sometimes some darker comedy. Warning: A whole lot of profanity, alcohol, drugs, implied violence, actual violence and mega-violence—the kind that involves knives sliding into eye sockets and brains spilling onto floors—the usual stuff, scenes of intimacy, mercenaries, pirates, lots of moral ambiguity, including a wizard that likes to make tea with the heat sucked from his victim's bodies and a heap of world-ending monsters ready to eat people. _______________ Expectations: Updates every Monday and Thursday. Chapters will be between 2,000 and 5,000 words. I'm Irish and write in "Irish English" which is to say that I don't use much of the letter "z"

Free Your Mind
A journey through the mind can be a mixture of the good, the bad, the pure, and the evil. Free Your Mind is a collection of poems and short stories that I've written over the years. As of now, this book is still in progress, but I've planned to release at least 25 to 30 chapters minimum for Free Your Mind. Hopefully you enjoy reading through the works already published for this book, and I hope you'll stick around for what's to come in the future. If you have any comments, ideas, critiques, etc. please let me know! I'm always open to what people have to say about my work. Free Your Mind is a way for me to dabble into releasing my writings for the public to read. And hopefully, if all goes decent with this book, I'll continue to upload different works alongside this. Note: Currently the cover work for Free Your Mind isn't mine. I plan to upload an original design once I've completed the chapters for this book.

Campaign: A Project Starfarer Sidestory
This novel’s lore, story and characters are entirely fictitious. Certain long-standing countries, institutions, organizations, agencies, and public offices are mentioned, but their histories and the characters involved are wholly imaginary. "What will you do with your freedom?"Growing up in a meritocracy, infamous for being lawless, Jordan Astros had been repeatedly asked this question, since times unmemorable. In a society where one's accomplishments and skills were tallied and ranked in order to determine one's standard of living however, Jordan quickly grew to understand that 'freedom,' was a reward earned by accumulating Merit. And so, after his 17th birthday, Jordan departed his Clan's habitat in orbit of Europa to embark on his century-long journey to rise from E-Ranker to S-Rank. And spread his name throughout the Galilean Powers. *** Campaign is a sidestory within its NanoPunk parent series, Project Starfarer. (Yet to be published. Be on the lookout for it!) In which the first transhuman known to humanity, the Starfarer, invokes a plan to seed terrestrial life throughout the galaxy. Campaign takes place around the middle of that timeline and explores the life of a key figure in that universe, Jordan Astros. And explores one of four great nations thriving in the Solar System during that time. A Meritocracy that spans Jupiter and its 79 moons, The Galilean Powers. What you'll find in Campaign: Brutal melee combat in airless and pressurized low gravity environments. A technology based progression system influenced by merit and accomplishments; using tech that's theoretically possible to exist in the near-future. An exploratory perspective of the dozens of Galilean societies, or 'Powers,' from Jordans; and sometimes others', POV. What you wont find: Romance. Harems. An MC who receives shortcuts, handouts, learns things unnaturally fast or has OP plot armor. Jordan is not a special individual. Jordan is not OP and he likely never will be. He's no different than any other citizen in the Galilean Powers and will certainly face as many defeats as he does wins. He'll suffer losses and grow as an individual, while the Powers evolves around him as well. This is semi-hard sci-fi/NanoPunk and takes place in a fictional version of our future solar system. Centered around technology that's plausible in the near-centuries to come. Everything abides by the laws of physics/thermodynamics (As best that I understand them, at least. I'm no scientist.) No artificial gravity, inertial dampeners, teleportation, FTL, or hand-wavy materials will be found in the Project Starfarer universe. Just advanced automation, nanotechnology, cybernetics and AI. Set in the backdrop of space. *I do not own the photo used for the cover*
